Hello everyone, I am looking for help in installing scratchbox to aid in developing on a Samsung S3C2410 processor. If i read correctly in wikipedia, this processor is based on an ARM920T core, that carries the ARMv4 instruction set... The host system is slackware 13.37, 32bit .
I downloaded and extracted the packages: scratchbox-core-1.0.26-i386.tar.gz scratchbox-devkit-autotools-legacy-1.0-i386.tar.gz scratchbox-devkit-debian-1.0.12-i386.tar.gz scratchbox-devkit-debian-squeeze-1.0.7-i386.tar.gz scratchbox-devkit-doctools-1.0.15-i386.tar.gz scratchbox-devkit-git-1.0.2-i386.tar.gz scratchbox-devkit-mtd-1.0.3-i386.tar.gz scratchbox-devkit-perl-1.0.5-i386.tar.gz scratchbox-devkit-python-legacy-1.0.2-i386.tar.gz scratchbox-devkit-qemu-0.13.90-0rabbit1-i386.tar.gz scratchbox-devkit-svn-1.0.1-i386.tar.gz scratchbox-libs-1.0.26-i386.tar.gz scratchbox-toolchain-arm-linux-cs2010q1-202-1.0.17-2-i386.tar.gz scratchbox-toolchain-cs2009q3-eglibc2.10-armv7-hard-1.0.24-18-i386.tar.gz scratchbox-toolchain-cs2009q3-eglibc2.10-armv7-soft-1.0.19-6-i386.tar.gz scratchbox-toolchain-cs2009q3-eglibc2.10-i486-1.0.24-12-i386.tar.gz scratchbox-toolchain-host-gcc-1.0.26-i386.tar.gz just to be on the safe side. the scratchbox installation wiki hasn't been very helpful.... and is somewhat outdated considering this processor: -should i go for the latest scratchbox packages? (1.0.26) -should I go for Hathor or Apophis, there doesn't seem to be any pros/cons information out there. could you please give me some pointers? additionally I tried several toolchains I understand that scratchbox-toolchain-cs2009q3-eglibc2.10-armv7-soft-1.0.19-6-i386.tar.gz is probably targeteds for ARMv7 instruction set i.e. not for me, but what is scratchbox-toolchain-arm-linux-cs2010q1-202-1.0.17-2-i386.tar.gz?? what is the soft/hard distinction ?? finally I tried setting up several targets for these toolchains but when i tried installing files I would get 'failed to install c-library for target...' Finally, i am fuzzy about the qemu-arm and qemu-armeb cpu-transparency methods... could you clarify? Thank you for your help nass
