Since you aren't getting video or sound, I'd check the main ribbon cable
that connects the top half of the computer (screen, speakers, microphone) to
the bottom half (motherboard). Make sure it's plugged in firmly and not
damaged.

will a newer g3/250Mhz/1Mb card for pb1400 work in *all* 1400's or
just the 117

Hi!
A few months ago I bought an upgraded 540c from a guy in eBay. I
thought that it was the common 100 or 117 MHz PPC upgrade, but no.
It has a 88 MHz upgrade. All my tech programs report a 88 MHz PPC. And

have a fried logic board, after being dropped; but all parts and peripherals
seem to be working fine (tested on other 3400), and the screen
I just picked up 2 Duo 230's from a school that was tossing them, along

This does not always occur.

Hi folks,
I want to add RAM to my daughter's 3400 and would like to download the
tech manual. Unfortunately when I try the links at
http://www.accesscom.com/~gamba/manuals.html neither download site appears
to work for that manual at this time. (I have successfully downloaded other
