Remedy 6 - Distributed Pools
Hi List, The DSO 6.3 Admin manual p80 states: Using distributed pools is optional. If you do use distributed pools, however, you must create on both source and target servers, and source and target forms. Just want to ask, if a pool is in source server and not in target server, and there are DSO filters using that pool, what are the implications? Would this mean the records using that pool won't be copied over to the target server? Remedy 6 Solaris, Sybase Thanks! Kaye NOTICE The information contained in this email is confidential. Re: Remedy 6.3 - DSO Process always stopping
Thanks Doug! Actually, we noticed the increase in number of records when the process started dying frequently. There was also a time we got ARERR 8747 on logs but it's no longer appearing in current logs. We know this could be a memory issue. Any ideas how to fix / address this? Also, we're operating on a server group configuration (4 application servers with DSO only enabled on one server). There was a recent cleanup on licenses - not sure if this could be related though. But would there be anything we could check further? Thanks! There are lots of factors that can slow DSO down but your biggest issue is the 20 records. In addition to looking at indexing on the pending table take a long look at all the different cases that are triggering a DSO record. In particular, make sure that any filter that fires on merge includes AND $USER$ != Distributed Server So you don't go back and forth between servers. Hi List, Is there a way to restrict access to web services so that users would need to ask administrators before they could consume already built web services? We'd like to restrict it for specific web services (i.e. web service 1 has a set of users accessing it and web service 2 may have different users accessing it) This way, admins have better control of who accesses system and what processes are being done. (For example, if a Change or unexpected equipment outage happens in a certain time and if it will impact existing Control-M jobs, can Remedy 7.5 be used to alert the Control-M job owner? 2. In Remedy 7.5, are there any functions that allows for auto discovery of servers, applications and databases etc in a network? 3. how to set Qualification in web services
Hi, I would like to know how to use LIKE condition for Qualification in Web service. Am aware that for an input parameter we need something like: 'Category' =XPATH(/ROOT/Category) What if I want the relation to be LIKE %Category input parameter% instead of =? How to change field access on specific Change status?
Hi, We have an Outlook to Remedy interface built that enables Help Desk ticket creation through emails sent to the server. We tried to implement the same on Change Requests. However, upon initial run, we saw that some fields are not accessible at creation time... (we're trying to create Change Requests that are of Status = Closed). One of the fields is Closure Code. Any idea on how to change the access for this field (and others that may also give errors)? Thanks! kaye NOTICE The information contained in this email is confidential. What is the best platform to run Remedy 7.5 in?
Hi, When downloading from the BMC site, a list of platforms are available: Microsoft Windows/NT, AIX, HP-UX, HP-UX Itanium, Linux, Solaris. Which among these is the best platform to run Remedy 7.5 in? Any advantages of one platform over the other? Also would any have limitations for eventual virtualisation? Thanks! Question on Email notification upon closure of tickets
Hi List, We are thinking of enabling email notification upon closure of every Help Desk ticket. We'd like to send it to the requester with a sort of customer survey attached - voting buttons probably on whether they were satisfied with the service or not. I am aware of Notify action but would this be able to support something like the voting buttons? Any ideas? Thanks! Kaye NOTICE The information contained in this email is confidential. Re: Help on Business Hours computation
Hmmm.. Thing is, it's an automated process... Whenever a system scan is done (BEM) and a certain condition is met, a new ticket is created.. So active links cannot be used :( -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arsl...@arslist.org] On Behalf Of Shafqat Ayaz Sent: Monday, 27 April 2009 1:23 PM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: Help on Business Hours computation of the top of my head how about using an Active Link instead of a filter. that should use the client time rather than server time. shafqat --- On Mon, 4/27/09, Kaye Bernales kristine.berna...@macquarie.com wrote: From: Kaye Bernales kristine.berna...@macquarie.com Subject: Help on Business Hours computation To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Date: Monday, April 27, 2009, 2:15 AM Hi List, How are business hours computed? If I have a business time workday configured with offset value, and we enter time on client side, it gets converted to server side time. What if I want server time to be converted to client time? Any ideas on how to go about that? Scenario is this: I have a filter that triggers upon submit on Help Desk form and uses timestamp value (submit is automated and is using server timestamp). If an asset related to the ticket has a different region (therefore different timezone) set, it stores the Region and corresponding Workday tag. However, in order to check if the ticket was raised within business hours, the timestamp value is being checked by adding 1 second (Application-Bus-Time-Add) and comparing to timestamp + 1 second.. This works assuming asset has same timezone as server. But for assets on different timezones, especially those more than 8 hrs away, it fails.. it's using server timestamp and assumes calculation as if time given is client time and does necessary conversions. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated. Remedy v6.3 Thanks! Kaye NOTICE The information contained in this email is confidential. question on Application-Bus-Time-Add
Hi, I would like to ask a question regarding Application-Bus-Time-Add command in Remedy 6.3. If I use it in Set fields and use $PROCESS$ Application-Bus-Time-Add $CurrentTime$ 1 1 $Holiday Tag$ $Workday Tag$. If I have proper holiday and workday tags configured (workday tag with offset -7), would this command just add 1 second to CurrentTime? (Currently, I'm getting a value that's around 15-16 hrs after current time) Workday tag would only be used to consider work hours right? Would there be any consideration for the offset value? I intend to use it. :) Thanks! kaye NOTICE The information contained in this email is confidential.
