I would say that this is a long way from Low Importance. As a desktop
user I hit this bug dozens of times per day, and over time this is
incredibly frustrating to the point of having installed several
alternatives, and even considering dropping Unity/Gnome in favor of KDE
(or something sane).

After I deleted the Unread search folder and created it again, it
worked. It seems that the unread status is back up.
What changed was evolution-data-server to version 2.24.2-0ubuntu1.
This is step in the right direction, although other criteria don't work.

Yes! It works. I agree with Alexander, it should be present in the bug
4 months into the hardy releasy and six into this bug, and flash is
still not working. I've seen some possible fixes in this bugreport, but
no definitive solutions.
I have seen many new users change back to Windows or to other distros
because of this bug. Sorry guys, but this really needs fixing.
Moving libflashsupport.so out of the way fixes my issues. Thanks a lot.
The problem is that it is not easy to debug firefox, and apport is
failing (invalid retrace). So it would it would be nice to have some
understanding of how to provide useful backtraces, even if just to tell
apart bugs. If not

I tried Alpha2 (http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/hardy/alpha2) and it
properly recognized the hard drives, so it's working up to that point.
It's not my laptop, so i cannot test a clean install on it. I say this
because the feisty install also required some major tricking to boot

After some code checking, the Xinerama stuff is already in the git
package that John Dong put together. The patch fails to apply because
it's already there. After some investigation along with John, Xinerama
works !great!. There is an explicit need to +xinerama to the XGL startup
script, but after

seem to have dropped the Xinerama stuff. Could this be why my windows
(gnome-panel, splash, etc) are appearing between screens ? My dual
monitors are like one big screen, with windows and panels spanning

Nice catch.
If that doesn't work, i can only assume that it is X700 specific. I
would recommend that you take the following steps:
1. Try the new driver release 8.34.8 and see if it works. You can find
information on how to install here:

Did you manage to put the laptop to sleep using Fn+F4 and the sleep.sh
