[AI] hide/active windows with a shortcut key
good afternoon accessindia. here is another program that i use on my computer, its called lapin. my friend sean created it few years ago, what basicly it does is, it hides windows and shows them back on a key stroke so, you dont need to alt-tab again and again and again to reach to aplication that is opened to use it. well, okay, you need to change the .ini file according to your need, but, the read me file is included, and few examples are always given in the lapin.ini file. when you'll be adding windows in the .ini file, the easyest way is to vertulise the window for which you want to create shortcut, hit jaws key +home, and copy the tital of the aplication that never changes no matter what file you open in it. for example, internet explorer stays in the tital, no matter what website you open. i'm not writeing a full review, as i know, that read me includes everything that you need to know, and since its created by a blind programmer, there should be no accessibility problams with screen readers. if you want to check out his website, for few more programs that he uses, or for reviews ( he's fairly busy these days so he dont updates his site mor often , but still), the website is www.randylaptop.com, few words from the creater :- Dated: Sunday, January 27, 2008. I wrote Lapin a couple of years back for a friend. I use it daily: it's one of those programs that I had no clue how much I'd love it until it came into being. How to use it The software consists of two files. the Lapin.exe executable, and a Lapin.ini settings file. The settings file should be explored before you attempt to run the program. Within the settings file you can specify up to 64 windows attached to hotkeys. Whenever you press one of those hotkeys, the window is either hidden, or displayed. It can also be activated as well - there's an option in the settings file for that too. Why use it? Personally, I find it annoying to have to alt+tab through lots of windows. Even though there are alternatives available (such as navigating the taskbar via cursor keys and window switching functionality in JAWS), that doesn't solve the obvious problem. Simply put, you can only really use one program at once, yet you often want several open. Right this instant, is a good example. I'm working in a text editor, writing this document. But I'm also listening to music and waiting for an E-mail. I don't need either of those two programs on my taskbar and, therefore, the only other thing there is my FTP client, ready to upload this article to you. Should I receive mail or feel the need to do something my audio global hotkeys can't handle, I simply need press the key I assigned to Outlook or Winamp to show and activate that particular application. Hi The Banks are supposed to update themselves with RBI and other regulators. You are only facilitating them. There is no need to give a scanned copy. [AI] strange problem in IE6
I'm facing a strange problem. When I start to download any file from the internet, it starts downloading but after a second or two, I receive the following message and the file is not downloaded An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. This normally results if the peer application on the remote host is suddenly stopped, thegraphic 910 host is rebooted, or the remote host used a 'hard close' OK I have done it at least fifty to sixty times with same results. I'm so much frustrated that I'm not able to do anything. Can you provide any solution to this problem? I'm using windows XP with Jaws 9. a.p. Hello Delhi, I've received confirmation from 7 members willing to depart through Train from Delhi to Ahmedabad for joining the forthcoming AccessIndia convention. Hi, Probably, there exists an AutoCorrect entry that changes your original text to something else. Click Tools -> AutoCorrect Options to open AutoCorrect Options dialog box. This dialog box offers a check box option name 'Replace text as you type'. If this check box is checked, the Replace: and With: edit combo boxes contain original and new text combinations. You may look for an entry "G.Vamshi" without quotation marks in the Replace: edit combo. If you find one, simply activate the Delete button and then the OK button. Now try the text in Ms-Word to confirm if this works as desired. Phani, Vijay, Amer I am not surprised that you are stil having problems with Banks. I had told you that the ground level fight will go on for quite a while. If IBA issues the circular then things will be better but it will not end the problem. Anyway I am mailing each of you the RBI circular as a pdf file.
