Have a look at http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=440307.
It's about the crash of a Stratos SL/e, tentatively blamed on an SBEC,
which is a stand-alone battery eliminator.

I have owned both a 60" JW and an M60. If you are primarily flying
frontside, as opposed to dynamic soaring, I would choose the M60. I
can't comment from personal experience on any of the others.
I have also seen a LEG One D (I believe with the MH-32 wing) fly, and it

I've used about a billion Quantum 8s with never a hiccup, for what
that's worth. My eyesight doesn't appear to be up to RCSE standards,
however, so I doubt I've flown at the kind of range that many others

The Extreme DS is set up so the elevator servo goes inside the fin, making the
linkage about 1 1/2" long. There's room in there for a 5125 or a DS168. I
don't know if a WingMaxx would fit or not.

I just got some tungsten powder and it's impressively dense. I haven't put it
to use yet, so I can't speak from experience about its properties.

Hi Edgar,
There is a Sanyo NiMH HR-3U that's 2300 mah. There is also an AP brand NiMH
cell AP-2300AAH that's 2300 mah. Both have button tops. I have not tried
either. http://www.batteriesamerica.com has them both. I'm pretty sure the
Sanyos are widely availabe.

I'm sorry I picked a public fight with Gordy. Nobody needs that. I'll not do it
again.
I can't say I completely regret it, because it did draw out Joe. I found his
contribution quite enlightening.
