It never worked this way. Data always come from a database document (.odb) which itself may be connected to a spreadsheet (worst choice) or various other tabular data sources (plain text, dBase, address books, true databases). Unforturnately, this matter of fact is striktly hidden from the user who started the idiotic mail merge wizard. Re: [libreoffice-users] Adding a footer to a page
I ended up with a similar problem. What was happening was that somehow my first page got defined as a cover page and so it wouldn't show the footer.. and then after that pages for split into sections some of which would show the footer some of which wouldn't.. turned out to be a big mess. Have you considered redoing the document.. it is just three pages as you say. If it's not complicated that might be your easiest option. -- Wolfkin http://about.me/wolfkin On Mon, May 14, 2012 at 11:51 AM, Dotan Cohen wrote: > I have a three page document which has been edited in various > OpenOffice and now LibreOffice versions over the past three years. [libreoffice-users] Writer: How to know the X, Y coordinates of an object on the page?
I have a particular document with a table which has a border around the cells. One strategic cell border has been removed, to align with the location of the fold when carefully folding a sheet of A4 paper. I now must edit the top of this document and I fear that I will not be able to line up the missing cell properly afterwards. I have no printer here to perform experiments with. Is there some way that I might measure the X, Y coordinates of the critical table border so that I can ensure that the correct cell border is removed after making changes to the table and to the top of the page? The Compatibility Pack is indeed intended for systems with Microsoft Office XP (2002) or 2003 and it enables those versions of Office, as modified, to open, edit, and save documents in the new "x" formats. But it is equally applicable to the freeware viewers (which are effectively cut-down versions of components of Office 2003) and enables the viewers, as similarly modified, to open, display, and print documents in the newer formats too. Re: [libreoffice-users] More crashes
Hi again, Although version 3.5.3-2 seems a bit more stable, I am still experiencing regular crashing, even with Java disabled. I imagine that if I submit a bug report, it's best that I use a version of libreoffice direct from TDF rather than through my linux distro? If that is the case, can someone tell me where to get the corresponding debug info from? One particular problem is that trying to copy-and-paste from a master document containing 8 sub-documents into a new document causes instant crashing. And some other spurious files seem to provoke regular crashes. So my questions are: 1. Any suggested work-arounds for the master document problem? 2. Is it worth my while getting a debug output for these other crashes? And where should I report it if I do?
