Why quotes around keyword name in Keyword Performance Report are ignored?

2017-07-05 Thread 'jtian' via AdWords API Forum
Hi there,

Case 1:

At adwords ui. I have a keyword with name "kw".To be noticed, It has 4
characters, ", k, w, and ".

open downloaded xml file by vi, keyword = 'kw'. The quotes at the beginning
and at the end are ignored.

open downloaded csv file by vi, the value of keyword is "kw" which is
displayed as kw in a csv viewer.

Case 2:

 At adwords ui. I have a keyword with name "k"w".To be noticed, It has 4
characters, ", k, ", w, and ".

open downloaded xml file by vi, keyword = 'k"w'. The quotes at the
beginning and at the end are ignored whereas the quote in the middle of the
name is preserved.

open downloaded csv file by vi, the value of keyword is "k""w" which is
displayed as k"w in a csv viewer.

My question:

1, From what I observed, It seems Google ignores quotes surrounding
strings? please correct me if I am wrong.

2, Is there any work around to allow I input a keyword name starts or ends
with a quote?

I d appreciate any help :)

 Hi Greg,

 Thanks for all the helpful details! I started investigating on our
 servers to track down why this is happening. On my initial pass of our
 logs, I don't see a reason for the cancel happening when it appears that
 the job is finishing (whether it has errors or not). I'm pulling in a few
 more people here to take a look to help me solve this mystery. I'll get
 back to you when we've made a bit more progress on this.

I'm from the AdWords API team and I'm here to assist you. Also, please
don't worry as your English is good. Moving forward, could you confirm if
what you are looking for is the total cost made by your account? If yes,
then you may get this information from the Cost

Let me know if this is what you are looking for.

How much advantage in efficiency can I expect from using Batch Job Service on <1000 customer accounts?

2017-07-05 Thread kruger
Hello,

I am quite curious on the amplitude of increase in efficiency when using
BatchJobService as opposed to having all calls synchronously.

Given that I have less than 1,000 customer accounts and I make reasonable
amount of scheduled calls daily and some more weekly, how much would Batch
Job Service be useful for me?

Here are some assumptions:

* < 1.000 customer accounts
* 5 - 10 campaigns per account
* 50 - 100 ad groups per campaign
* < 3 keywords per ad group
* most scheduled calls would be to adjust bidding and add ad
groups/keywords (which I carefully expect to be around 10 calls per account
every day?)

Please let me know if I am completely off on something in asking this
question.

Thanks!

API for subtype "reach"

2017-07-05 Thread renan . bicudo

Hello,

I´m trying to access a Youtube "reach" campaign via API but I can´t figure
out how to do so. Anyone else with the same problem?

I knwow Youtube has the campaign subtype "reach" however I can´t find
information on this subtype anywhere in the API´s documentation.
Does anyone know where I would find information regarding campaign subtypes
("standard", "reach", etc.) in the documentation ?

Thanks,

Renan

Re: Data Mismatch Between GEO_PERFORMANCE_REPORT and CLICK_PERFORMANCE_REPORT

2017-07-05 Thread sean . blumenfeld
Hi Adwords API Team,

I have stumbled across this old thread after observing exactly the same geo
missmatching issue between downloading our Click_performance_report data
and our geo_performance_report data.

A separate, related, thread states that this issue was resolved in one of
the 2014 Adwords API releases. Of cours that doesn;t seem to be the case in
our Adwords API data downloads.

Can someone on your team investigate our issue if possible? What IDs do you
need from me to do so?

Regards,
Sean

Matching function CONTAINS_ANY

2017-07-05 Thread fedorinovaaori
Hi.
How to create matching function
CONTAINS_ANY(FeedAttribute[FeedId,14],{"label1"}) for CustomerFeed?

$customerFeed = new CustomerFeed();
$customerFeed->setFeedId($feedId);
$customerFeed->setPlaceholderTypes(7);

$function = sprintf(
'CONTAINS(FeedAttribute[%d, 14], {"label1"})',
$feedId
);
$matchingFunction = new MatchingFunction();
$matchingFunction->setFunctionString($function);
$customerFeed->setMatchingFunction($matchingFunction);

This does not work(

CustomerSyncService vs. Change History In Web Interface

2017-07-05 Thread Dorian Kind
Hi there,

I think this subject (correspondance between the web interface's change
history and the results from the CustomerSyncService) has been discussed
multiple times before, but as far as I recall the question usually was why
a specific change in the web interface wasn't being returned by the
CustomerSyncService.

