Skype is probably not going to release their protocol. Both the protocol and the official client are heavily encrypted and obfuscated because Skype wants to discourage reverse-engineering. I am afraid that Skype will not open their protocol before AIM, ICQ, MSN and Yahoo have switched to XMPP. -
