best of the year if not the very best. im a fan of his work as a
hiphop producer in general, but this is more on par with theo parrish

album enough. there's no rapping, and its more like a sound collage

soulful way. alot of it is very sad/melancholy sounding, and for good
reason i suppose. its his masterpiece, i reccomend it highly.

Re: (313) NZ techno ' . kind of .. .

yeah wicked.

I was there, ( Wellington, Queenstown, Dunedin ) in Jan. Primarily for
Kaikoura Roots, which was a good intro into the cross culture of the NZ
scene, ( lots of different styles on display ). Fat Freddy's doing that
stretched out hypnotic acid groove :)) they are definately from outta
space :P

Am thinking about going back next year and wouldn't mind picking up some
smaller gigs, maybe mid weekers. Any hints on making that happen would
be sweet.

Also the thing I liked the most about NZ was the evident collaboration
the artists have with each other. People are really into the focus of
the jam, making music for the music. laid back. :))

Saturn is a source of intense radio emissions, which have been
monitored by the Cassini spacecraft. The radio waves are closely
related to the auroras near the poles of the planet. These auroras are
similar to Earth's northern and southern lights. This is an audio file
 of radio emissions from Saturn.

RE: (313) Prince musicology tour

2005-07-12 Thread Andrew Jackson
His Australian tour in 2003 was billed as a greatest hits tour, though
it was more like a preview of the musicology album ( the album was
released a few months after the tour here ).

Hmm, we are fast approaching the limits of my knowledge.

Maybe the tour was something to do with his 'Rainbow Children' album?
Looking at the realease date (late 2001) that would make sense.

So... I imagine he would be coming to the UK... but you might have to
wait a while.

Actually it is, but it's full of interuptions. It looks like they were
having a lot of problems with the stream and they were playing some
other music in between, plus they are talking over parts of it. So
there's basically only half the UR gig, with other music in between, but
 it's better than nothing :)

UR start at the end of first file (only couple of min) and play all the
way through the second, and the last 15 min are in the last file.

Well, I'll just say that in doing Ableton DJ sets, I've mostlyquit using
mp3's, using only encoded vinyl and stuff I've ripped from CD's I own. I
think avoiding mp3's really improves the sound quality. So I'm a bit
skeptical what sound you'd get DJ-ing off i-pods.
