It is so nice to see the response from this caring and compassionate group. I am so glad that I work in an industry with such helpful peers. I have received I email in response and that said what I had wasn't worth anything. That may be, I don't know anymore. I guess I would have to say that I have been very under whelmed by the response. Here is the deal: June of 2000 I had a tumor removed from my brain. It has caused me to not be able to move data from shorttrrm memory into longterm storage. Stuff that was there is still there, I just need to spend an increadable amount of time on something before it moves into longterm storage. As you might imagine, this has had a very real impact on the certification process. I won't say it's impossible for me to do, but it is so difficult that thr ROI just isn't there. For example, it is nearly impossible for me to memorize. So there goes the stuff neded to pass the OSI portion of any exam. So you folks on the list have an oppurtounity to help me recoup some of my expenses while I figure out what I can do for a living. Please don't just offer advise, got plenty of people doing that. I really need to get back as much of the expense of the books as I can. I have more available. If I don't get blasted off the list I will post the remainder at some future date. I agree. You cannot go wrong with Halabi and DoyleCaslow is also very good. The bottom line is that there is no one book that will do it all. You will need to read a variety of books, each with it's own merits. Once I pass the lab next year, I'll continue using certificationzone for when I have to recertify. You'll still need to use the Cisco web site; particularly the internetworking guides and the usual Doyle/Caslow/Halabit complement of books and I might also suggest the CCIEprep study guide by the Rossi family.
