I realized that, although I saw it as a possible fix in a single email the
other day, no one had put out an actual topic describing the fix for players
with the Dual Core options on (I've only seen it happen for those with it
on, though I may be wrong!). I tested various situations, and it always

I asked about this a while back, and as far as I know there is still no way to
make the net console only listen on one interface or IP:

Source DS binds to one IP (Or every IP) for everything, and you can't
specify different IP's for different ports. Like you mentioned the
easiest/best way would be to use a firewall.

I'm utilizing the net console with a 6 forked machine. I rent a
dedicated server with a buddy, and I've got my own IP on the server
(one of five). I want to make the net console port only active on one
interface, or only on localhost (instead of all the other IPs).
I know I could use iptables an
The beta has been updated. . Please run hldsupdatetool to receive it with
"-beta hlds0319" on the command line.
The specific changes include:
Server changes:
- Fixed hltv displaying a bogus steamid
- Fixed mp_timeleft not updating in server rules (or any unlogged cvar for that
matter)

The master server protocol isn't very forgiving and srcds isn't trying
hard either. Every 5 minutes server will send one p
That would explain why versus doesn't work. I had removed the steamgroup
and it worked again. Today I re-added it to see what happens, and I got
strange results:

216.75.12.
That would be a bug, we will fix that up.

Yes, almost all of those IDs belong to VALVe employees, so they won't be
able to join server with a HLTV which has the same ID as them :p

I'm experiencing the same problems. I already created a post here
about the steamclient crashes.

Its not a Problem with the Ram! Our Ram was changed but the Error are not
gone.
Must be a Problem with the libs or unix-binaries.

Hi all,
Since some weeks we have much trouble with all of our Steam Servers...
css,tf2,dods,dod and so on
On start they are requesting an Update for the Games "-autoupdate"
normally this went very fast maybe 10 secs
but since 2 or 3 weeks the servers are needing one minute or more to
start becaus
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't some of those SteamID's belong to
Valve employees? What would happen if they also join the server?

I seriously doubt that. I'm very aware of memory incompatibilities so
we've ran Goldmemory and Memtest86+ for over 24hours both on all
servers. And all servers (4) are having same segfaults. And servers are
populated with ECC memory.
No other software causes segfaults.

A serious advice: replace your RAM. If you get alot of these segfaults, it's
a bad or incompatible RAM.

Have same problem our servers. We're running Debian 5.0 Lenny on Q6600
and Q6700, with custom 1000hz kernel (w/ or w/o PREEMPT).

Hi!
A few weeks before I posted concerning this topic, but nothing happened. So I
post again and look forward to get help.
The Problem is, that Left4Dead crashes during the campaign. This never happened

There appears to be a 63 character limit on the gametype string, its the
one that contains steamgroup number, search key, l4d gametype and some
more tags. (You can see what your server is sending in gametype by using
'sv_showtags' command in console, 'Private' line)

We got a server crash today (segmentation fault) right after a team switch
on pl_badwater. Some seconds before the crash, the console showed:
Dropped nina from server (Disconnect by user.)
Entity 1061 (class 'tf_ammo_pack') reported ENTITY_CHANGE_NONE but
'm_hOwnerEntity' changed.

As I see now, the HLTV can get every possible SteamID, we got:
STEAM_0:0:0
STEAM_0:1:0
STEAM_0:1:1
STEAM_0:1:2
STEAM_0:0:3
STEAM_0:1:3
STEAM_0:0:4
STEAM_0:1:4
and so on. It seems something increases on every connect.
Best regards

HLTV got STEAM_0:0:2 as SteamID instead of BOT like in the past. Do you plan
to change this or will this remain in the future?

As I remember, there are some XBOX configs in some games too. So I think
that valve isn’t filtering any content especially for servers, because Linux
L4D version downloads dll/exe files :-)
