Thanks for the quote from the Garmin site.
So.. if you log at the smallest interval possible (1 sec), you will
produce about 12MB of tracklogs per 24 hours.
In theory, 12GB is enough space for ]~1000 24-hour-days, but in fact the
file system used by Garmin is (or was?) limiting the number of fil
I sent a message to someone some time ago about speedlimit=80;110, but
this is an off ramp and has no individual signs going from 110 to 60,
do anyone have any suggestions on how to tag this?

According to Garmin, the limitation of 2GB per mapset was removed in
firmware 3.90 for the 60Csx

However, there are other limits in terms of tile numbers (I think its

Hi Pete,
Thanks for that.
Most of the areas we are intending on travelling to at the moment have
little or no osm coverage, even the roads.
So the 4x4 will have the vehicle pc with osm and topo maps on gpsdrive and
the hand held will have shonkymaps, which are similar to the topomaps on

I didnt go for the 76, because its too bulky for me.
The 60 series is waterproof to the same standard (IPX7) as the 76. I

Hi,
I dont know much about shonkymaps,

My opinion about the device: In comparison to other models, the 60Csx
delivers the best package in terms of accuracy, device layout and pri
Hi All,
I'm looking at buying a handheld gps, probably Garmin, that can have the
osm maps and shonkymaps loaded.
This will mainly be used for bushwalking, thus the shonkymaps, so I'd like
to be able to have both available all the time.
Is anyone here using a Garmin with osm maps and/or shonkymap
