[AI] Help Requested on Reading Business ENews Papers
Hi Friends, Since part of my work requires me to be aware of latest business developement especially in the corporate and equity markets, I require to go through business news papers on the internet apart from some business websites from time to time. I had visited epaper.timesofindia.com and went to Economic times, however, once the same is opened, I cannot read the titles of the news and articles for it to open. JAWS reads it as immage mouseover or something. would really apritiate if someone can give me the trick to read the same. Also, if there is a way to download the entire newspaper in PDF, that would be great, I may then convert the same through Finereader even if its an immage. the website states so but I could not find any link for the same. Further, if you also may help me similarly for other papers likes Mint Business Standard Hindu Business Line Financial Express, that would be really helpful. Await your help please. Re: [AI] Regarding Extra Time in Examinations under UGC Rules.
Extra time through scribe is a must. US department maintains 50% extra time, Indian education system follows one third extra time. If the exam is for theoretical subjects where one just need to write essays one can do without extra time but when there are some numbers, tables or diagrams involved extra time become important. We need to insist on extra time else universities make it a rule and problem is faced by visually impaired students who will give exams after we pass out. So, question is not for just our passing out, long term scenario should be thought of. with regards Avneesh Singh On 28-03-2012 8:51, Umesha Economics wrote: UGC is of no use in this case. disability commissioner may come to help. but I don't agree with you that we should not use the both. there are some valid reasons for availing both. the communication between scribe and candidate takes more time than one person writing the exam. if your scribe is slow, as it is usual since he/she is from a lower grade, it adds to the delay. when you are instructing to writing a diagram, it consumes much of time. there are some others as well. so, don't come to a hasty conclusion so easily. They said that each university has its own rules and they cannot interfere in this matter. the Disability Commissioner of West Bengal was also approached. She clearly told that the university is correct. We are not supposed to avail ourselves of both scribe and extra time. We have enjoyed undue facilities so far. Unfortunately, I used both these facilities 25 years back. I agree with Rajesh. We should ask the Social Justice Ministry to issue a proper guideline immediately. For example, I think for me, property investment is the best option with very high returns and safety but lot of hard work and stress. However, for smaller amounts, you can go for Systematic Investment Plans by top equity funds. It averages your risks and returns in the medium and long term you will never be a loser given you take a right redemption decision. Well, in terms of debt instruments, I don?t favor them at all as even the highest rate of interest on FDs or bonds are always lesser than your inflation rate so actually value of your money goes on deteriorating. One very important tip which Sameer shared with me, Please don?t keep any money more than say 10,000 in your savings account lying just like that. It depreciates the value of your money. Instruct your bank to keep all the cash in sweep in-sweep out or link fixed deposit as ICICI calls it. Re: [AI] Cumplaint about bank of baroda clerk recruitment project2012
No, this is not the case. BOB has mentioned the vacancies for PWD as well, but the cut off marks are not set for us! This is why the people have raised their concern, not the other way around. BOB has mentioned differennt cut off marks for every state. Here in Delhi, SC: 158, ST: 145, OBC: 164 and general: 172. Surprisingly no cut off is given for PWD. It means a person with disability belong to a general category will have to follow the cut off criteria of 172 marks! and so as the same case with PWD belonging to SC/ST and OBC's. So, this time BOB has introduced a new idea of not providing the enough opportunities to persons with disabilities. Seems banks are now trying to be doubly diligent in the method of creating new barriers for persons with disabilities specially after the removal of unnecessary ristrictions of hard Scribe norms. Re: [AI] Cumplaint about bank of baroda clerk recruitment project 2012
Friends Actually the issue is very complex, you know. Reservation is being allotted vertically as well as horizontally. And I never understand it properly. But here I assume that in whatever mainstream category you fall, Jeneral, SC, ST and OBC You are elligible to apply for the post. For instance, if in Delhi jeneral category applicant is expected to have obtained 172 to apply for interview, and you fall in jeneral/blind then yu can go ahead with making challan. Rest will follow the same for other categories as well. This is my assumption, have not gone through any blue print document. All the best to all interviewees Good luck. Re: [AI] Help Requested on Reading Business ENews Papers
Hi Rahul Though you already go through some of the mainstream Indian dailies related to Business and its sub categories. But you can truly enhance your scope by registering to http://www.economist.com/ this weekly magazine covers everything, all continents, Banking, finance, equity,, and business leaders obituaries as well. Now adays, China and India are its main focus. But in order to fully access this magazine, you will have to use it wisely. primarily, you will be allowed to read up to 5 articles of your choice. Then, if yu are registered or Loged in, five aditional will be granted after entering your login address. Now, if you wish to read more from the same issue, then keep visiting their site every day, but not the same day on which you accessed aditional articles previously. On each monday fresh issue gets published online. Further, Financial times, which is also widely read across the globe among Business followers is also heftly paid, but this magazine/newspaper can also be accessed wisely. Go to http://www.ft.com/home/uk Register yourself and you will be allotted 8 maximum articles to go through in an entire month. Here also become choosy and go through contents carefully, and read the best 8 out of entire issue in a month. And if yu don't get satisfied, then create more mail accounts at least four, and read the financial times alternatively. And wall street journal is easily accessible. http://india.wsj.com/home-page Here you will not find any problem. Good luck for your future business prospects. Hi George Once you subscribe, you get the option of getting the audio version of the article. It is again a synthetic audio, but, the audio quality is good. I for one, don't think much of it. Re: [AI] Savings
