Thank You Srinivasu! I am sorry to reply late but am grateful to Srinivasu
who has answered. As he rightly said, corporate do not mention salary in
the advertisement as salary would be based on experience and industry
standards.

Please do call 022 26860485/86 for any clarifications. You can talk to Ms.
Spinell who is the HR head at BarrierBreak.

Gentle reminder: Walk-in interview tomorrow between 10 am and 5pm.

Thank You
Ramya

Re: [AI] Job Vacancy at BarrierBreak - Mumbai

2016-10-21 Thread li...@srinivasu.org
Hello,
As far as I know, mostly within corporate sector, selary details would not be
mentioned in the advertisement and usually be discussed during HR discussion
that will happen post selection of technical round etc.,

No one would be forced to work on a particular salary. Candidate has every
opportunity to accept or decline the offer.

As far as BarrierBreak is concerned, I have worked with them and I know for
sure a qualitative training will be provided during first few months.

I believe a good negotiation will happen for proven expertise candidate.

Thanks,

2016-10-21 Thread shankar shan
exactly, this is very strange.
lot of times, I was saw the job postings on the lists/social networks
without Mentioning the Salary part.
once the person get selected, they has to work for just for 1 to
2 rs per month.

and, sorry to say this, it looks like insulting the testers as well.

so, requesting the person to exchange the salary info, so that, if the
people is Interested or starvation for the job, they might
contact/attend the interviews.

There is a job vacancy at Jaipur - the position is of a consultancy
nature - working with the State Education Department.

Position title - Consultant (Inclusive Education Department) for Blind
and Low Vision Children

The job description is attached along with this email. Please feel free
to circulate amongst your network and ask persons to directly get in
touch with Ms. Sugandhi Baliga (HR Manager at Sightsavers, India Region)
by the 10th of March

Job Description : Consultant Inclusive Education Department (Blind and
Low Vision) - Government Inclusive Education programme strengthening
project, (Government Of Rajasthan)

Location: Jaipur

Background of the project

Sarva Sikhsha Abhiyan (SSA) has made significant move by identifying
about 2.5 Lakh children with special need in the state of Rajasthan and
enrolling 2.4 Lakh of the identified children in the mainstream schools.
Various initiatives such as developing existing SSA resource rooms as
model resource rooms, appointing resource teachers to support the
education of Children with special need (CWSN), clinical and functional
assessment of the children, distribution of aids and appliances, making
barrier free environment at schools, orientation and training of school
teachers on disability have been initiated under inclusive education
programme of SSA. The enrolment of children with specific need in the
schools has given new hope to the children and their parents and is
creating demand for specific support services.

Lack of human resources has been one of the major challenges across the
county in supporting the inclusive education component of the SSA. Two
hundred and sixty nine (269) resource teachers have been appointed so far
for 33 districts of the state - but looking at the number of identified
children (2.48 Lakh) this is inadequate. Availability of resource
teachers specialized to a particular disability remains another
challenge. For 33552 identified visual impaired children in the state 66
special educators trained in VI are available which is highly inadequate.
Due to less number of resource teachers' children with visual impairment
find difficulty in receiving regular specific support and their
educational need is not fulfilled properly. Lack of human resources also
restricts the district authorities to extend other support services to
the children with specific need.

State also lacks technical manpower for assessment of low vision children
and as a result very few children in the state have been assessed for low
vision and given low vision devices. Children requiring plus curriculum
training need regular and intensive support in the beginning so that they
learn Braille and other plus curriculum skills and their integration in
the mainstream schools becomes easier. Involvement of the parents and the
community in the education of the children with specific need has not
been significant in the state. Sightsavers has been supporting the
Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) programme in the two districts along
with other districts in Rajasthan for the last 8 years. The CBR programme
will facilitate in mobilizing community support in the implementation of
the project.

Realizing the current challenges being faced in the implementation of the
inclusive education component in the state this partnership of
Sightsavers with Government of Rajasthan is intended to pilot new
approaches in two needy districts Jaisalmer and Barmer and undertake some
specific state level joint initiatives. The ultimate aim of this
collaboration is to see that all the blind and low vision children in the
two pilot districts receive quality education and state initiative to
promote inclusive education for children with specific need is
strengthened.

Sightsavers would be strengthening the state cell of inclusive education
by supporting the salary component of a consultant for Blind / Low Vision
for 3 years who will be supporting the IE cell in reporting and
documentation along with coordinating the district pilot projects of the
two districts. Sightsavers would be extending technical support to the IE
cell in plan

Dear Sam!

It feels great to get to read your mail and also to get some glimpses of the
fascinating work and effort which you and your team are putting in.

Incidentally, this mail of yours also gives me an opportunity to renew my
contact with the members of this spirited group. I am Prasanna Kumar Pincha.
I am currently working with ActionAid India as a senior manager/theme leader
on the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities. I have
taken up this assignment only recently. Prior to this, I was working as the
Regional Manager, ActionAid, for the northeastern region and was based in
Guwahati. I have since relocated myself to Delhi following assumption of my
current assignment.

I also happen to be the former joint-director, social welfare dept. Govt.
of Assam, and the founder Principal of the Govt. Jorhat Blind Institution.

My chemistry is that of an activist's. I was profoundly influenced by the
perspectives of two blind leading activists, namely, Dr. Jacobus Tenbrook
and Dr. Kenneth Jernigan, both past presidents of the NFB of USA. I feel
that the movement which got under way under the tutelage of these leaders in
the United States of America is the strongest and the most vibrant self
advocacy movement of the blind.

Be that as it may, I feel, you will feel favourably disposed towards the
idea of deliberating on the recently adopted Convention I referred to above.
To my humble way of thinking, this Convention arms us with a powerful
bargaining tool for negotiating with the state as well as with the civil
society in respect of our human rights and foundamental freedoms. One
significant implication of this convention is that the indian laws, both
disability specific legislations as well as general legislations will now
have to be amended since India is a signatory to this international treaty,
and since the union cabinet of India is understood to have given its
clearance for the ratification of the said Convention.

Kindly get it clear that I am not veryy good at the computer and always
struggle with it. Now however, I am trying to convert this struggle into a
play. Isn't that a good idea? So, please ignore my formating or any other
error. Also please take no umbrage at the delay in responding.

Yes, I happen to be blind since my birth, and thriving at 55.

love and regards,

Prasanna Kumar Pincha.
