Re: [AI] as bajaj fincer rejected my consumer loan

2017-06-07 Thread Amit Patel
I have been using bajaj finance card for purchasing laptop, mobile
etc. for long.
Perhaps they didn’t know about my disability while issuing card.
But last year I got call from bajaj for personal loan and at that time
I wanted it so I applied but they denied after doing all the formality
on the ground of disability.
Was busy so didn’t do anything at that time.

Lets hope it gets resolved at the local level.

 Yes, of course.
 Local and whimsical issue.

Ideally, RBI should issue a non-discrimination circular for NBFCs on
the lines of banks, but who will persuade them?
Any present deputy governors your neighbours like in olden times?
 Smile.

I am writing to DNBR, let us see!!

Rajesh, Have you seen a single investment which asks if you are
 disabled?
There is no such question on the form and Obviously not because there
is no higher returns for the investments of the Disabled. for -
they are very happy to have my money.
Also from what I am reading on this list is that many visually
impaired people whose disability is apparent have been given loans.
So this seems to be a local issue but needs to be dealt with
 strongly.

hi first i would like to inform you that this wallet service provide
may not be ok for people like us. because of the following reasons.
1: although it has a good option to recharge your mobile phone by
simply dialing their toolfree no. but you can not change the operator
if the mobile number is being port-out, suppose a mobile number
belongs to idea, and the same has been port-out to any other service
provider say airtel. the IVR detects as idea. there is another
  service

provider name paytm.com is also ofering this types of service, but it
did not allowed to change the operator option.
2: although they have the criteria that one has to keep 3000 as
minimum balance it is their discretion and every company has certain
policy. but their cash loading facility is not good. as one have to
rush to SBI branches to through cash into their account, and i guess
that the user must inform about the fund transfer details. you are
aware that the non-home fund transfer charges has been increase to
  rs.

50 and every time one have to search for some one to fill up the
vouture. if one is not availing the online banking services.
so over all i recommend all of you for mobikwik of oxigen wallet. as
it has no minimum balance criteria, you can load upto 1 if you
  are

not KYC compliance and if you are compliance with KYC you can park
  upto 5 in a month.
the best thing is that you don't have to rush to any bank to load
  cash

into the wallet. you can load via credit/debit card or net banking.
  hope this helps.

Re: [AI] VI persons in politics

2013-06-18 Thread amit patel
got this small article from times of india.
Visually impaired shows the way to politicians
Melvyn Thomas, TNN May 20, 2009, 10.40pm IST

SURAT: Rambhai Patel does not wear khadi. He has no political
connection and has never contested an election. But, on May 16,
Rambhai, a visually impaired
retired telephone operator in Valsad achieved something that is the
envy of seasoned politicians - he polled 27,429 votes as an
Independent in the Lok
Sabha elections.

Yet, fighting elections was not something Rambhai had dreamt of. I
wanted to teach politicians a lesson, show them that elections are not
won by money,
muscle and liquor power, but by good work and commitment to the
people. I cannot see the world, but I decided to open the eyes of
politicians who are blind
to the ills plaguing our country, says 59-year-old Rambhai, who
retired from the Valsad District Co-operative Bank last year.

Even though I have provided the highest ratings to Apple devices, I still

Whether it's Android or ions, You'll find me grumbling about absence of

 Hi,

You need not connect using the application provided by your service
provider. You can use basic windows service of dial up connection and
 it
 is
 fully accessible.

It is by default set once u have installed it. Go to network
 connections
 and
u ll find it there. At the most u need to enter your access number as
 user
name and password both in dial up connection settings.

 Hi,

You need not connect using the application provided by your
service provider. You can use basic windows service of dial up
connection and it is fully accessible.

It is by default set once u have installed it. Go to network
connections and u ll find it there. At the most u need to enter
your access number as user name and password both in dial up
 connection settings.

Do you use a white cane, or do you take the help of a sighted guide?
According to you, which of these options is more suitable?

Depends on the accessibility of the trading website / software.
Infoline, sherkhan, and up to certain extent Indiabulls with Java access
bridge installed are accessible when it comes to softwares.
As far as websites are concerned, ICICIDirect is quite accessible.
Check the brokerage, as well as take a demonstration of the trading platform

on the system having Jaws installed, so that you yourself can explore the
 same.
Specifically check, that whether you are able to check the Live stocks rates

 or not.

