I presume you meant virtual CDs. Well, I'm not sure I quite understand that

I'm sure I'm missing something, but honestly, I don't get the point
of this utility.
Why pay 30 bucks for functionality that already exists in osx?
Creating iso images, and mounting them via the file system is
something that osx already supports, and has done so since it's
beginning.

You're totally missing the point. A virtual CD is not at all the same as a CD
or DVD image. What this utility does is to create a virtual CD drive so, for
example, you can burn a CD to it using iTunes. Once the virtual CD is burned,
you can then play/rip the audio tracks into whatever f

Well, I was puzzled. All file systems are created equal under unix.
I've been using unix variants since 1992, and unix as a whole doesn't
care where the file system is, on hd, across the world, or in the
next room. That's why I was wondering why this program was necessary.
I've since done

Hello Travis
OK, just to explain a little more. This software emulates the CD driver so that
a virtual disk is created. In effect what you have is 2 internal CDRW drives.
You can write to, delete from, close and eject this drive just as you can a CD.
The obvious difference being that there is n

Hello a
Yes, you can burn audio CD's to virtual disk as that's one of its main

Interesting Gordon, (I'm also late to this thread). So in that case could one
burn audible books to CD using this technique?
Note I'm not suggesting anything illegal here Audible content can be burned to
CD already however one must own the books.

Hi Donal
Anything which you can burn to a physical CD can be burned to the virtual CD.
As it's a kernel extension, any application can use it, including iTunes.
