There is a certain way of rendering (if that's the right word) water that
seems to have been fashionable for a while. Not sure if I'm a great fan
myself, but I still had to try something similar myself. The results are in:

photos for review last month. The two that were well received here,
failed to get in, but the other two i send as fillers are now in. Go
figure.
So with that in mind i have started to send in my birds in flight photos.

I did have to stare through the view finder for quite a while to get a
shot that showed all the flags more or less fully unfurled. This was
to my eye the most pleasing of the half dozen images I snapped while
amusing passers by with my bizarre behavior.

I notice the blue bits on the tail. The color is out of sync with the
general camouflage of the coloration. Is that part of the insect, or
something it picked up somehow?
