[JBoss-user] [Clustering/JBoss] - Issue | Sequence Generator | 2 JBoss Instances Single Machin
Hi all, I am facing a strange issue. I have 2 instances of jboss on the same machine and we have a number of stateless session beans used in our application. Now, I have written a Stateless session bean for sequence generator. I am able to run it on one instance but it is failing on another instance (even if I am only this running this one instance). It gives the following error: com.proximities.common.utils.SequenceIdGeneratorUtil: Method: getSequence(): Message: TableKey : VENUE 2005-08-02 11:19:58,406 DEBUG [com.proximities] Class: utils.SequenceIdGeneratorUtil: Method: getSequence(): Message: Fetching from sequence proxy factory: VENUE 2005-08-02 11:19:58,406 DEBUG [com.proximities] Class: ejb.EJBLookupUtil: Method: getInitialContext: Message: Using JNDI initial context: org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory 2005-08-02 11:19:58,406 DEBUG [com.proximities] Class: ejb.EJBLookupUtil: Method: getInitialContext: Message: Using JNDI URL: jnp://localhost:11099 2005-08-02 11:19:58,406 DEBUG [com.proximities] Class: ejb.EJBLookupUtil: Method: getInitialContext: Message: Using JNDI initial context prefix: org.jboss.naming:org.jnp.interfaces 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 DEBUG [com.proximities] Class: ejb.EJBLookupUtil: Method: getSequenceFacade: Message: SequenceStoreFacadeHome - Sequence store facade home returned from ejbHomeFactory isnull 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 FATAL [com.proximities] Class: ejb.EJBLookupUtil: Method: getSequenceFacade: Message: Exception during the invoking the remote interface 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] java.lang.NullPointerException 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] ejb.EJBLookupUtil.getSequenceFacade(Unknown Source) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] sequence.SequenceProxyFactory.getSequenceStore(Unknown Source) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] sequence.SequenceProxyFactory.reserveBlock(Unknown Source) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] sequence.SequenceProxyFactory.(Unknown Source) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] sequence.SequenceProxyFactory.getSequence(Unknown Source) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at common.utils.SequenceIdGeneratorUtil.getSequence(Unknown Source) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at dataaccess.VenueDAO.add(Unknown Source) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at dataaccess.VenueDAO.update(Unknown Source) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at dataaccess.common.GenericDataAccessManager.executeModify(Unknown Source) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at business.mediator.ManageVenueMediator.insertIntoVenues(Unknown Source) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at business.sessionfacade.VenueManagementFacadeEJBean.insertIntoVenues(Unknown Source) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(NativeMethodAccessorImpl.java:39) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:585) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at org.jboss.invocation.Invocation.performCall(Invocation.java:345) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at org.jboss.ejb.StatelessSessionContainer$ContainerInterceptor.invoke(StatelessSessionContainer.java:214) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.CachedConnectionInterceptor.invoke(CachedConnectionInterceptor.java:185) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.StatelessSessionInstanceInterceptor.invoke(StatelessSessionInstanceInterceptor.java:130) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at org.jboss.webservice.server.ServiceEndpointInterceptor.invoke(ServiceEndpointInterceptor.java:51) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.CallValidationInterceptor.invoke(CallValidationInterceptor.java:48) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.AbstractTxInterceptor.invokeNext(AbstractTxInterceptor.java:105) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.TxInterceptorCMT.runWithTransactions(TxInterceptorCMT.java:335) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.TxInterceptorCMT.invoke(TxInterceptorCMT.java:166) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.SecurityInterceptor.invoke(SecurityInterceptor.java:139) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.LogInterceptor.invoke(LogInterceptor.java:192) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.CleanShutdownInterceptor.invoke(CleanShutdownInterceptor.java:264) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at org.jboss.ejb.plugins.ProxyFactoryFinderInterceptor.invoke(ProxyFactoryFinderInterceptor.java:122) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [STDOUT] at org.jboss.ejb.SessionContainer.internalInvoke(SessionContainer.java:624) 2005-08-02 11:19:58,421 INFO [ST

I precise that if in my jboss-web.xml I use a which is not declared in a of the web.xml, the webapp is not deployed saying there is a mistake in the jboss-web.xml, which is normal. So, my problem is that utilisateurCollaborateur is not mapped to the I provided. Is there a debug feature I could turn on to help me find out what's going wrong ? [JBoss-user] [JNDI/Naming/Network] - Problem accessing JNDI over HTTP - iptables
