True. Also we now know for certain that the transition to the state of

It seems that most of the time is lost going from one folder/account to
another so that 5000 messages in one folder are searched through faster than
10 x 500 messages in seperate accounts/folders, which wouldn't be unlogical
(I think).

I also had less accounts and folders when I used 1.xx / 2.xx, so perhaps they
wouldn't search faster when I would try it out now.

"Read" messages stay "unread"

2005-11-28 Thread Mark Partous
Hello Beta-Bats,

All of a sudden (without leaving The Bat!) my unread messages stay "unread"
whereas they turned into "read" after a few seconds of reading.

The only way to make them have the read-status is using Ctrl + M.

Perhaps I am confused, but I don't even find the place where I can change the
setting (after how many seconds of "reading" the status canges to "read").

Should I see a doctor? Allie? :-)

Thanks. I kept surching in the global options...

I wasn't able to reset it though. That is, it seemed as if I could,

I haven't followed the discussion at all (and don't use the latest beta yet),
but what would be the condition on which to "filter" for having a message in

Mine is still disabled because, with the header on, messages I send to a
certain bank/insurance company (ING not to name it) are being refused. Now,
since the insurance branche has become very unreliable, I work with them as
little as possible, but I have some friends that work for the bank branch...

So, or I send them messages with another mailer or via webmail, or I
disable/enable the header every time. Perhaps I could make a QT for messages
that are to be sent to an address ending on @ing.be, without the header.

If that is possible at all (should check if there is a %No- macro for this)
and desirable (not affecting the rest of my outgoing mail, that is).

Oops! This message already took too much of my (at this moment) time. Still
have a PM from you to answer. Will follow later, if possible before 2006! :-)

The selection contains groups

2005-12-19 Thread Mark Partous
Hello Beta-Bats,

"The selection contains groups. Do you really want to delete them?"

That's what I get when I want to delete a group of messages with the
combination Ctrl-Shift-Del.

Of course I want to! Why make a key-combination and then cripple it with
such a (rather useless) additional question? Even if one should delete some
messages by mistake, they're still in the Bin, one can still get them back.

Is there a way to get rid of this? Or am I totally wrong and is this so smart
that we'd better export this kind of thinking to the domain of "Emergency Help"?

Calling 911, people first get connected to a computer asking them:

Are you sure you want to call 911?
If your answer is Yes, press "1",
If your answer is No, press "2",
If you don't have a clue,
   - press "45877992144887856887235999",
   - please confirm your choice!
If you want to hear the options once more, press "3",

PS: perhaps I have deleted the answer to my question with Ctrl-Shift-Del :-)

BA> you want to run a beta version. Has anyone actually pressed no? If
BA> so what happens?

please do not reply to it. It's an automated message that is being sent to

Not confirmed. Could it be you used "Del" instead of "Ctrl+Shift+Del"?

When you use "Del" (on a group of messages) you get the warning I described
before.

But in that case, I think it is safer to have this warning, because the "Del"
might have been pushed without knowing the consequences, while the
combination of three keys is likely to be wanted.

No OFTE. Same problems as with 3.64.03 (described before in BT).

Starting TB gives me a Invalid Class Typecast popup and in the attached

I get an account or a folder that probably is there (somewhere), but I cannot

Am I supposed to test any further under these conditions?

Alas, there's no plugin. Not for TB! nor for any other program.
Trying to convince the makers of Copernic to include TB! Email would probably
not be an easy task. OTOH, Eudora mail is supported.

I don't know enough about programming to answer your question.
Unless I am mistaken, TB!s QT's is not the only place where one has to use
two percentage signs in order to see one.

Now why didn't I use two percentage signs in the above sentence?
As you could see in my earlier message, I can. But it takes some
manipulation.

The reason is: in my profession I use the pro mille sign as much as the
percentage sign. So I have configured Shortkeys to show this: ‰ when I type
two percentage signs consecutively. :-)

TB! 3.71.03 disappearing

2006-02-27 Thread Mark Partous
Hello Beta-Bats & Bat-Listers,

Because it is a release version this message is CC-d to TBUDL.

Since I installed this version TB! has "vanished" several times. It may be on
for hours, then suddenly it has disappeared. It doesn't hang, it's simply
gone. Trying to restart it does not work. It starts but during checking the
mail (automatically) it disappears again.

