Re: [AI] KYC for banking facilities for the blind
Hi all, So, finally I also received the physical card & the things are sorted for once. In the meantime, I also have received a reply fromt he ICICI customercare for you to go through & judge for yourselves up to what extent do they live up to their claims: Dear Mr. Bhardwaj, We write with reference to your complaint no. N202122014024901 addressed to The Office of RBI Ombudsman, Delhi, which has been forwarded to us for due analysis and redressal with regard to the concerns raised pertaining to your Credit Card Application 8201X5367. In this connection, we wish to state as under: On receipt of your complaint we have verified the details and would like to state that, in the absence of written VKYC guidelines for visually impaired customers, biometric KYC mode is followed and guided to customer. However in your case agent had incorrectly marked the lead as “unable” instead of “rejected” due to which lead was not assigned to agency for biometric KYC. Further we would like to state that agency pick up was completed by March 23, 2022 and we would like to confirm that, your credit card application is approved and an Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card no 43158002 is allocated in your name. Further, the bank is in the process of dispatching the same to you and you will be receiving the same in 10 working days. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. We urge you to treat this incident as an exceptional occurrence and not an indicator of our service levels. We trust the above clarifies the concerns raised by you. We affirm that ICICI Bank at all times acts with diligence, in good faith, and in no manner prejudicial to the interests of its customers. Looking forward to your co-operation in helping us serve you better. Sincerely, Divya P Manager - Service Quality Thank you, Bharat. Namaskar! Good, Very good indeed! As I said, came to know that you are able to see your card details in your Amazon application in about 3 to 4 days' time. Hi Bharat, You are certainly right. From now on, do not extend the struggle too long. At the first instance of being denied any banking service, write an email to the concerned bank quoting the provisions of RBI's Master Circular on Customer Service in Banks dated 1st July, 2015 (Para 9 and 10) and Banking facilities to Senior Citizens and the Disabled dated November 9, 2017. On the 30th day, submit a complaint to RBI Ombudsman on https://cms.rbi.org.in This shall definitely shorten the time of your struggle with the banks. [AI] KYC for banking facilities for the blind
Dear Members, I am a long time member of this fantastic email list called AI Mailing list. Same has helped numerous members as they can freely express their views and seek guidance from fellow members. Over the years I have seen that the issue of opening of bank accountfor VI persons has always been an issue of concern. I had vision issues during my 30s and I too had faced challenges with my S/B accounts that were opened during my normal eyesight period. The issues faced are more or less person specific and often not system related. In this regard I would like to propose to the bankers on this list that if possible please advocate for inclusion of one training session covering the bank PWD policy during the induction of new Probationary Officers. I have heard that bankers needs to pass some exams before being considered for promotion to next level. If possible please advocate for including some questions (say 2 - 3 questions of higher as deemed fit by bankers) in these tests so that the bank's PWD policy is refreshed at each and every step. Humans by nature are emphatic and hopefully by better training, things shall improve in near future. Usually, when ICICI generates the vertual card, you should be able to see the card details including CVV and date of expiry on the Imobile app. By default, those would be hidden, but there is a checkbox next to the card number, you can find the details. And usually, they don't take much time to send the physical card. Anyways, you have been able to see the struggle through... Re: [AI] KYC for banking facilities for the blind
Hi all, Finally, today I got my virtual credit card. Now the card is reflecting in my Amazon account as well. Although i don't really have access to things such as CVV or date of expiry for the card yet. Looks like all of those would be available only once i have my physical card on me. My experience once again prove at a gap of over 14 years, that the only way to get things done out of them is to resort to arm-twisting. Even i 2008 when my wife & I wanted to open a joint account they had refusedto do so & it was only when RBI came to my rescue is when we could manage to get the account. & even this time around an absolutely similar experience. By refusing access to credit card meant for a specific site, they are causing us financial loss & should be held liable for that. Thanks to everyone for their valuable guidance in my struggle. I really appreciate it. Thank you, Bharat. So, ICICI shouldn't create much fuss really. You should surely not let it go, fight it out, they do have processes to get cards issued to blind person, just that most people dealing with it aren't aware of the same. No, you now need to raise the issue with their Nodal or Principal Nodal officer informing everything including their own bank's customer service's negative response. Also hint them that if this is not dealt with serious attention, you wouldn't be having any other option than going to the Banking Ombudsman established by RBI. As expected, they refuse to help. Should I still continue to persue their complaint redressal system or directly reach out to RBI in this regard. Please have a look at the below mail: - Dear Customer, Greetings from ICICI Bank. Hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe. We sincerely regret for the delay in response and inconvenience caused to you. Based on our record your application is not eligible for video KYC. In case you wish to do video KYC, we suggest cancelling the application and applying again. You can opt for Video KYC in the new application. However, please be informed that the cancellation request will take 7 working days to get processed and the application will be de-linked in another 7 working days. Hence you can apply again only post 14 working days. Please revert back to us with your confirmation and we shall raise a request for cancellation. Please be informed that due to RBI guidelines, Physical KYC is permanently closed. You can only apply through Video KYC if Aadhaar linked with your mobile number and complete address updated in your Aadhaar. Re: [AI] KYC for banking facilities for the blind
Standard Chartered did V KYC for me without drama. With ICICI, it was originally very difficult, pre-Covid times it was and they originally refused to process my documents after home KYC. As I kept writing, and using up all avenues of protest and complaind, they eventually processed my application. It was the ICICI Platinum card. On the basis of that card, I got the AmazonPay card issued without any issues, and the onboarding process in that case took just a couple of minutes. Re: [AI] KYC for banking facilities for the blind
You could certainly schedule for V KYC and it has to be done without any issue. You could also write to Amazon and ICICI bank telling them these things. and if you are comfortable for home KYC, ask them why even after making it scheduled is not done so far? Amazon would certainly be of assistance here. I did get this credit card about 2 and half years back without any problem. the person came to my residence and everything went smoothly. [AI] KYC for banking facilities for the blind
Hi all, I recently filled up the online application for the Amazon ICICI credit card & was presented with the video KYC option. Once I opted for that, the representative refused to conduct my KYC once she realised me being blind. She instead suggested me to opt for the home document collection option. I have scheduled the home collection thrice but no one has come up for it till now. I would like to know, if the video KYC is not for the blind. & if yes, then what are the rules for it. Thank you, Bharat. -- Disclaimer: 1. Contents of the mails, factual, or otherwise, reflect the thinking of the person sending the mail and AI in no way relates itself to its veracity; 2.