Hi, Iam able to connect to JBoss JNDI over HTTP as described in the admin guide. http://docs.jboss.org/jbossas/admindevel326/html/ch3.chapter.html#ch3.accessingjndi We have iptables for redirecting traffic from anotherhost:80 to 8080 of the JBoss server. Access to port 8080 is restricted to external network. My Program should execute in external network and only port 80 is accessible to external network. In this case the program fails when I try to connect JNDI using anotherhost:80. I have modified jboss-service.xml in \http-invoker.sar to include the attribute InvokerURL pointing to the full url - http://:80/invoker/JMXInvokerServlet. But still the problem persists It throws javax.naming.NameNotFoundException Any clues ???. I was able to reproduce the problem by setting the -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote parameter, and confirmed that the patch I committed last night fixes the problem (by finding the JMX server by calling MBeanServerLocator.locateJBoss() instead of just locate()). So, this issue is fixed in CVS. [JBoss-user] [Clustering/JBoss] - Re: clustering problems - nodes fail to cluster
Turns out the problem was a switch issue. What made this especially hard to figure out is that org.jgroups.demos.ViewDemo shows the machines clustering correctly. Fortunately, org.jgroups.tests.McastReceiverTest and org.jgroups.tests.McastSenderTest failed, which led me to investigate the switch settings. I can now get the machines to cluster successfully in jboss 3.2.5, but they fail to cluster in 3.2.7. We'll launch with 3.2.5 for now.Perhaps removing "-b 0.0.0.0" will fix it for 3.2.7? [JBoss-user] [EJB/JBoss] - Re: distributed transactions -- are they or are they not sup
That "it only points to bad design" has been posted before and isn't true. We have a distributed application that requires a record to be stored both locally and at a remote site. The redundant storage of the record allows both sites to do their thing even when they can't communicate. Should the two databases get out of sync, the app is compromised. Lastly, they have to communicate over https. The http invoker servlet is awesome by the way, really came in handy. That's the other piece the worries me though. I'm concerned that even if we do successfully integrate JOTM we'll then only learn that the invoker servlet doesn't propagte the transaction context. Do you know if it will or won't? Tyrex is broken and does not do transaction recovery. Even the original coder said NOT to use it in production. Although you can still find the code in the cvs archive, I doubt it even compiles. JOTM is based upon HOWL of which most people I've spoken to have a low opinion. I know of posts (which you can find using search) where people have tried to integrate JOTM and asked for help, but then gave up because: * They couldn't get it to work * Got it to work, but didn't give any feedback to tell us * Gave up trying with no conclusion If like these other users you go for JOTM and aren't prepared to contribute the integration back to JBoss, you are on your own. Does your web application cache the interfaces that are being used or do you perform the lookups each time? As part of your testing did you make sure at least one of the nodes was up all the time so when each node is started it can join the original cluster or at some points were all of the nodes shut down? Finally for the next access from the web application was one of the nodes up during the previous request still available? Thanks for the quick reply. Having a definitive answer means more than you know. The postings regarding tyrex seem to suggest that it was included/recommended at some point in JBoss's history but was subsequently removed/deprecated. The postings regarding JOTM seem to suggest that it is the recommended open source alternative but I've found no postings that suggest it has been successfully integrated. I need distributed transaction support in the near term. Are either of the above viable with JBoss 3.2.x or 4.x? (I'm not averse to doing a little work to make it happen, I'd just like to avoid spending a lot of time only to learn it was never viable to begin with. Also, I'm not talking about a high volume application, just a few concurrent transactions at any given time.) Thanks again. [JBoss-user] [Installation, Configuration & Deployment] - JBoss temporary directories
First of, let me say sorry if I botch any of the terminology here. I'm having a problem relating to permissions of the JBOSS_HOME and subsequent subdirectories. Previously, the entire JBOSS_HOME was owned by user foo:foo and that was the user that ran JBoss. I've since changed this and only allowed the foo user to have control over the $JBOSS_HOME/server/blah/{work,tmp,deploy,data} directories. This seems to work fine in that JBoss starts up without complaints. However, when I go to visit one of our JSPs, the compilation process fails because the foo user does not have permission to write to $JBOSS_HOME (specifically, $JBOSS_HOME/files1854029287). I did a bunch of searching and apparently this is an ant related problem that JBoss triggers: http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=19765 The relevant errors that I'm getting are: | Error creating temporary file | java.io.FileNotFoundException: /apps/jboss/files1854029287 (Permission denied) | I thought the scratchdir parameter for the jsp server in web.xml was the fix, but it is not. I've changed all web.xmls that I can get my hands on. Is there way around this? If I'm leaving anything out, please let me know and I'd be happy to provide it. Thanks in advance! That you Very much. I'm writing a blog system (just for fun and learning). So I'll have my dispatch servlet wich will do all requests. that need autorithation. and care for login only in case the required actions need auth. Btw: is there a way I can ship my login-config with my ear? or