Black Vulture
The Neotropic Cormorant is still present. Several eBirders have reported it at
Cranberry Marsh today (best viewed from viewing platform at south end of
roadway from Lynne Shores parking lot -- parking fees in effect) in the morning
and early afternoon. I found it on the west breakwall at Whitby
Just had one at a marshy spot at this CA, in the middle of a windstorm of all
times. Got a couple photos of it hunkered down in a low branch of a tree
amongst some reeds.

Well it hasn't been a banner year at the lagoons. High water levels have kept
away the shorebirds. I visited again today and found the following:
1000+ Geese - mostly Canadas but I would not be surprised at a few cacklers in
the group
1 Snow Goose
3 Gallinules
Multiple Mallards, Teal amd W
Not unexpectedly a large number of sparrows arrived overnight in Scugog Twp.
and elsewhere. Lots of White-throats joined those already here. White-crowned
Sparrows in small numbers and several juncos were here at my feeders today as
was a towhee and thrasher – all new arrivals. Lots of Rusty Bl
Juvenile currently flying around Shirleys Bay viewed from the dyke looking
W. beautiful in morning light!