The only way to get it working again is: log off/on or restart Windows.

Trying to get back to 3.71.01 doesn't help. I did not try to "reinstall" an
earlier beta-version.

This has happened every day now. It hasn't happened twice a day (I mean: if I
have logged off/on; If I don't do that I could be trying all day & night).

Could it be I am the only one that has experienced this kind of behaviour?

Customized Colour-Menu doesn't work

2006-03-16 Thread Mark Partous
Hello Beta-Bats,

Perhaps this has been reported before; I didn't see it then.

I had made an item on my main menu trough customization.
I used it to easily assign colours to messages.

Since some time it doesn't work anymore. Deleting it and rebuilding it
doesn't cure the problem either. I can assign colours, but only through
right-clicking (etc.)...

Has this been reported or are there any confirmations?

Can you add an item (container) to your main menu (I can) and add children to

I'm trying to add a container Kleur (Colour) and add sub-elements from
"message colour groups".
There's an icon for adding a container but none for adding a sub-element as
there was in this (3.72.04) version - see attached file: 4th is for

Even though I didn't have the problem, I took a look there too. Must have
been far more than 100 instances of the above there too.

So I copied what had to remain:
*.EXE,*.COM,*.BAT,*.CMD,*.VBS,*.PL,*.BAS,*.JS,*.JAVA,*.REG,*.SHS,*.PIF,
*.SCR,*.DLL,*.SSH,*.CHM,*.HLP,*.LNK,*.{*},

then right-clicked and chose select all, deleted the entire thing and after
that copied what should stay.

This way I was able to create a Menu Item Sub-Item
Kleur Urgent/Work
Urgent/Private
Tagged/Work
Tagged/Private
Normal

These are 5 of 10 colourgroups that have been defined.

After saving and closing Customiser, I have a Menu-Item with all 10 of my
colourgroups, repeated from top to bottom of my screen.

Furthermore, I cannot change the colourgroup of a message at all.

After reopening the Customiser I can see that the Container Item Kleur is
still there, but the names of the Sub-Container (Sub-Items above) have all
been replaced by the title of the item they belong to in the list of the
Customiser: folder colour group (see attached).

So, back to .04

I was merely joking and yes, you are right, it would only be applied when the

If you want to check it you could copy some messages with the same subject in
a folder, select the folder and

Tried it, messed up my Desktop settings (luckily I had saved my customised
setup), then got to the font setting but saw I had to install large fonts and
restart the computer.

I'm not going to do that (the risk of ending up with a blue screen is too
high) before I have made a new (True) Image of my F-disk (where Win 2000 OS
resides).

If the problem hasn't been resolved in a future Beta, I will try it out

Do you reckon I am responsible for that?

That nasty blue screen startup problem has cost me hours and hours in the
past. Sometimes it's a Windows Update that makes it occur.

This computer is used for business, I have installed several new applications
during the last few days so I'm not going to mess with it without
being sure I can restore from a very recent image.

BTW, I had to go back to 3.72.04 every time until 3.72.11 was available
because the intermediate were unusable for me. These are Beta's, not

This doesn't work for me either...

3.73 release candidate 1 didn't help me either. So, back to 3.72.04...

There's only two of us, and we're not suffering from the exact same problem?

The Email ISN'T created at all.

My problem was not the same as Vili's.

But just now I have tested .12 once more and I have found that Mass Mailing
didn't work for a QT containing the macro

'%SIGNCOMPLETE%-'

If that is not present, all works as expected.

Now is this a bug or was the fact that it worked before an unwanted feature?

I can now test what you described before.

v3.72.12:Bug:With macro %SIGNCOMPLETE%- in QT Mass Mailing doesn't work

2006-04-27 Thread Mark Partous
Hello Beta-Bats,

Refining my earlier message:

Open address book - File - Mass Mailing Using Template - Put in Outbox

No messages are generated if the QT contains the macro %SIGNCOMPLETE%-

Any confirmations?

Confirmed.

Now you try out the same with a QT containing the macro %SIGNCOMPLETE%- ?

Confirmed. Since no one else seems to have the problem, could you please try
if messages are still created if the QT contains the %SIGNCOMPLETE%- macro?