do I have to edit the one in server/default/config over and over? Another question: though not completely JAAS related. I have my setup of a User-Group-Role database schema with CMP EJB's... now say I have 3 projects. I could a) extend them to include the 'domain' field. or put them into different tables. But Jboss doesn't allow me to have 2 ear's with the same Beans. :( So I must name them UserBean or something. thank you. kindest regards, Moritz Angermann View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3887796#3887796 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3887796 --- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM. I've read many postings suggesting JBoss 4 has a "full distributed transaction manager" which I take to mean a TM that provides for transactions that span multiple JVMs. The JBoss 4.x documentation does not support this. It makes reference only to the "fast in-memory TM" that does not propagate transaction context outside of the JVM. There are many and varied postings that talk about using tyrex and jotm but none of those inspire much confidence. So does JBoss 4.x include a transaction manager that supports distributed transactions? Thanks, Gregg P.S. Here are some links suggesting this is included with 4.x: - This posting says JBoss 4.0 has a "full distributed transaction manager" -- http://www.theserverside.com/news/thread.tss?thread_id=19615 - This posting says 4.0 has "a full implementation of J2EE 1.4 and distributed transactions" -- http://computerworld.com/developmenttopics/development/java/story/0,10801,83555,00.html - This posting suggests that distributed transactions are part of J2EE 1.4: http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/tutorial/doc/ - As does this one: http://www.theserverside.com/articles/article.tss?l=J2EE1_4 (the jboss site says JBoss 4.0 is J2EE 1.4 certified) [/url] View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3887795#3887795 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3887795 --- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM. we have 2 kinds of interceptors so far in jboss portal, server scoped and component scoped. in 2.0 both of them use the same based interface, in 2.2 they have each a specific subclass. you create your own by inheriting the base class of interface and you specify them in an xml file in conf either in standardjboss-portlet.xml or jboss-container.xml View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3887792#3887792 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3887792 --- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM. [JBoss-user] [Security & JAAS/JBoss] - Re: Using JAAS in a Servlet? No Pricipal propagation?!
Basically, your servlet is a client to your EJBs. With JBoss, if a client is doing an explicit JAAS login, the established security context is propagated to the backend EJBs only if you have the JBoss ClientLoginModule as part of your JAAS configuration. I am assuming that you edited the login-config.xml fo JBoss to create your "domain" JAAS configuration. This configuration needs to look like that: domain { .. //Any other login module that you might require. org.jboss.security.ClientLoginModule required; }; The ClientLoginModule at the end of your JAAS module stack will basically make sure that the security context is propagated to backend EJBs. In your scenario: #1 login #2 call methods #3 logout If this is all one single HTTP request, then what you are doing is fine. If the #2 must spawn multiple HTTP requests, it is definitely better to let the container (Tomcat/JBoss) do the authentication for you through BASIC or FORM based authentication. [JBoss-user] [Security & JAAS/JBoss] - Re: Using JAAS in a Servlet? No Pricipal propagation?!
Thanks for the answer Tomas. Well I tried to look it all up running google queries all over the place... hmm... What I wanted was: #1 login #2 call methods #3 logout so the natural way seemd to use the JAAS login when the user arrivs and logging him out once he goes. The thing i wanted to implements was some soft-user-tracking. so the user has no password and is idientified by his id (stored in a cookie) only. I know I have to watch out for buggy browser and XSS. But this is supposed to not be implemented on any *harmful* cases anyway. Thanks for the answer I'll look into the BASIC and FORM base auth. It whould be nice though if you could elaborate on that ClientLoginModule part a bit or hint me to a thread I did not find. kindest regards, Moritz Angermann View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3887783#3887783 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3887783 --- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM. [JBoss-user] [Clustering/JBoss] - Failover problem
Hi, We have two clustered JBoss instances in cluster configuration containing clustered SLSBs. Web applications deployed in a third JBoss instance access these clustered SLSBs. I was testing failover by stopping the current active clustered instance and each time testing the functionality of the web app to ensure that the failover has successfully taken place to the other clustered instance. Initially the failover works fine but at some point the failover breaks and the web app starts throwing "Service Unavilable" exception even though one of the nodes is available to accept requests . To recover from this the jboss instance running the web application has to be restarted. Can anyone clarify whether this is a JBoss issue and also provide a solution to this problem? Thanks in advance. [JBoss-user] [Security & JAAS/JBoss] - Re: Using JAAS in a Servlet? No Pricipal propagation?!