Friends,
Even in rare case we can not deny the importance of check book.
It’s true that
After net banking ATM and credit card we have lots of options of check book.
Yet it’s tough to survive without it.
I may be wrong but risk level in using check book net banking atm and
credit card is same in the case of blind and sighted person.
Practically we should not afraid in taking risk much because already
being visually impaired there is lots of risk involves with each
moment of our life.
So we must use all banking facilities if we feel need.
Though how much risk we want to take or how much risk we can afford
its very personal matter. Its totally depends on our own need.

 Dear Nautial

I believe, even rubber stamp signature is strictly speaking legal.
However, I would add, in practise, it may not be acceptable.

This does not give any value addition to the discussion, just
 clarifying.

It was quite sometime, CMC at Hyderabad had developed finger print
recognition. Wonder, what happend of it. I had actively helped them with
specimen samples when I was at Hyderabad. They had then, a minor
technical issue, however, no way it could hold them up for such a long
 time.

For the purpose of getting a unique signature which is difficult to copy I

had seen someone use a specially designed pen which had a very small
rubber stamp on the other tip of the pen. He used to sign on the paper and

then fixed the stamp which carried his name. So, his signature was a
combination of his writing with the pen which was not always identical but

it also had his name stamped on it which was always identical.

I want to know if this type of signature is legally acceptable? If it is
then it may be a good workaround for many for signing cheques and other
 documents.

Please be very careful of the immediate family and friends. Fraud and

We are careful of outsiders but we become lax when we deal with

 Friends,
I don’t want to say what I have done is right. But I have solved my
 signature problem with unique way.
After lots of research I have made one format on mettle card. With the
help of designer. I simply signed a paper and the designer scanned and
prepared a signature guide for me.
Now with this signature card I can sign my document without any
problem by just moving pen in the letters
Though this kind of signature card is never advisable. Because anyone
can sign any document with the card on behalf of you if you lost the
 card.
I have done this only because check book is my necessity and I didn’t
 have any option
If you have better solution please share on the list.

Re: [AI] most accessible net banking.

2010-07-08 Thread amit patel
Dear Sunil,
I have never used net banking. But In my experience for online share
trading India infoline is the best.
Most of the things you can do without any help of sighted person. I am
personally using it since 2009. And I haven’t faced any accessibility
issue yet. The trading terminal of India infoline is very accessible.
And their service is also quite well.
So for share trading purpose it is really the best option.
Thanks.

 Dear Amitji,

Efforts of you and your friends are admirable. As Mr. Prateek Agarwal has
offered, you can search and download the required circulars and government
orders from his website. Lists of identified jobs of government of India
 in
group A, B, C D are also available on the site of ministry of social
justice and empowerment, government of India. Here, this is more
 important
to know whether the job of language teacher is identified for the blind
 or
not in your state. Actually we at Karnataka also facing the similar
 problem.
Job of any type of school teacher accept the music teacher has not been
identified for the blind by the Karnataka government. Even in 2007, when
 the
1000 of vacancies were advertised for the post of primary school teacher
 a
PIL was filed in Karnataka High Court for recruitment of blind as a
 primary
school teacher as per their reservation quota. And court gave the
 favourable
judgment directing the state government for recruitment of the V.H.
 persons
for the job of primary school teacher as per their reservation quota. But
the state government move to the supreme court to stay the judgment and
since than the matter is pending in the supreme court neither the stay
 has
been granted nor the afforstated judgment is being implemented.

NFB, Karnataka also filed a fresh PIL petition in 2009 while again 4900
vacancies of primary school teachers were advertised and blind persons
 were
bared to apply for these jobs. In its interim order of 29th October 2009
against the said PIL the high court directed the state government to keep
 at
least 49 posts vacant until the final disposal of these petition and
 accept
the applications of qualifying blind persons for the same. Since then the
matter is standing in the high court for the next hearing.

You would be aware of recent interim order of Mumbai High Court in which
 the
honourable high court has expressed its displeasure on the attitude of the
Maharastra Government on the matter of identification of jobs and its time
bound review. It may also be helpful in your case as a reference. I am
forwarding a copy of this interim order at your personnel mail I.D.

We have also filed a new PIL in the matter of appropriate identification
 of
jobs and review of the existing lists, the first hearing of which
 expected
to be scheduled with in two, three days time. I would inform you of the
outcome of the same after the hearing.

Best of luck for the desired success.

 With regards,
 Gautam Prakash Agarwal
 President,
 NFB, Karnataka.

