loop-mount the 5 CD-isos and export those mount-points for NFS.
However, with beta1, I'm not getting very far:

packages to use for optimal multimedia experience on OpenSUSE factory. And

chip isnt supported by X.org itself (radeon does work only up to X850,

You don't mention the size of the memory for the VM session. I have seen
SuSE try to use the swap partition, if there is not enough memory during
installation, and this can cause the symptoms seen in the first try.

IMO, if you want to use a stable system with mp3 support and all that
stuff, use a stable release.
If you want to contribute by testing Factory and/or alpha/beta releases,
please do so, but you don't need mp3 support to do that.