There are tons of threads on this subject in the forum. If you are doing you own JAAS login in your servlet code, you will need to make sure that ClientLoginModule is part of the JAAS configuration you are using ("domain" according to your code below) for the propagation to happen. But you also need to realize that you will have to do the JAAS login at every requests if you write it by yourself. It is much better to let the container do the authentication for you (using BASIC or FORM based authentication for your web app) as it will associate the security context with the HTTP session. Hello folks, I solved the problem by myself. The ear deployer is missing what means that the EARDeployer MBean is not registered so you can deploy no ear archives. [JBoss-user] [Clustering/JBoss] - Re: ClusteredSingleSignOn - TreeCacheSSOClusterManager fails
I think there was a problem with how TreeCacheSSOClusterManager was finding the JMX server -- I'm expecting your command line switch caused another JMX server to start and TreeCacheSSOClusterManager was finding that (sorry -- at work now and can't confirm). Last night I committed a patch to Branch_4_0 CVS that should fix this. Earlier today I replied to the e-mail you sent me with the config files. Email included a zip with the latest version and compiled classes, which if you want you can integrate to see if it solves your problem. Tonight I'll try using the -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote switch and see if my patch resolves the problem. BTW, thanks for the very clear report. [JBoss-user] [JNDI/Naming/Network] - Co-located HA JNDI and EJB Clients
I have been having some trouble with the HA JNDI configuration. I did get it to work, but I am hoping to find a better way to do what I need. I believe I am missing something pretty basic and simple, but I have failed miserably to find any documented hints in this regard. Hence, this post. My 'architecture' has a SLSB that writes a message to an HA JMS Queue which results in triggering an MDB. This MDB calls another SLSB which again does the same - write a message to an HA JMS Queue and so on. All this works as expected on a standalone system. The trouble begins with HA configuration. The initial setup is pretty straightforward once I use the 'all' server config as my starting point. So, I have two machines nodes with the 'all' config and the JMS queues are deployed in the ha-singleton. On startup, one of them is indeed the master. Now, I understand that to ensure that I am using HA JNDI to get to the queues I have to create the InitialContext with the HA JNDI port 1100. I, of course, do not want to hard code this 1100 in my app. Actually, I do not want to worry about it at dev time at all. So, I use the server/all/conf/jndi.properties file and set the provider url to use :1100. But, as soon as I do this, the AS does not startup as cleanly as it did without this change. My guess is that the AS does need the default 1099 (non HA JNDI) for bootstrapping and me chaning the provider url basically masks the access to the regular JNDI. This appears like a chicken-n-egg -- to ensure that the AS startsup cleanly I cannot change conf/jndi.properties to include the HA JNDI provider url. But, without the HA JNDI provider url, I cannot get my queue via the HA JNDI. So, as a solution (this is hokey) I change the jndi.properteis file AFTER the AS as started up and BEFORE I deploy my application in the farm directory of one node. This works just fine. But, this really makes the hot deployment pretty messy since there is this config in jndi.properties that I have to ensure that I undo and do before I restart any AS instance. Though, this is trivially done using a script to start/stop it seems a hard sell for the ops guys to use my scripts over JBoss Inc's. I already feel dumb asking this question - any ideas what I might be missing? Is there an easier way to deploy an application (EAR in my case) specific jndi.properties that is not part of the EAR file. The ops guys argue that it is pretty inconvenient to unpack the EAR file then add a new config file and pack it again for every deployment. Thanks and apologies for this long post. -shree View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3887747#3887747 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3887747 --- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM. [JBoss-user] [JNDI/Naming/Network] - Re: communication Exception
Thanks for the reply. When I try with localhost it works perfectly. I intentionally put in bocalhost, because I want to capture the exception. There is no machine called bocal host and my debug log shows the naming exception being thrown - but not from my code even though I am catching it. Thats the problem. I need to handle the case of getting a naming exception. [JBoss-user] [Beginners Corner] - jndi problem with 4.0.3rc1 and EJB3
