Re: [AI] query regarding internet banking in new account on SBI
HI Sharma, You might have taken INB in the past. I also don't take any sighted assistance while keying in the profile password. But for those who took INB recently, and even for existing users, if they want to change their profile password, this problem does exist. I think all State Bank group customers use the same INB platform. If you are so interested, try changing your profile password to have the fun (smile). Re: [AI] query regarding internet banking in new account on SBI
First, you need not disclose your entire password. Its just the two special characters that you have in your password the sighted person needs to know to help you. Second, there is not much that visually impaired bankers can do in this regard apart from taking this to the notice of the concerned person in the bank. Its up to the visually challenged customers to raise this issue with the bank. As most would agree, customer complaint is lot more valuable than an employee suggestion. I've already informed this to the concerned person in SBI. Re: [AI] query regarding internet banking.
Hi Rahul, I have used Citibank's online banking facility quite comfortably except it's virtual keypad. Visit https://www.citibank.co.in/ for availing the facility. There's a combo box labeled 'Login to Citibank Online' with one item followed by a login button. Click this button if you have an iPIN. It opens a new IE window where you need to specify your debit card number and iPIN to login. As the virtual keypad is not very accessible, you must click the 'Click here' link towards the bottom of the page to login using standard keyboard. Enter your debit card number and iPIN in respective edit fields and click on 'Login' graphic link. Upon successful authentication you would be directed to the home page which is well accessible. Most of the pages are accessible after a successful login. Click the 'Get your iPIN here' link next to the login button if you do not have an iPIN. Below are the steps for generating an iPIN: 1. Select your relationship type from the Account Type combo box. The default selection is 'Suvidha/Netbanking', you may not need to change this. 2. Read the instructions and click the 'Get Started' link. 3. Enter your debit card details and click on 'Generate OAC' link. You would receive a code on your registered mobile number and email address. 4. In the next step, you need to select an iPIN of choice by specifying the OAC along with debit card details specified in step 3. That's it, you can login using your debit card number and iPIN. You can use online banking for Citibank's credit card in the same way as mentioned above (just that the account type would be Credit Card and not Suvidha/Netbanking). hth... Cheers!!! Re: [AI] query regarding internet banking.
please go to: http://www.online.citibank.co.in/ go to the login button by pressing the letter b, a couple of times, a new window opens, a links list, press c till it says, click here, for the second time, please put in your card number, 16 digits, tab down to the pw field, hit tab hit enter on the login option you are in, then on, everything is good to go. citibank, is the best with accessibility, i don't have to ask anyone for any help, especially, ever-since they have done away with the need to compulsorily enter the pin with a virtual keypad while making any creditcard payments. Re: [AI] query regarding internet banking.
My answers are inline. 1. how to disable skip duplicate links feature? PL] A. Launch your browser. B. Go into the jaws configuration manager. C. Activate the HTML options dialogue. If you are using Jaws 12, then you will need to find the relevant option in the settings center. D. Navigate to the links tab. E. There is an option to filter duplicate links. Disable that option. 2. does it require to mention particular digits from the debit card like ICICI bank double security feature? PL] Not yet. 3. is it required to provide the address related details of the benificiary while transferring money? currently i am using net banking facility with OBC which requires to provide address details of the benificiary. PL] No. You need the account number of the benificiary and the relevant IFC code. Pranav

Re: [AI] query regarding internet banking.
thanks for the reply. would you please describe: 1. how to disable skip duplicate links feature? 2. does it require to mention particular digits from the debit card like ICICI bank double security feature? 3. is it required to provide the address related details of the benificiary while transferring money? currently i am using net banking facility with OBC which requires to provide address details of the benificiary. - Original Message - From: Pranav Lal pranav@gmail.com To: accessindia@accessindia.org.in Sent: Friday, January 14, 2011 6:09 AM Subject: Re: [AI] query regarding internet banking. Hi, is it not risky to keep such confidential data in excel sheet? - Original Message - From: Zujar zujarbri...@gmail.com To: accessindia@accessindia.org.in Sent: Thursday, January 13, 2011 10:33 PM Subject: Re: [AI] query regarding internet banking. ICICI Bank is accessible. The only issue creeps up when you need to validate your debit card while performing an online transaction. There's a grid on the reverse of the debit card with a number in front of alphabets A to P. It asks you to enter numbers in front of three alphabets selected randomly for an extra level of security. I have noted this grid in an excel sheet with sighted help at once and keep the same handy while performing an online transaction. Can't say how accessible HDFC bank is. -Original Message- From: accessindia-boun...@accessindia.org.in [mailto:accessindia-boun...@accessindia.org.in] On Behalf Of Surya Prakash Sharma Sent: Thursday, January 13, 2011 8:20 PM To: accessindia@accessindia.org.in Subject: [AI] querry regarding internet banking. Re: [AI] query regarding internet banking.
Yes! it's risky, so I've password protected it. Still if someone tweaks into it, he does not know the algorithm I've used to store the numbers - they do not correspond to alphabets as they appear in the worksheet. Suggest any other measures that I can take for protection coz I do not want to depend on sighted help for performing secure financial transactions.