 Dear Rajesh Sir,
I have 100 per cent vision impairment, even don't have light
perception and lost eyesight in year 2003 and started rehabilitation
process from year 2006. Before it I was 100 per cent sighted person.

My joining cum first posting was in Siliguri (West Bengal), on 24th August
 2009.
Within 25 days I got transferred to my residential place (Kolkata),
with the help of Allahabad Bank's union's effort.
After reporting to ZO, I was denied to be posted at nearest branch to
my residence by DGM (He was the chairman of selection committee during
 my selection).
He ordered me to work only in Zonal office, which is quite far from my
 house.
The administration people discussed with me and asked to accept the
challenge of handling the secretariat. And that's it.

I sit just next and internally attached chamber with zonal head (DGM)
and FGM. Till last month I was working with FGM Mr. Ashok Dutt, who
now has become Executive Director of Dena bank.

Any visitor or telephone call comes first to me and according to their
importance I deal with them. And even fix appointments and keep
 records of them.

Generally all files come first to my table and then I forward it to
them. And even dispatch them after completion.

I receive all of correspondence and circulars from Head office or
other places, and after arranging them (put dates and all ) hand over
 to them.

I have been provided with one system attached with printer and scanner
and one fax machine. The moment I receive any fax, immediately scan it
and if it is for my bosses then, give to them or for the time being,
in case of their unavailability, keep with me. And rest send to
appropriate departments. Furthermore, I send faxes of DGM and FGM as
well, since have maintained a list of the entire phone and fax numbers
of bank's Head office, zones and branches.

Often I deal with the complains of customers against branch employees
or branch heads. If, it is critical, then only forward to bosses
otherwise try to solve it on my own.
Many times ask, inform and instruct branch heads on behalf of zonal
head about urgent issues, meetings or feed backs of any particular
 subject.

And more significantly still I use the Demo version of JAWS (you
 understand).
However it was offered to me, but I denied because didn't want to
 increase expenditure on me.

I think it is always easy to escape from the situation, but it is not

I strongly believe that there are thousands of organizations working

Bring three pens, university would choose with which pen you are to write

Strip naked before entering the exam hall, so that your entire body may be
examined for any possible hidden material.
Appoint watchers in all bathrooms in examining buildings, inside, of course

Watch for any interruptions in writing, for who knows candidate may be

Examine all glasses in which water is served during exam for any subtle

So are all the Universities when it comes to permitting scribes for blind

Hi Anjali!
I am not so sure about 3200
btw I can say that Nokia N 70 M is working fine for me.
How ever what kind of functions are you looking for, it depends upon
that,
you will be able to decide upon the mobile handset!

Even E series are good these days they are third generation phones!
(Latest)

So do look thrue some models and then decide!

Hope this helps!
many thanks!
regards
Mamta.

hi anjali,
i too was recently researching on the same topic, and finalised on
nokia n 70 m. it has all the functionalities one would want and i
believe it is value for money. i have been using it for some time
 now,
and havent found any problems using it. its quite easy to get around
the buttons and very responsive. i am only having one problem with
 it,
which is i am having trouble reading e text books with it. if you
are someone who wants to read e text books on the go, then you
 better
find out more about it before you buy. appreciate if someone else has
had similar experiences, and figured out a way around this. i would
definately suggest it except this e text reading problem. although
must hasten to say that i am a beginner at this and may be doing
something wrong.
appreciate comments.
regards,
divyanshu

Yes, The new Nokia 3230 and 6600 are not coming to the market now,
 however,
a few handsets may be available at some selected shops and of
 course
 they
aren't easy to find in the market.
The good or bad is also much depends on your priority like we want
 to
 use
 a
handset for listening music? Or do we need to use the features of
 3rd
 addition? etc.
Before selecting any mobile set, in my opinion, we must set our
 needs
 for
 Mobile besides some general features.
I Am using N72 and satisfied with it's function and performance,
 however,
some of us may find a little complexity in using it's key pad but
 you
 get
perfection on it once you are habitual and familiar with the
 buttons.
 N70M
is also a fine set and it's keys are also relatively good to be
 used.
 If
 you
wanna go for 2nd addition phone, then there won't be better option
 than
 N70
and N72 in Nokia brand for us people in my personal observation.
 Thanks,

  mamta,
thanks for your input about n70 from your personal experience. I
  have
  the
list of accessible mobiles, but there are different views on
 which
  one
  is
preferable and which one to eliminate.
as regards 3230 and 6600 models, these are not available with
 many
  nokia
  dealers.
some say that 3200 was not good enough. your comments!