I have been playing around with EJB on 4.0.1SP1 and just moved to 4.0.3rc1. I added the persistance.xml in place of the hibernate.properties. I have a very simple test with one Entity and one stateless Session. Everything is running in a single VM. No changes to default configuration were made to the server=all. The server starts up fine, creates or updates the db table behind the Entity. JNDI works to the exent I can do this: InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext(); Object o = ctx.lookup("java:/testDS"); System.out.print(o); However, if I do this: PersonSessionLocal dao = (PersonSessionLocal) ctx.lookup(PersonSessionLocal.class.getName()); I get this: javax.naming.CommunicationException: Receive timed out [Root exception is java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Receive timed out] org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContext.discoverServer(NamingContext.java:1115) org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContext.checkRef(NamingContext.java:1223) I have tried running the app outside eclipse(doesnt help), trying a fresh install of jboss (using the installer). Does anyone have any ideas? [JBoss-user] [EJB/JBoss] - Cannot deploy ear containing wlclient.jar
We have an application that makes remote EJB calls to a WebLogic 8.1 server. The wlclient.jar for WebLogic is contained in the ear and is referenced through the class path entry in the manifest file for the EJB jar. This application works perfectly in WebSphere 5.1, but when we try to deploy it to JBoss 4.0.2 (J2SDK 1.4.2_06, Win2K), we get the following error: Initialization failed jboss.j2ee:jndiName=ejb/com/ihcfs/events/EventsAdminHome,service=EJB java.lang.NoSuchMethodException: org.jboss.ejb.StatelessSessionContainer.removeHome(javax.ejb.Handle) at java.lang.Class.getMethod(Class.java:986) at org.jboss.ejb.StatelessSessionContainer.setupHomeMapping(StatelessSessionContainer.java:125) at org.jboss.ejb.SessionContainer.createService(SessionContainer.java:153) at org.jboss.system.ServiceMBeanSupport.jbossInternalCreate(ServiceMBeanSupport.java:238) at org.jboss.system.ServiceMBeanSupport.jbossInternalLifecycle(ServiceMBeanSupport.java:220) at sun.reflect.GeneratedMethodAccessor2.invoke(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.invoke(DelegatingMethodAccessorImpl.java:25) I discovered that if I removed all of the javax.* packages from the wlclient.jar, then the application would deploy successfully. Unfortunately when it came time for the container to do a remote lookup of the WebLogic EJB, a different error occurs: javax.naming.InvalidNameException: Couldn't resolve initial reference: NameService [Root exception is org.omg.CORBA.ORBPackage.InvalidName] at weblogic.corba.j2ee.naming.Utils.wrapNamingException(Utils.java:50) at weblogic.corba.j2ee.naming.ORBHelper.getORBReferenceWithRetry(ORBHelper.java:499) at weblogic.corba.j2ee.naming.ORBHelper.getORBReference(ORBHelper.java:465) at weblogic.corba.j2ee.naming.InitialContextFactoryImpl.getInitialContext(InitialContextFactoryImpl.java:97) at weblogic.corba.j2ee.naming.InitialContextFactoryImpl.getInitialContext(InitialContextFactoryImpl.java:42) at weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory.getInitialContext(WLInitialContextFactory.java:41) It appears to me that the wlclient.jar requires its own javax.* packages in order to work correctly. But JBoss seems to be having some class loader issues, even though I have it configured to use a different class loader per ear. Just to rule out any problems with the application itself, I did create an empty test ear that included the wlclient.jar, and reproduced the same error (the first error listed above). I am very curious to know if others have seen this issue in JBoss, and if anyone has found a work-around for it. Thanks. Can anyone please tell me what am I missing out and suggest me in overcoming this situation. TIA Regards, Shahul. In my jboss-web.xml, I have a utilisateurCollaborateur collaborateur djeanprost where I map utilisateurCollaborateur to collaborateur and djeanprost. I added the principal name djeanprost to add a test : it does not work neither. I conclude the mapping from utilisateurCollaborateur to collaborateur is not done. Where am I wrong ? [JBoss-user] [Clustering/JBoss] - Re: ClusteredSingleSignOn - TreeCacheSSOClusterManager fails
I kept investigating the problem and found the difference betweeen the machine where Clustered SSO works for me and the one where it doesn't. Moreover, I found the root of described the problem! Apparently some time ago I wanted to be able to reach jboss JVM via sun's jconsole, therefore I modified the startup script run.bat, and appended -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote system property. You can observe this in the provided log. The addition of this parameter rendered Clustered SSO unusable. The question is: why the heck this happens! The quick&simple resolution is the removal of -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote. Again, is there any sensible reason why this affects ONLY Clustered SSO?? Now, finally, back to the drawing board... cheers, /dd View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3887693#3887693 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3887693 --- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM. [JBoss-user] [Clustering/JBoss] - Clustering EJB3 JBoss 4.0.3