Hi anil, insurence and investment are different. Be clear about your objective. Insurence is for yr dependents in case of untimely death. If u want this, go for term plan. Investment is for yr goals child education, child maridge, returement etc'. For this, u have to decide whether u want low but safe returns, go for PPF, or bit risk but high returns, go for large cap diversify mutual fund via monthly investment plan. Whith best regard kapil email kapil0...@gmail.com facebook i.d kapil.mitt...@facebook.com mobile 09013386781 -original message- Subject: Re: [AI] Savings From: Ekinath Khedekar ekin...@gmail.com Date: 28/03/2012 10:34 am Anilji, One’s risk taking appetite determines which avenues are good for saving or investing. Well, in terms of debt instruments, I don’t favor them at all as even the highest rate of interest on FDs or bonds are always lesser than your inflation rate so actually value of your money goes on deteriorating. One very important tip which Sameer shared with me, Please don’t keep any money more than say 10,000 in your savings account lying just like that. It depreciates the value of your money. Instruct your bank to keep all the cash in sweep in-sweep out or link fixed deposit as ICICI calls it. In case of ICICI, All you’re your cash in savings account other than your designated amount is converted in to link fixed deposits in the multiples of 5000 and your can earn almost double the return than your savings account or equivalent to fixed deposit while it remains flexible for you to remove them any time or issue check without any penalty. Ideal tenure for this is the highest tenure. Good luck and all your returns losses are yours and not mine... Re: [AI] Urgent help soughtt for upcoming ESIC entrance exam, please.
Dear Avinash, in such a short notice, its too late to do something now. However, advise your friend to make a representation to ccpd and request to deal the issue in urgent bases. attach the advertisement which does not stipulate the extra time for VI, and if possible, mention the impugned clause on your representation. Just be to the point and the representation should be very short. All the contact details of chief recruiting authority must be at hands when appearing before the ccpd. Request to ccpd to talk to the recruiting authority over the phone and to send the order via telefax. If possible, try to get the signed letter of recruiting authority which they’ll issue to their examination centers upon the orders of ccpd. you may reproduce the same on the examination hall to get the extra time. Re: [AI] Regarding Extra Time in Examinations under UGC Rules.
Well, ultimately the deputy controller of examinations of Burdwan university has accepted her prayer. He has actually increased the extra time. Re: [AI] Differently abled students in JNU to an indefinit hunger strike from tonight onwards!!!!!!!
Nice efforts. follow it to its logical conclusion. However, before arguing with university authorities and mcd it is to be noted that the animals have as much a right to inhabit the areas they were born in as we do. Needless to say that these street dogs are not the exception of our Indian laws. As per our Indian laws, street dogs cannot be beaten or driven away. They can merely be sterilized in the manner envisaged in the Animal Birth Control (Dogs) Rules, 2001 (Rules under Indian Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960), vaccinated, and then returned back to their original locations. Keeping in view the above rules and laws, University officials are right that the birth control is the only solution for this problem. However, if the dog bites are becoming the frequent phenomenon, such dogs can’t be allowed to roam freely. Somewhere the university authorities and MCD will have to strike the balance. If an insane or harmful person can’t be set free to walk the roads and streets, how the stray dogs can be allowed to enjoy the free environment while biting people? The animals interests can not be protected at the cost of human lives and human interests!!! Thanks and regards, On 3/28/12, bijoy sukumaran bijoy.sukumaran...@gmail.com wrote: Friends, for the last four years, the differently abled students as well as the other students of JNU are fighting for the relocation of dogs from the highly reputed campus of Jawaharlal Nehru University. Over this four years, the population of dogs has been multiplied at an alarming rate, thanks to the inefficient administration of JNU! Being differently abled, we are the badly affected section of this dog menace. For some dogs, biting is a routine. On the wake of recent dog bitings, we the differently abled students of JNU have decided to strengthen our struggle and given the administration an ultimatum to solve this issue. Last week, the administration had given us in writing three major promises, and didn’t fulfill any of them. The JNU visually challenged students forum and Jnu disabled people association have unanimously taken a decision to go into an indefinite hunger strike to protest against the policies of administration who ensures a barrier free campus for the dogs in the campus. Please give us the moral support… I request the legal experts in the forum to provide legal advice to us. The administration maintains that only animal birth control can be done to solve this issue, and they must be restored to be their original habitats. So we require legal inputs from you. Hi Mr. Amiyo, State commissioner for persons with disabilities of Bengal is not quite wrong only, but also she seems to have no knowledge of issues relating to the disabilities when she clearly told that the university is correct. We are not supposed to avail ourselves of both scribe and extra time. We have enjoyed undue facilities so far.
