A friend of mine recently bought a carrier to put in
the 12-bolt rear in his Nova, and is trying to find
out what kind of carrier it is and what gears are
available for it.
He said the part # on the carrier reads 3869789.
Would anyone happen to know what this might be out of,
or what stage
Jim...
Here is a couple links that I have found useful. I looked real quick but
didnt see the part number out listed but you can check them out anyway.
This arent Chevelle specific but the stamping on the carrier seems to hold
true throught GM rear ends. Hope this helps.

I appreciate it. I am curious where you have
yours mounted. I've seen a picture of one where it was positioned directly under
the master cylinder, with nothing more than the brake lines themselves holding
it in place. I would imagine most people have it mounted on the
frame?
Yeah, if you
Larry,
Ill snap some pictures today for yah. Mines right underneath the master
cylinder, held up by the lines. However I hear this is bad, because of the
p-valve jumping around, over time the lines will crack. There is a L bracket
that mounts right there, that you can actually bolt the

I have Hooker Super Comp headers with 2.5" mandrel bent tubing. H pipe with
Flowmaster 40 series. A pretty popular setup, and for a good reason. Sounds
really good. Not too loud, but not too quiet either. They really open up when I
stomp on it.
I have Hooker Competition headers, Flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers, and
mandrel-bent 2.5 tailpipes on my BB. I had my muffler shop run the pipe
between the collectors and the mufflers, just before it goes over the
axle. The Flowmaster pre-bent pipes fit fairly well, the muffler shop was
