(313) subject detroit vol. 2 CDR?
Recently I purchased a copy this disc from an online webstore, not direct from Subject Detroit. When it came it was a CDR with a slim case and no artwork. The seller said nothing about it being a CDR and I thought would be getting a real CD. Does anyone know if the ones Subject Detroit stocks are CDRs as well? Or are those real CDs with artwork? Thanks.
Re: (313) subject detroit vol. 2 CDR?
I actually bought off discogs.com, from a record store that sells on there. It's very annoying, plus I have no idea if it is legit or not. That's why I asked if the ones DJ Bone sells through the Subject Detroit online store are CDRs like this. I did send Subject Detroit an email about it also. I purchased a replacement copy at Record Time Ferndale a few years ago. It came in the original case. But the CD was a CDR. Didn't have the green screen on the actual CD. Hmmm. This one has a green paper label on the disc, the kind CD-ROM drives hate. Re: (313) Dj Bone (Subject Detroit) at Rogue Dublin October 5th
I wondered how long that would last. At the time, it seemed like a strange fit, then I realized half of the big guns of Detroit had relocated there, too. I wanted to bring him to Dallas, but I knew this town wasn't ready. However, there seems to be a turn for the better recently. . . Hmmm. - Original Message From: Greg Earle [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 313@hyperreal.org Sent: Wednesday, October 3, 2007 2:32:45 PM Subject: Re: (313) Dj Bone (Subject Detroit) at Rogue Dublin October 5th On Oct 3, 2007, at 8:00 AM, [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I miss seeing him on a regular basis. (313) Subject Detroit 3
The latest instalment from DJ Bone's mix series landed on my doorstep on Tuesday, I can tell you that it doesn't disappoint! The usual high level of mixing with a nice balance of Detroit techno soul tough beats, lots of feeling ... sounds like a worthy successor to part 2 to me. I need to digest it properly still, but my initial reaction is all good. Recommended! ** Entertainment UK Limited Registered Office: 243 Blyth Road, Hayes, Middlesex UB3 1DN. Saw this on another mailing list; it's a press release from Bone's g/f, Ahnne Araza. Big ups to the (313) list member that made the cut! ;) - Greg --- Begin Forwarded Press Release SUBJECT DETROIT VOLUME 3 MIX CD Mixed by DJ BONE Subject Detroit Vol. 3 is the highly anticipated follow up to DJ Bone's 2001 very successful Subject Detroit Vol.2 mix CD. This project has been in the works for over 3 years from the concept to the track-listing all the way up to the actual mix. For over 15 years mixing has been Bone's true art and this mix displays every facet of the skills that make him one of the best Electronic music DJs in the world. With this project Bone delivers an original, one of a kind and timeless experience. The concept came about when DJ Bone noticed how the vast majority of mix CDs are simply a bunch of high profile, hit songs compiled and mixed. There would be an abundance of focus on the songs and the big name DJ commissioned to do the mix as opposed to the actual mix itself. This and the realization that most were mixed and edited on a computer was enough fuel to motivate Bone to act. He wanted to push things further than the ordinary mix and really make this project unique. To do this Bone contacted some of his favorite producers and asked them to create new productions for him to use on the mix. The result is an entire mix of all new, unreleased songs from Aaron Carl, A Guy Called Gerald, Ben Sims, Mark Broom, Detroit Grand Pubahs, Scan7, Scan X, Futago Technologies, DJ Bone himself and many more. Subject Detroit Vol.3 is a live, 3 turntable mix of all unreleased songs done in true DJ Bone fashion, straight up Detroit style. Re: (313) Subject Detroit previews + more
Heya Bone's tracks are better in my opinion, but it does sound like lohie is taking a cue from Bone..which is a good thing. Also, I wanted to mention that Orlando Voorn has re-released basic bastard 4, and has now officially released basic bastard 5! And...(drumroll) ... Los Hermanos 5 is now available through Submerge ( on 7 inch) Did I mention the new hieroglyphic being samples! More great music, you can hear samples at dancetracks.com ... ... .. . you still reading? go get these records! ;) yeh don't get me wrong they're both super dope. I wrote that last message as the second track was coming in. that release is my favorite from bone so far. having given the rest a listen, I'm not as keen on the dj lohie (who is he?) as i am on the two bone releases, but it still kills 98% of recent techno activity imo. but that's just me.

OMFG!!! I've only gotten through the first track of longevity 1 and I'm floored. when the bass dropped I felt like jumping out of my cube and dancing like a manic freak!this is what techno IS! that vocal snip. I got this 12 for a long time and wonder who was the artist behind it. It´s called Unleashed and it´s produced by Subject Detroit. It was released on a label of the same name. I never heard of another release of Subject Detroit again. Who is the person behind and are there any other releases?? Thanx in advance. Re: [313] Subject Detroit
I've got Subject Detroit Vol 2 mix cd but where the hell can you get no 1 from. Can't seem to find it anywhere. Help, i need a copy cos vol 2 is ace. Saw DJ Bone @ Atomic jam at the weekend, and he was rather good, made a nice change from the usual bangin techno dj's they normally have. His set was suprisingly similar to his mix cd which was no bad thing. Next month normal service resumes with Dave Clarke, DJ Rush, Trevor Rockcliffe. stuart would that be DJ Bone by any chance?? i know his 2 mix CD's are called Subject: Detroit JEFF! _ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

RE: [313] Subject Detroit
I have a 2x12 called Subject: Detroit on Eukatech... Has the DJ Bone - Black Lives, which is pretty cool, but I particularly like Laurent Garnier's The Man with the Red Face and the Scan 7 song (I think it was Multi-ordinal Tracking Unit?) that is pretty original. These are really high quality pressings, which is a big plus. -Original Message- From: FC3 Richards [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, February 08, 2001 5:15 AM To: 'debonair'; ryan burns; 313@hyperreal.org Subject: RE: [313] Subject Detroit black lives, poverty, asperations! i love how he spins double copies of it on his mix CD...that is one of the best CD's i own. Re: [313] Subject Detroit
The person behind this is Detroit's DJ Bone. It's his record label and the concept was that each artist on the label was to be a subject. (he being subject 001 or 01 i believe). They were to be nameless, hence the quality of the records would only be based on the quality of the music on the record and not whose name is on it. I did a great interview for Massive Magazine with Bone. I'd post it, but I believe the disc is long gone and lost :/ d --- Arne Weinberg [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hello everybody...
