I couldn't go as I had some nappies to change! Reports back were generally good though- I was a bit sceptical if it would work in a Club enviroment as the snippets I had heard were dark and beatless but they went on around 12-ish so it was more like a gig and then the DJ's came on and took it up a level afterwards. (313) new Dopplereffekt LP 'Linear Accelerator' on Gigolo
Had a chance to listen to this at the weekend. It just couldn't be further from their previous stuff. If anyone heard the two tracks that were released as a single (Myon-Neutrino and Z-Boson), well, they are easily the most listenable of the six on there. It's like Kraftwerk's 'Radioactivity' LP (the sleeve artwork as well as the music) put through a noise blender, and frankly it was making my ears bleed. I just can't imagine ever voluntarily listening to it again. Anyone else heard it and want to comment?

Sounds like peas being thrown at a wall. Indeed, but layered with a deep 808 or 909 kick the ploppy 505 kick comes to its full right. And the hihats they are so beautifull. Not that hard as the 707, completely disco! and what about the latino percussion, even more tighter then a 727! The master of the TR505 is ofcourse the Egyptian lover, listen to his one track mind album for some debonaire 505 workouts. If I am correct on the last Miss Kitten there is a 505 too. (on that long moroder track).

On the Dopplereffekt subject, a few days ago a finnish DJ had a very cool record. It had a great Numan/Cybotron Cosmic Car-esque song on it with a dry TR505 beat and vocals singing something like Lego Blocks (? ;) ). He claimed it was made by Dopplereffekt before he became Dopplereffekt. I was too far out to remember the label, title and the band name. Even with that information, is it still possible to get that record somewhere? If not, As I am a fan of theTR505, legoblocks and Dopplereffekt I would be very happy man if someone could put that record on tape for me. (ofcourse postage is covered or I send a tape back with some obscure songs).
