Maybe we need guys on street corners testifying and handing out miniature cds. Good luck with the restaurant. Stuart

Jumped through all the hoops and inspections yesterday and got to cook a little today. I'll have an open house tomorrow, run through the menu for family and friends Sunday and if things go super smooth- open Monday. If things go how they're likely to go- reassess and open Tuesday. The only drag is there has been a sore throat/flu/bug thing going around that I managed to get. The menu is mostly Northern Mediterranean, lots of fresh pastas, etc. The website should be a reality in a few weeks- at this point it's just basically a domain name. Thanks to all who've wished me luck and if you find yourself in this neck of the woods come on in. Nicholas

I will be PD and begin doing mornings Feb 1 on WCUL in Culpeper VA and while the format is a bit too HNC for me, it does pay about 30% better and I will have a bit of room to play with the music to bring some of the disaffected country listeners (read 35+) back into the fold. The best part is I get to go head to head with the jerk that fired me and since I built the jerk's station up, I'll take great pleasure in dismantling it 1 listener at a time. Re: I GOT A DAY JOB!
Good Luck, Mike. How is this going to affect TwangCast? I laid it all out on the table at the first interview then again at yesterday's final interview to make sure it doesn't come up somewhere down the road. Since the format is basicaly non-competitive, the new boss simply said, "have a good time" and complimented me on my initiative and entrepreneurial spirit. TwangCast is now over 600 titles in the library with this weeks adds including the Deliberate Strangers, New Ricky Skaggs, Dick Curless, Flat Duo Jets, String Cheese Incident, "Cry Cry Cry", Steam Donkeys, Countypolitans, Walter Hyatt and a bunch more Buck Owens and Ray Price. Re: I GOT A DAY JOB!
Congratulations on your job!!! Have to share my good news. Too soon to celebrate yet but I got an interview for the job I applied for in Denver!!! I think I asked earlier if there's anyone on this list out there? I realize the music scene isn't the same as Athens but maybe I'm growing up a bit g I did check Pollstar to see what kinds of bands come through and I'm real excited about all the bluegrass festivals. Wish me luck!! And maybe we can do something about the music scene if I get out there. I'll definitely have crash pad room for folks traveling through. Deb Sommer
