Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Qobuz.com streaming plugin
Well I found the API.pm in that directory and the only parameter that has a "500" limit is this one: "use constant USERDATA_LIMIT => 500;", so I changed it to '2000' (I have 1680 favorites in QB ;)) but after saving the modified file, and getting back to the Squeezebox, there doesn't seem to be any change, it still sticks to the latest 500 favorites, on the device itself, but also in Squeezepad, in IPeng... Maybe it's still pulling content from the cache (though I thought cache for user data is pretty short lived). Try removing the qobuz.db from the cache folder and try again. So, I thought that maybe this limit problem is not only related to your plugin? Maybe QB restricts the number of favorites on anything but their own official apps? or I may be doing something wrong? I'll have to double check what the maximum number per request is. We might be topping out there. They do provide methods to "page" through large sets of data (eg. pulling in favorites in chunks of 500s, until all your 1680 are downloaded). But there's no code in place to do paging. Once the API.pm is modified and saved, is there something else to do to actually implement the modification, like rebooting the SB or anything? (I already restarted LMS on my PC, maybe that's not enough?) Re-starting LMS should be good enough. I'll double check once I find some time. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

tamanaco wrote: > gharris, thanks for your reply... Is the code above for long press sleep > or just for a short press sleep? IIRC, all Squeezebox IR remotes except for (some? all?) Boom remotes use the same scheme, and that is, keep sending the same IR code as long as the user is holding the button down. LMS has logic to treat the press as "short" if the player stops relaying IR code info to LMS fairly soon after the first code is sent. Some (all?) Boom remotes used a scheme whereby they'd send a button-specific IR code when the button was first pressed, and then for as long as the button continued to be pressed, they'd send a different IR code. That second IR code was the same for all buttons, and essentially was meant to tell Boom+LMS that the user hadn't stopped pressing the button yet. Technically, I think this "ditto" IR code (which I think was an industry standard) required less energy because it was shorter in length (fewer pulses of light), and therefore looked like a smart idea for a small remote with an expensive, disposable battery. I think Logi/SlimDevices at some point started building the Boom remotes to use the old school (non-ditto) behavior. Physical buttons on Boom (and Squeezebox Receiver) are treated differently -- the player sends LMS indication of both the button being pressed ("down") and the button being released ("up"). AFAIK there's no way to trigger those messages with an IR code sent to the player's IR receiver. > ... Anyway, I tried teaching the long press sleep command to my Harmony > Smart Control and it didn't work because, as I was told, newer Harmony > remotes have no "raw" learn capability. I'm trying to work with Logitech > (Harmony) support to see if they can add this command to the profile for > that device. 1) Really, a Harmony remote that can't learn? Sounds crazy. 2) Are there multiple Squeezebox devices in the Harmony database? Since all devices starting with at least the Squeezebox 1 support the same codes, you could try another device. (IIRC, the SliMP3 player responded to codes registered to another company, likely the JVC brand DVD codes that are also generally supported on older players by LMS out of the box. You could look at the .map and .ir files for LMS, but I don't believe LMS recognizes a JVC "sleep" code.) 3) If you can't customize a Harmony remote, take a look at the world of JP1 programmable remotes. One For All used to have nice options, but it looks like nowadays many people resort to reprogramming Comcast's set top box remote controls since they're cheap, plentiful, and apparently support JP1 programming. In a couple of my rooms I've been using OFA JP1 remotes for years, with very good results. 4) For use with LMS, you might be able to program the Harmony remote to send some other recognizabled IR code (one of those JVC DVD codes would be good) and modify the .map (?) file for LMS to have it treated as a "sleep" button. Sorry, my memory is really fuzzy here. But basically the old "IP3K" players like Boom recognize most IR codes (but not all, like they don't understand Denon's) and will relay info to LMS for most IR codes. So it's likely you can use the .map/.ir files to have LMS recognize a non-Squeezebox IR code as a sleep IR code. Ikabob wrote: > With this latest version of ipeng, while in a playlist, is it possible > to move tracks up or down to reposition them in the line-up? > Sure. Just press "Edit" on the top of the playlist, then you can drag&drop them. The drag&drop throughout iPeng (including the player list and the "edit main menu" view) works a bit differently than before in that you have to (very) briefly hold an item to pick it up, iPeng no longer shows the handle. That change was made for several reasons: - this way it's consistent across the App - in the "edit main menu" view the "stock" rearranging as provided by iOS (the one with the handle) doesn't work because to select the menu level you also need to move an item sideways - in the player list the new scheme leads to much more obvious results since it allows to drop one player directly onto another player (for sync) or on a server (for server switching) instead of just rearranging them as in Apple's solution. It also means in the player list you can d&d without having to enter edit mode first (can't do that in the current playlist because it conflicts with the context menu). - it saves the space for the handle which is especially precious in the current playlist on iPhone and in pinned mode on iPad. ianto39 wrote: > After long pressing a track name there'd be a 4th option after Add to > End, Play Next, Play, called Preview or Sample etc. It'd immediately > play 5 or 10 secs of the track starting a minute in, so you could remind > yourself what the track sounds like before adding it to the Playlist. > (Alternatively, Play could play without clearing the current Playlist). > I like this. I'm not an ipeng user as I have Android devices but personally if I'm queuing up tracks to a playlist using an app to control another device I'll quite often use the local player on my device to preview a track before adding to the play list on the SB. Actually there's a good idea, if iPeng is controlling another device have a preview option in the context menu that plays the track locally.
