Hi The cuts are available on Itunes at the moment. Vinyl releases as soon as possible, the only problem is finding the right people to do the artwork for the releases. Re: (313) Recommendations for 1200s cartridges/styli

Basically, my two main criteria are maximum > stability and minimal record wear, and price isn't really that much > of an issue. The M44-7s have quite unpleasant highs, especially with vocals. Otherwise they track very good and have very small tracking force compared to other dj styli, which causes less wear on vinyl. Personally I would go for Shure M35x, which track a bit poorer, but sound better. But you should try them out before buying, since after the M44-7's the unimproved skip resistance did take some time to get used to, and I wouldn't describe my mixing style aggressive at all.
Re: (313) Recommendations for 1200s cartridges/styli
I like the Ortofons, and this doesn't really affect you, but the tone arms on American 1200s are different than the Euro ones, and Ortofons don't fit exactly right. Swap out cartridges too many time and the connects get flakey. I'd try and figure out if you have proper tone arms for Ortofons. The Shures are pretty nice too if you don't mind headshell/cartridge combos. On 8/13/06, Filip Sneppe (Yucom) <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Hi, I am looking into replacing my Stanton 500 AL styli on my Technics 1200 turntables. In the past years as a bedroom DJ, I've enjoyed doubling up records, aggressive mixing and scratching, so, after having tried Shure M44-7s on a friend's turntables, I now find that Stantons don't fit my mixing needs any more. However, I am in doubt as to whether to go for M44-7s, or perhaps go for some Ortofons. Basically, my two main criteria are maximum stability and minimal record wear, and price isn't really that much of an issue. Not that I'm on par with these guys, but what do folks like Claude Young, Mills, and Dave Clarke swear by ? I figure that, as far as techno jocks go, they're sort of the ones that give 1200s a serious run for their money. Would any of you 313 people consider things like Ortofon Qberts for techno DJs ? Any recommendations or experiences are welcome! Thanks in advance, Filip

Hi Laurenz, Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely check these out. It's too bad if there's not a lot of techno going on. But when it does happen, is it usually quality? And are there any really good local djs who spin detroit style stuff? Maybe some electro too? Thanks, Jamil -Original Message- From: Laurenz [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, May 02, 2001 3:51 PM To: Jamil Ali Subject: Re: [313] Recommendations? Hi, Welcome in Amsterdam. There are not that much techno-events in Amsterdam but you can check Vaaghuyzen (underground-dj-cafe) or Rushhour (record-shop, Spuistraat 98) for the things you want to know. Enjoy your staying!!
