(313) DEMF prediction
Ok, we're a week off but my prediction for most played tune at DEMF is Greg Gow's 'The Bridge'. Any others? robin... Ps. I know this goes contrary to my previous posts on this Transmat release but I've heard Kenny Larkin play this out recently :)

Re: (313) DEMF prediction
what's irritating to me is that the bridge should have been huge LAST YEAR, but Derrick was hogging it and not giving out promos of it to the big djs. he was the only person who had it. RE: (313) DEMF prediction
My prediction is it will be damn good the best of them that Paxahau have done so far. I will hear the tales, wish I'd gone, decide I might next year. But then fall prey to either not wanting to fly (for environmental reasons, I love flying for its own sake) or if I decide I can do that I should do it to somewhere else. Damn. Have a wonderful time all you who do make the trip I hope it brings good things to the city. -Original Message- From: Robin Pinning [mailto:robin.pinn...@me.com] Sent: 19 May 2010 20:42 To: Frank Glazer Cc: 313 List Subject: Re: (313) DEMF prediction On 19 May 2010, at 20:05, Frank Glazer cpe1704...@gmail.com wrote: i really think at this point the bridge has been out long enough that people will be over it. (313) Shopping for Music in Detroit!!
Since I'm going to be in Detroit for DEMF, it goes without saying that I MUST go shopping for music. What record stores are still open in Detroit? I need techno, dnb, 2-step, dubstep, etc. Vinyl or CD, but I prefer CDs, especially used since I'm on a tighter budget than I'd prefer. I was hoping to be able to go to Melodies and Memories, Detroit Threads and Record Time. Maybe I'll make the trek out to Flat Black and Circular once again (so far away, but always worth it). Are there any other stores still around that're worth the few coins I have to spend? According to the Submerge website, Somewhere in Detroit will be open DEMF weekend. I've never been there. I've never had to make an appointment to go record shopping anywhere. The whole idea is foreign to me. What's the place like? Is it large or small? Is it mostly stuff that they sell on the website, or is the in-store stock more extensive? Can I work my way through the store in an hour or so, or should I set aside more time? -- {}0+|
Re: (313) Shopping for Music in Detroit!!
Somewhere in Detroit is a must, for so many reasons. It's also close to downtown. Melodies and Memories I could lose myself in for days. A smaller, newer shop that sounds interesting is Ya Digg, written up here by Denise D: http://denisedjsdetroit.blogspot.com/ I don't imagine Detroit is a great place to shop for DB, 2-step or Dubstep. I thought everyone interested in those genre were mail-ordering from Boomkat.com ;-) On Wed, May 19, 2010 at 4:40 PM, darnistle darnis...@cafe-ebola.com wrote: Since I'm going to be in Detroit for DEMF, it goes without saying that I MUST go shopping for music. Re: (313) Shopping for Music in Detroit!!
Thanks for the suggestion!!! I'll have to add Ya Digg to my list of places to hit while I'm in town. I used to buy really excellent DNB, glitch and all manner of whatnot at Record Time. I moved away before the dubstep thing got big, but I assume I'll still be able to find current musical forms there and a lot more. or maybe not. Last year, I went to Detroit Threads for the first time (i kick myself for having never gone there when I lived in the area) and snagged some really excellent 2-step, as well as some clothing that I might just feature at the festival this year... :) For the record, when I'm shopping online for DNB/dubstep and willing to pay full price, I head to juno, not boomkat. For some reason, I feel suspicious of boomkat. {}0+| On 5/19/2010 5:51 PM, kent williams wrote: Somewhere in Detroit is a must, for so many reasons. It's also close to downtown.
