Take the lock with you, but use something like a binder ring or a hitch pin on the airline. Securely fasten whatever you use to the case and hope they put it back right if they do open the case. If you use a lock, hang the key on the lock. Use a cable tie to keep both the key and the lock

I get them in the large boxes. I need 'em. Whenever I finish a new plane I fold a hefty bag up neatly and tape it inside the fuselage. That way I have one handy when I need it. I wish I could find a really tiny shovel that would fit in the plane - it would save a trip back to the truck

I make my own horns from carbon laminate. Use slow CA glue to laminate as many layers that you need. Glass laminate will take out your jigsaw blade in one minute. Carbon laminate will not kill your saw that fast. A laminated carbon horn will also outlast your sailplane. . RCSE-List

Yhe problem with clips and locks other than a TSA Lock is that I have had vandalism and got Sportube HALVES coming out of the baggage conveyor. With the TSA lock, you can stand there and help the TSA inspector take it apart, and put it back in, and supposedly it will not be reopened after that
