@pippin Nothing is synced that I can see. But I notice that iPhone playback has an oddity whereby it always reverts to 100% volume as soon as the iPhone's home key is pressed. The same thing does not happen with iPad playback. With iPad, the volume is unchanged on exit and on re-entry. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Re-entry after any time increases the volume. If done immediately, the increment is 5. A longer interval can cause an increase which is a multiple of 5. You see the volume slider move to the right shortly after re-entry (as well as hearing the volume increase, of course). No Bluetooth speakers, Airplay or other external audio component that I can think of. There are a couple of iPads though, at least one of which has playback enabled in iPeng. I haven't tested whether the same thing happens with either of them but can do so tonight if it might help with diagnosis... With iPeng 8.2.1 on an iPhone 6, if I exit the iPeng screen by pressing the home key and then immediately access it again by touching the penguin icon, the digital volume control nudges up by 5. This is repeatable behaviour and happens without using any other app in the interval or touching any other buttons. Leaving a longer interval before accessing iPeng again can result in larger increments, but always multiples of 5. Any idea what would cause this, and how to fix it..? [SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP Mixer - curious behaviour
In an idle moment I tried a MusicIP Mix of a track from Van Der Graaf Generator’s Live At The Paradiso. The MusicIP mix settings in my system are quite conservative, so it wasn’t a total surprise when the next track was from the same album, and the third and fourth tracks too. At this point it had obviously hit some sort of limit and reluctantly shifted to Mars, from Holst’s The Planets, and then something from Ton Koopman’s Bach Organ Spectacular. After this interlude it was back to VDGG live before blossoming with a bunch of tracks from King Crimson, ELP, Yes, The Doors, Mike Oldfield, and quite a few songs from the HDTracks World’s Greatest Audiophile Vocal Recordings. While there are clearly some genre linkages between a number of the selections, other seemed pretty far apart – more so than generally results from a MusicIP mix. The penny dropped when I realised that what every single track had in common was that it is -a 24 bit recording-. A quick test with other 24 bit tracks confirmed this. Seeding a MusicIP mix with a 24 bit recording produces a playlist of exclusively 24-bit tracks. Clearly, MusicIP Mixer sees bit depth as the single most important criterion by far. I am reluctant to liberalise the mix parameters lest the mix become too random. Anyone know of a way to make MusicIP Mixer “bit-depth blind”? -- Peter314 Peter314's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14028 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=70915 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Ok, I listened patiently to Radio 4 until the problem recurred, then called A&A tech support. After establishing that we were talking about a problem with streaming radio, not video, the guy put me on hold for a while to look at what was going on. He went on to say that he has made a change so that there is now no traffic shaping going on (and implying - but not explicitly stating - that there had been traffic shaping). I was told that some value (didn't catch which one, I'm afraid) had now been turned up 'to 110%'. So, we'll see.
