Bizzarre Inc and Altern-8 both worked out Stafford. If you get chance to see any of the old videos, keep an eye open for a very scruffy looking bloke with red wellies on... the late Russian Rob. He used to stand in the town centre with a coconut doing a wierd dance. Mark's friend Danny used to work in Global Groove in Hanley. Do you mean the 10 track LP by Nexus 21 entitled The Rhythm Of Life on Blue Chip Recordings (1989)? It includes the following tracks: Life Keeps Moving, Bass Inclusion, Techno City, Girls, Music, Real Love, Logical Progression, Can You Feel The Beat, Detroit B-Boy, and Techno Symphony. I picked up my copy from a seller on GEMM and also have seen it on ebay. Do you mean the 10 track LP by Nexus 21 entitled The Rhythm Of Life on Blue Chip Recordings (1989)? It includes the following tracks: what was the deal with Blue Chip, anyway? I have a great funny hip-hop sampled kind of dance music thing on there by Rhythm Mode D from 89 or so, and I think Archer or Peat was listed on the credits? Have to dig it up but it's almost like Double Dee Steinski sounding... hip hop breaks and samples but they're great party tracks! peace Matt MacQueen

Matthew: what was the deal with Blue Chip, anyway? i'm fairly sure i read somewhere that Blue Chip was the precursor to Network and/or somehow involved Neil Rushton. there was also a Blue Chip Studios, in Stafford (or Stoke), where Altern8 produced a chunk of their tracks and where iirc Laurent Garnier produced his remix of The Reese Project I Believe. I'm pretty sure that 'kool kat' was the pre curser for 'network' records... I know it sounds bad but there was an album called 'acid trance' on blue chip from 88 which is pretty damn fine aswell... You can hear how it morphed into nexus 21 from the lp Matthew: what was the deal with Blue Chip, anyway? i'm fairly sure i read somewhere that Blue Chip was the precursor to Network and/or somehow involved Neil Rushton. there was also a Blue Chip Studios, in Stafford (or Stoke), where Altern8 produced a chunk of their tracks and where iirc Laurent Garnier produced his remix of The Reese Project I Believe. One of them (I can't remember which) did that hiphouse imitation Slo Moshun's Bell Of New York (if I remember correctly - it was distributed in the UK shrinkwrapped and complete with import stickers, along with a misleading press release to hoodwink the UK press into thinking it was from NJ), but that was several years ago. Are you sure that Slo Moshun record wasn't by Ashley Beedle? Funnily enough I actually saw them playing 'live' (standing behind big cardboard 8's with a few dancers on stage) last summer in my home town of Chorley (back of beyond Lancashire Market town). Chorley never has any sort of events of any description so it was somewhat of a surprise to see them playing to say the least. No new tunes, just all their old well know stuff. ph.
