RE: No-one has setup the FQDN??? RE: [otrs] FQDN Not Being Set -
Thank you guys! This installation is a VM that came from VMware's repository and was built buy unknown. I am Linux savvy so I'll do as Steve Carr suggests and rebuild as these symptoms make no sense. I really used the VM to do some evaluation work anyway, have decided to go with OTRS and need to implement a more production-like server anyway. This cannot be that hard and the FQDN is defined in the place where all indications point; Config.pm. I do intend to restore this setup just to see if the OS had any impact on the FQDN issue (I doubt it). No I meant in the linux OS itself. RE: No-one has setup the FQDN??? RE: [otrs] FQDN Not Being Set -
You can set the kernel.domainname in linux by sysctl -w kernel.domainname=the domain. That is without the of course. Linux is a bit touchy. Typically is the domain name is not setup during installation you have to jump through hoops to get it to work. I imagine that you set the domain name in the hosts file and in the resolv.conf file. They all work together. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Sanson, Rick Sent: Wednesday, July 18, 2007 11:02 AM To: otrs Subject: RE: No-one has setup the FQDN??? After making the change in sysconfig/framework/core/FQDN and then click Update at the bottom of the page, the page then refreshes to have fc4 in the FQDN field and not what I changed to. Hi, You probably already have a FQDN set under your configuration file : $Self-{'FQDN'} = 'yourhost.example.com'; Did you check on Kernel/Config.pm configuration file please ?
