Aiight... I posted a track a few weeks ago for an ID and got my Geosh_tties

all of the tracks from my last 1993 practice mix ID'ed. It's only 20
minutes long 'cause my mixing was horrible that day and I gave up (the a
side of that tape turned out pretty good tho, all hip-hop).

Good tracks, bad mixing. Find it at www.anodized.com/~gjones/practicemix.mp3

(313) track ID's/Derrick MAY

2003-02-07 Thread ao2019
Hey gang, due to the overwhelming responses (sike) from last time i
feel the need to ask again, anyone got track ids or tracklistings
for Derrick May at the DEMF and live at Fuse?

Anyways i'm a little sick of hearing about the skills/no skills/
computer/protools debate...you have run that issue to the
ground...Now tracks that Mayday has spun are more 313 than arguing
about a nonissue

And one more thing, I am looking for Jammin Gerald Factory Work on
Freak Mode out of Chicago, will trade or buy you a new car.
Thanks
And thanks to the person who id-ed the moodyman demf gig nice one.

Below is the text from Rush Hour's distribution mailout - #6 was released
last November...

Cheers,

 TERRY BROOKES
 Altered Perceptions
 DEEP 006

 Track listing:
 A1 Pressure
 A2 Tripitakka
 A3 Tripitakka (Deepart rmx)
 B1 Centre of the System
 B2 Vice

Terry Brookes is the first artist besides Deepart himself on the Deepart
label. His Altered Perceptions is his debut release. Terry is related to the
Deepart crew for many years and has musical talent running through his blood
as his father is an experienced musician, who has worked with the likes of
Bill Laswell. A very talented artist with a bright future ahead of him. The
Altered Perceptions EP contains 5 tracks of which one is a Deepart remix.

A SIDE is in a traditional Deepart style with 2 deeper, soulful electro styled
tracks as well as a Deepart remix. B SIDE contains 2 tracks. The first track
is in an early Underground Resistance style, with it¹s haunting strings and
pulsating bassline this builds up to a dancefloor Detroit techno track. The
second track reminds of an early Chicago, Mr Fingers in particular, house
track. A very intense, musical house track like it sounded in the 80¹s. It
 will still stand today!!!

[313] track id's pleeeease

2001-10-19 Thread nathan goode
hi all

got a few tracks that i'm dying to know what they are and who did them:

first off, from the Boo Williams mix on Deep House page the first track.
with the vocals:

Praise, Praise, Praise, Praise. i remember the days, when i thought i
was alone, life was always a maze sometimes i felt disowned. but you
were always there you have always cared. no matter how far i scream,
you'd already be there. now when i look back, i can see the things
you've done. and i hope to thank you, for my saviour and your son.

from the mike clark/norm talley set on freqdetroit a track with the
vocals:

whatever it takes, whatever it is i'll be there for you. it's all i
have to give now baby. to you my baby. take me baby, and take your time
right now baby. cos i want to love you all nite long baby. i want to
take you, wrap you in my arms. wanna love you all nite baby. wanna show
you what love really is. i wanna be there for you now baby, baby,
baby... (and so on).

and lastly, (i promise!!) from a glenn underground set on betalounge a
track with the vocals:

the first - i can barely remember, the flavour of you kiss on the tip
of my tongue. but i can still feel the moment. your spirit rushed thru
me like a river wild. your spirit rushed thru me like a river wild. it
wet me like an ocean crashing on the sands of the sahara. now many moons
have passed since we rode that wave, and many miles i've tred on my
journey home. lying on distant shores, a shred of hope flickers as i try
to forget. a once in a lifetime, never come your way again, wish upon a
star. love? is on my mind.

thank you

nath

 Mighty 313-spotters,

A huge task awaits you. I have some 7 tracks I'd really like to be ID'd.

First of all, there are two tracks laurent garnier played at the Weekend

Hi there,

It's the second track in the mix, first track being
Phuture's 'String Free', it has a kind of new wave
male vocal in it singing: my force is in my soul,
my force is in my heart, come to me, come to me,
love me, don't leave me, leave me alone, the track

of Jimi Tenor or New Order.

I haven't heard the mix (no speakers on this machine)
but I can tell it is...

Technasia - Force - Technasia (hear more at
http://www.technasia.com/ )

This was big for a little while last year...

And around 33 min into that mix there is another gem
I don't know. Reminds me of some of the softer stuff
of Johannes Heil. A typical Garnier-as-a-dj-track.

Right, part 2. I have this tape from a radio show
called Nightgroove, I believe in Frankfurt in
Germany. Laurent once again spinning the tracks. The
first 6 tracks of that mix are pure magic, and I
only know one of them... Here we go:

 Track 1: electro-track, machine vox saying: You've
got no work, because of me. I'm a machine, I never
sleep. And now you pray all night and day. A funny
 way, I'm human made

Track 2: definitely Björk, but probably a remix,
lyrics: I'm a hunter, I bring back the goods, I'm
not stopping, Leaving it all behind, someone told
me this was a rare remix by Funkstörung? Label?

Possibly Studio !K7, I think A Guy Called Gerald did
some remixes too...

Track 3: typical track for Garnier to play, heavenly
synth line, and a driving loop coming in around half
of the track going higher and higher, no vox here
 :-((

 Track 4 is ME's 'Ride' on Trax-records.

Track 5: WHAT IS THIS? Detroit-styled rhythms
and drums, synth lines equalling Jaguar, and then
suddenly someone starts stabbing a synth/organ sound
 in a Carl Craig way.

Track 6: purpose maker styled with an overwhelming
 synth kicking in

I'll have a listen on Thursday to the rest and try to
find out for you unless someone beats me to it:)

take care,
Nick (Dj Pacific:)

Re: [313] track ID's Ron Hardy Mix

2001-01-11 Thread Simon Pascoe

Hi,

I'll have a stab at two of these from your description (because I have no
way of listening to audio at work);

track 5: Trax-style all the way, female singing: Fall down on me, I need
you, I need you,etc

If it's an almost gospel-like vocal style with a stabby lead synth, then I
think the artist name is Tremaine and the track is called Spirit of Love.

track 6: Trax-style, male singing: Can't you see, everybody is dancing
with me...Music takes control, music that's good for your soul...

From the lyrics, I think this is Let the Music Use you by the
Nightwriters, I think it was on Trax, I'm sure somebody else on the list
will know waaay better than me though ;-)

Hope this helps, good luck with the others,

sImon

 RD,

 I have the second id

track 6: Trax-style, male singing: Can't you see, everybody is dancing
with me...Music takes control, music that's good for your soul...

It's The Night Writers Let The Music (use you) on Danica from '87
This was produced by Frankie Knuckles
(side note his new LP on Azuli titled Frankie Knuckles Choice - a
collection of classics IS A MUST!)

Wow this must have been fresh off the press when it was thrown into this
 mix.
This is a serious, serious mix and exactly where I am at musically.
After many years of playing deep house and Detroit techno electro I
 finally
started digging and exploring the years of music previous to and during
the
First Wave. This is the time period of the late '70's - mid/late '80's
 where
producers went from doing most everything live to using much of the
 availability
of the new drum machines and related gear. Both exiting and innovative
 times.
Detroit and Chicago in the thick of it!
I have never been to Chi-town and only started going to Motown in '93/ '94
 so my
direct influence to these times is all second hand info.

If anyone else on this list interested in these times and the music check
 out these

Right, I've got this tape mixed by Derrick May at Simon's in Gainsville (I
believe 1998), somewhere around 50min he plays 'Silvery Sounds' by Sound Of