I have a Problem concerning clustering ejbs. Searching did not lead me to a result so I am asking in this Forum: I was using the installer and chose the "all" config in the installer to install the AS. Now I am trying to experiment a little bit with clustered beans and immediately had a problem which I think I did not have with previous releases + EJB3 . When deploying it did not find LoadBalancePolicy: [ServiceController] Problem creating service jboss.j2ee:service=EJB3,name=info.seraphim.tests.stateful.CalculatorBean java.lang.RuntimeException: java.lang.TypeNotPresentException: Type org.jboss.ha.framework.interfaces.LoadBalancePolicy not present The code (Taken from the trail and slightly modified): | import javax.ejb.*; | import java.util.*; | import java.io.Serializable; | import org.jboss.annotation.ejb.Clustered; | | | @Stateful | @Clustered | @Remote(CalculatorRemote.class) | public class CalculatorBean implements Calculator, CalculatorRemote, Serializable { I guess it has something to do with the ejb3 installer's version not beeing fully "cluster-ready". What should I do to get a "clustered" 4.0.3 wit ejb3 support? Thank you in advance! [JBoss-user] [Beginners Corner] - Progressnotification
Hi everyone, I've a question about progressnotification. I have a standalone java client app which should invoke an long running calculation on an enterprise java bean. The calculation is realy heavy work which will take maybe hours. While work is in progress I want to show some kind of progressbar in the app client, which updates to the current state every 10 seconds or so. How can I implement such a cenario? Do I need a message queue and the calculator bean posts its current state into it and the clients reads the current state out of it? Or is there a type of listener I can use? I want to implement this cenario with EJB3. Yes it makes sense for the EntityManager to throw the exception after a flush executes. However it appears that in this situation an exception is not being thrown by the EntityManager. I recommend that you certain whether the Bean is Binded For example, You can check whether the thread prosess is running or aborted as the sample code below -- ... if( cache.containKey(JNDIName) ) { queueFactory=(QueueConnectionFactory)cache.get("JNDIName"); } else { queueFactory=(QueueConnectionFactory)initialContext.lookup("JNDIName"); } ... -- plz refer to this docs http://java.sun.com/blueprints/corej2eepatterns/Patterns/ServiceLocator.html View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3887656#3887656 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3887656 --- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM. [JBoss-user] [J2EE Design Patterns] - Re: Static Initialization at server startup
I strongly advise you to use 'Service Locator Pattern' by using Singleton Pattern. If you had done this methodolgy, you could have make the module more efficiency. --- reference docs http://java.sun.com/blueprints/corej2eepatterns/Patterns/ServiceLocator.html View the original post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3887651#3887651 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3887651 --- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM. [JBoss-user] [Persistence,JBoss/CMP, Hibernate, Database] - Re: Exception: CMR field value is already loaded
Even if a version upgrade always requires some work I would strongly recommend an upgrade to a JBoss version > 3.2.6 as there is a connection pool leak in earlier JBoss versions under heavy load. [JBoss-user] [Persistence,JBoss/CMP, Hibernate, Database] - Re: A CMR collection may only be used within the transction
Make sure that both beans ( the session bean and the entity bean) declare that a transaction is "required". Then all of the 'internal' CMP entity bean operations should run in the same transaction of the 'outer' session bean. The container will create a transaction before invokation of your session bean method and will reuse this transaction for all embeded entity operations. Guaranteed message delivery for queues just requires sending [bold]persistent[/bold] messages. [JBoss-user] [EJB/JBoss] - After my restarting DB Server, throwes javax.ejb.CreateExcept
My Database server is not stable, and I must restart it sometimes . Every time I restart it,my web application on JBoss cannot work. I checked the code, when the ejb's create() method is called ,it throws Exception : javax.ejb.CreateException: Error checking if entity exists:java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][SQLServer 2000 Driver for JDBC]Connection reset by peer: socket write error then I had to restart the jboss server and incrupt the custom's browse and transaction. So I ask the question:How to keep the Jboss server working well in this situation?
