the document does not compile with LyX 2.3 either. It is a problem in
the document that is easily fixed:
Just before the very last section ("Copyright Glosar Mind-Control"),
there is a pagebreak. The problem is that this pagebreak is in the same
paragraph than the section, which causes the error. LyX should actually
prevent you from entering a page break here, this is a bug.
Solution:
* hit enter after the pagebreak
* set the style of the paragraph the page style is in to "Standard"

Dear LyX list and LyX developers,
the problem with my document only occurs when I try to compile the
whole document with two depending files, a .bib and a .txt file.
I shortened the document to a minimum, but then the LyX document can
compile with:
% lyx --version
LyX 2.4.0~RC3 (2024-02-09)
If it is possible, I can attach all three files: the complete LyX
document in for LyX version 2.4 (and 2.3) format, the .bib file and
a .txt file to my next reply.

Dear Adrian,
I'm not sure this issue is known. Would it be possible to make a short
example that shows the issue? Or even a medium-sized .lyx document would
be fine as long as it doesn't depend on other files (e.g., images or
child documents).
This could be a big help so we could catch a bug before the 2.4.0 final release.

I have a long LyX document, which still works in LyX 2.3 when I save to
the LyX 2.3 format and open the document on NetBSD with Lyx 2.3.
Trying to compile the document to PDF (pdflatex) whith LyX 2.4-RC3 on
Debian/testing fails.
The errors are the following:
Paragraph ended before \@newl@bel was complete.
Extra }, or forgotten \endgroup.
LaTeX Error: Missing \begin{document}.

LyX 2.4.0 RC3
The third release candidate for 2.4.0 is available here: http://ftp.lyx.org/pub/lyx/devel/lyx-2.4/ The reason for the quick release of the third one was a bug preventing the editing of math in tables. That has been fixed, as has been another bug affecting the creation of LyX 'archives' on Windows.
