Its a good question, and something that I have not been able to find a
simple solution to for a couple of years.
However, in the interim I have been ripping my DVDs to full size ISO
images. This ripping process gets rid of the encryption and removes
macrovision and region restrictions and other s
DVDs are different from CDS.
What you want to do it just rip them without any additional encoding or
compression. I have all my DVDs ripped whole to a large NAS box.
The two main ways of doing it is to either rip to a ISO disk image or
in IFO file mode where the files on the hard drive are the

It should not make a difference if you have "play other songs..."

My SqueezeBox Controller shows a red wireless icon that is supposed to
indicate an out of range situation... However, I am pretty much right
on top of my wireless router, and still seems to control everything
normally...
Why is it showing red? And why won't it go back to white without a
reset?

in Bridged mode battery life is substantially less than a standard
wireless mode. I would say you should see double the performance of the
battery using a wireless router.

I have the same problem, but have no idea what is causing it. Until a
few months ago, Bloomberg played fine via SN and SC. I sent Radiotime
an email about the matter, but never did receive a reply. It could be
that the URL contains some form of "DRM" that allows playback on only
approved devices
I have 5-6 hrs of battery life for the Controller out of its cradle as
well, using bridged mode.
Power management settings are standard.

Oh come on now Mike. We both know that is only on the new Logitech
Branded Squeezeboxes and the OP didn't say which logo he has. Logitech
had to do something with those webcams they didn't sell!
I checked server settings on for the program (program is located on C
Drive. Music is on the E Drive. ) I tried reassigning the PLAYLIST to
the c drive folder where the squeezebox program is. Same problem. The
saved PLAYLIST is only 1kb.

Nope, it's just not that simple. It's actually a SqueezeCenter-side
change that has to happen for this. That's actually how the controller
defines the button handlers for a given "playable" item.

A: No.

do not use the controller it lasts about 6 hours. This is way to short!
My ipod touch with WLAN enabled lasts for days when not used (with

RadioIO has a selection for local radio stations...
How does it know where I am located? I don't recall entering in a
location identifier (zip code, city, etc)... I know that the
SqueezeCenter can likely pull my timezone (i.e., "Pacific"), but that
is not enough information to filter SF Bay Are
