[SlimDevices: Plugins] Synology 7.9.1 packages
Hi all, With all packages for DSM 4, 5 and 6 updated to the official 7.9.0, it is time to test the repo again. The LmsRepack is back for ARM-based nas and continuing with 7.9.1! Just add the following to the package sourses in DSM package center: Code: Name: LmsRepack Location: http://server.pinkdot.nl/repack/ Make sure all other versions of Logitech Media Server or LmsUpdate are stopped! Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Synology 7.9.1 packages
Hello All, unfortunately, I decided to stop making LmsUpdate and LmsRepack. I stopped using LMS for my main system and installed it as a back-up system on a Pi. I also notice a decreasing number of downloads during the last year. Many users switch to Raspberry Pi' s or even other systems, like me. It was a pleasure to keep the package up-to-date, together with this community for a number of years. Thanks all for your support and feedback. Let' s hope Synology will update the package when releasing new DSM versions in the future. Greetings, Martin -> LmsUpdate is updated 1 last time to solve the Networking::IPv4Addr issue. unfortunately, I decided to stop making LmsUpdate and LmsRepack That's unfortunate, indeed :-(. Thanks for all your support during these years! Synology has been one of the most popular platforms to run LMS on for quite some time. At the risk of repeating myself: could you please share how you did those build? Do you have any script? A toolchain? We could probably automate those builds as part of the nightly build process. Let' s hope Synology will update the package when releasing new DSM versions in the future. I'll try to ping them. -> LmsUpdate is updated 1 last time to solve the Networking::IPv4Addr issue. Version 7.9.1-1503129895 can be downloaded from my server till the 1st of November. Are you going to pull it because you no longer want to respond to support requests, or because you want to free space or save bandwidth? Thanks so much for all your hard work Pinkdot, I really appreciate it. You are one of the legends of the squeezebox with Michael, bpa, T Cutting, etc etc... After seeing your message today, I decided to try installing LMS on a spare Pi3. Really impressed, and it's much faster than my old NAS (which is a 212+). I'm sure a newer NAS would perform much better than the Pi3, but the Pi3 blows my old 212+ out of the water performance wise, so I'm happy. It also runs the new Spotty Spotify app, but the NAS didn't, so that's an added bonus! Just wanted to say thanks. :-) Will. willsy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=53298 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107180 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Tried that, but I don't think the Entry Box likes the '-' (Dash) .. Won't let me enter it. The Box Turns Red. I've got Folders of Photos, Videos and Other Data Files under "Data-Area" .. Some premature elation on my part. While scanning my MusicLibrary after about 40 minutes into the procedure, I got a message the the Scan aborted unexpectedly. And LMS had stopped running on my RPi 1.) I tried re-booting the Pi and I get a green Check Mark for 'LMS is Running' for about 1 minute before it goes to Red. 2.) Tried unplugging the RPi and get the same result. 3.) Unmounted the Disk to my NAS and reboot with the same result. Any ideas of how I can get the Rpi going again, without reloading the O/S on the SD Card? First of all, I have no knowledge about Debian, Synology DSM, SPK packages or Perl. Nor any knowledge on the architecture of LMS, and only very little Linux knowledge. I do indeed believe that this would be about it. But looking at the download page I was wondering whether we really need dozens of different packages, or whether one could do. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Synology 7.9.1 packages
Hi Martin and others I can not use the LMS package anymore on DS415+ with DSM 6.1.3-15152 Update 4 and I am deseperately seeking for help. The package is running, 2 Squeezeboxes, a Boom and Squeeze Player on S4 can see and connect to the server. But I couldnt play anything. All songs seemed to play for about 10 seconds, then jumping to the next one. But that was only on the Squeeze Player screen, none of the player really plyed anything. Streaming a few internet radios went well. Only on the S4 I could play all my music, none of the other players. So I decided to reinstall Synologys LMS package. Now I am stuck, all players are connected, but no web interface is ever loading. So no configuration, no music no nothing. Does it have to do with the the chaos of php5 and php7, MariaDB5 and MariaDB10, apache and nginx on Synoboxes? I can give you full access to the server if you are interested to help. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Synology 7.9.1 packages
Update: OK, the interface is reachable, my fault, the link from DSM was using my DDNS and not the internal IP. Using the Squeeze Player and Squeeze Commander apps on Samsung S4 works without any issues. Streaming internet radios to Squeeboxes and Boom works as well. But thats it. Most musik does not work. It look like it plays for a couple of seconds, but no output, then skips to song and so on. Only a very few titles can be played, skipping to the next doesnt work, "connection timeout" Installed now LMS on a PC. Plays everything just fine. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Synology 7.9.1 packages
I very much appreciate the work on keeping squeezebox alive. Due to repeating annoyances of the official synology LMS package (vs 7.7.6) I was looking around, and found this version. I have installed it manually on my ds213air, and it worked immediately. Nevrtheless I have 3 questions: - according to 1st post, this package is discontinued. Does this seriously mean that there will be no follow-up any more, in one or another form? If there is a follow-up, where to go? I have searched the internet for quite a while to find out. - I installed LMSUpdate (manually) although the TS indicates a repository; using that repository I only see LMSRepack. Is there a repository for LMSUpdate as well? - the firmware of my Duet controller still works on version 7.7.6. In earlier occasions a saw the controller automatically updating to the same firmware version as the server. Should I worry about this? And if yes, how to proceed? Again thanks, and apologozise if my questions are stupid. mrtbart's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=46355 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107180 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

But since official development has stopped, there's no new firmware for the devices. I try to make sure I don't break compatibility in LMS. There's a 7.8.x firmware for Touch. I've actually started to dive into this, trying to create a package to solve an issue I'm facing with LMSUpdate 7.9.1 - which was not there in Synology's 7.9.0 beta package (see my thread on Audio::Scan). If I succeed, I will post a step by step list here. As it looks, there is no cross-compilation needed, but rather a defined moving/copying of files to the right locations. The procedure will be almost the same for ARM and intel based chips. Once described, somebody with the knowledge should as well be able to write a little script to execute the steps. Can't guarantee anything, but will try... Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Synology 7.9.1 packages
Hi Experts What is the best way to migrate from Pinkdots LMSRepack 7.9.1 - 1503129892 @ Sat Aug 19 09:00:13 UTC 2017 to the official new Synology Beta? Do I have an advantage with this step? thx for an advice Uwe Uwi's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16604 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=107180 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
