.xlsx is a proprietary file format for M$’s spreadsheet program. The easiest

You can find the path of the backups in Preferences … OpenOffice -> Paths
Keep in mind that Backups are only written when you Save the file, which is
either press the Save Button or when you Save before you close the file.
The AutoRecovery is only for Recovering the file in case of a Sys

Is there a way to open an excel file that has been password protected. I no
longer have Excel so I can't remove the password that way. When I try to open
the file in Spreadsheet it opens up a filter selection box. I have chosen
several of the excel formats but nothing seems to work.
