Hi listers, suppose I have some text on MS word page, in between the text, or after the full stop there are some numbers written there, is there any way to remove those numbers all together in stead removing those manually? If this is the type of tet you are working with, then you can follow these steps: 1. In ms word, go to find and replace dialogue box. 2. in the find what box enter this text without the quotes: . ^# 3. In the replace with box, type without quotes: . 4. Now activate the replace all (alt+a) command. Word will anounce the number of replacements it has made. Keep using alt+a command until word says zero replacements. Caution: Keep a backup for safety. You must also keep in mind the text you want to replace. If, for instance, there is no space between the fullstop and the number, then use .^# in the find what box and . in the replace with box. There is yet another method using wild card. You may try it for various expressions. For instance, 1. Go to find and replace dialogue box. 2. Activate the more button. 3. Check the wild card check box. 4. Press spacebar on special button menu and arrow down to something like range of characters. 5. Now word will put [-] in the find what box. Dear all Access Indians, Captchas are available in both graphic and audio form but can be difficult to interpret to print-disabled. In the United States, the National Federation for the Blind says its members are unable to sign E-petition calling for the printed material to be more accessible to visually-impaired because of Captcha security. A Captcha is a graphic or sound of a random word or a number that users must key in to prove they are human. The petition, on the White House website, has received just 8,200 signatures. But the White House says its site complies with US accessible standards. Chris Danielsen of the US-based Federation for the Blind told the Politico website that he realized there was problem after publicizing the petition. We had asked people to sign the E-petition and we're getting these E-mails saying people can't, the Constitution allows all of us to petition our government for a redressal of grievance, it says nothing about needing to be able to see in ord er to do so, he said. Damon Rose, the editor of BBC's Ouch blog for the people with disabilities, said: Captcha graphics are nightmare for the visually-impaired who use their screen-readers to interpret the computer rather than their eyes, but screen-readers can't manage them. Ironically, if I see an audio capture, I tend not to bother with it because it's usually such a poor experience, some of them sound like aliens talking and they put weird background noises over them, Rose added. It's bit of a joke in the blind community. As a result, many visually-impaired people could not contribute to debate and discussions on message-boards and blogs. Hi Anjaneyulu, This is not possible to do. If you want to protect your data from being copied, here are a few options. Be warned, none of these are simple answers. 1. Use encryption. You would need to handle the decryption in your own program. You would need to implement Adobe's rights management or Microsoft's rights management. This can get expensive quickly since you would need to license these tools. Microsoft's rights management may be free if you use their servers but I am not sure. There is used to be an option to use msn messenger in some way but I am not sure. If you are distributing books, consider creating encrypted DAISY books. 2. Do not give them the data on removal media but keep it on a webpage. You can then disable browser keystrokes etc to make it difficult for people to copy.
