Just visited the Clark's Grebe at the pond Exactly 2 miles north of the exit
from I 70 at Silverthorne. It is a lone bird in breeding plumage. Saw a
pair of Yellow warblers and the requisite Red-winged blackbird, crow and
magpie.

There is a singing Northern Parula in North Boulder just east of the
intersection of 16th and Hawthorn Ave, where the Farmer's Ditch crosses
under Hawthorn Ave. There's a paved bike path that leads from there to the
south, toward the Community Gardens. It's been singing from there for two

Yesterday on the Cheesman Lake BBS route, we saw and heard Evening Grosbeaks at
about eight stops; we haven't encountered them on this route for several years,
and never this many. Several of them were in two Atlas blocks that the route
traverses.

After about 30 minutes of searching, Joe Roller, Loch Kilpatrick and I re-found
the Wood Thrush at Norma's Grove. It was south of Rd 100, in the large
Cottonwoods lining the creek. Crow Valley Campground did not produce any
rarities.

At 2:30 pm today the northern parula was still in the locust trees as
reported by Richard Trinkner. I first saw it south of Hawthorn. It
then moved gradually north to the other side of Hawthorn, singing
frequently. I had some good looks and was able to
Many American Pipits all over the slopes of Mt. Evans above treeline
today.
Also a group of about 30 Common Ravens, working methodically downhill
together to feed.
And a couple of white-crowned sparrows at Summit Lake.

Boxelder trees that are infested with what Dave Leatherman has identified as
