I have coated 3/4 lenght headers now and the coating is not good, it rusted
through
the first winter, considering that the winters here are mostly 60F deg and rain
two
times a week I wont ever go with that again.
I actually read in Burns catalog that stainless have much less thermal

Clint…I thought about Stainless works, but wanted the coating to
eliminate much of the heat I have on my 454. With an 8-72 on top, it can and
does put out heat via the headers. I guess the Stainless headers could be
coated as well…but it just doesn’t seem right to coat a nice

Hooker does build excellent stuff but their A-body
headers don't like lowered cars. The Stainless Works tubes tuck in pretty tight.

I'm very happy
with the headers I bought direct from Jet Hot. They sold me Hooker Super Comps
for a great price and hat them coated and the difference is significant than
buying them already coated. They do excellent work on their
coating!!

Hi
again,
I
really wanted something bigger but Scott there answered that they wouldnt offer
anything else than 1 5/8"
I
totally agree that 1 5/8" are right for a 350, but my later plans include a
much bigger sbc (434 or 454cid) so if they offered 1 7/8" I'd go for that rig

Stainless Works will build their headers with 1
5/8", 1 3/4", or 1 7/8" primaries. 1 5/8" tubes would be my preference for my
350.

Hooker also builds some of their headers now in
stainless. If I ever switch to stainless headers,Stainless Works will be the
ones I use.

I think you’ll find three basic
choices – 160, 180, and 195. Personally, I’ve always used
180s, and like the previous poster, have done so for 15 years. I think
160 is a little cool for full temp, but that’s me. You’d do
fine with either.
195 is a common OEM thermostat temp, I

Unspring weight is weight that is not
supported by the springs on the car. The most obvious example would be
the wheels & tires. The complete rear axle would be another component
that is ‘unsprung weight’. I’m going to guess that the
front a-arms and spindle assembly also fall into this
For you guys needing the above,Alex LaRue is the

After
checking several agencies, and finding out my normal car insurance would not
give me the coverage I want, I went with Grundy! Great price and unlimited
mileage! They were recommended to me by a car museum! So far so good!!