I have the opposite scenario in that I get the "FIELDS_CHANGED" status for
a specific campaign and time range, but cannot see any changes for that
campaign in the web interface. Actually, there are changes shown whatsoever
in the change history no matter the date range.

Are there types of modification to campaigns that will only be visible in
the CustomerSyncService, but not the change history? SOAP logs are
available if required :)

Thanks for any feedback and best regards,
Dorian

Re: How can find Manager Account after authorization c#?

2017-07-05 Thread 'Shwetha Vastrad (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

You need to use CustomerService.getCustomers()

 method
without setting the clientCustomerId in the request header as shown here

 to
get the list of accounts directly accessible by the authenticated user
account. If the account returned in the response is a manager account (
canManageClients

 is
true), you need to use ManagedCustomerService

 to
get the list of accounts under this manager account. The
GetAccountHierarchy.cs

 example
shows how to use ManagedCustomerService to get the account hierarchy under
an AdWords Manager account.

Re: Why quotes surrounding keyword names are ignored in keyword performance report?

2017-07-05 Thread 'Sreelakshmi Sasidharan (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Including your keyword in double quotation indicates that you want the '
PHRASE' matching option to be enabled for that keyword. Please check here
 for various
keyword matching options. If you perform a AdGroupCriterionService.get()

 and
check for the specific keyword, you will see that the MatchType is listed
as 'PHRASE'. Ideally, your keyword is either kw or k"w with match type as
'PHRASE'. If you are using Keyword Performance Report to pull the stats,
you could include KeywordMatchType

 field
in your report. Filtering the report with KeywordMatchType as 'PHRASE' will
give you all the keywords which will be displayed within double quotation
in the AdWords UI.

Thanks,

Re: API for subtype "reach"

2017-07-05 Thread 'Shwetha Vastrad (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Renan,

YouTube Campaigns are only supported in AdWords API reports at the moment.
You'll not be able to create or retrieve YouTube campaigns using AdWords
API services. Campaigns created through the API are equivalent to *All
features* campaigns. There isn't a 1-1 mapping between the subtypes in the
UI and the API, since the UI subtypes are mostly used for controlling which
UI elements are available when working with a campaign in the UI.

Re: How much advantage in efficiency can I expect from using Batch Job Service on <1000 customer accounts?

2017-07-05 Thread 'Shwetha Vastrad (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Making a request to the API entails a number of fixed costs, such as
round-trip network latency, serialization and deserialization processing,
and calls to backend systems. By batching multiple operations, you can
reduce the number of requests you make and the associated fixed costs.

Unlike synchronous services, a single job in BatchJobService can operate
against a mixed collection of AdWords entities. You can submit jobs in
parallel, and BatchJobService automatically retries operations that fail
due to transient errors such as RateExceededError
.

Using BatchJobService

operations to complete. You can poll the status of the BatchJob

.

even on a test account (red test banner on the upper right). Where can I

Using API for Google Scripts

2017-07-05 Thread denney . owens
Hello,

I have written a script for my company website, however we have around
500,000 keywords which I need it to check. Which goes over the daily limit
I believe for Google Scripts, I have seen that you can use the API to
potentially get around this.

I have used a script template that I found online and edited this
appropriately for my site, but I am a complete novice in terms of Google
Scripts. To the point as I have no idea how to use the API to get around
this issue.

Can someone help please??

If I crack this, I will be very popular so any help is much appreciated!!

Thanks,

Denney

Re: How much advantage in efficiency can I expect from using Batch Job Service on <1000 customer accounts?

2017-07-05 Thread kruger
Hello,

Yes I have read both pages before writing my question.

Your answer, at best, only summarize the pages I have already read. (I even
recognize some specific phrases you nearly CP'ed from the pages)

I have provided a specific situation for the effectiveness of implementing
BatchJobService in the given scenario to inquire whether it is something I
must include in my MVP.

I have written the question because I did not find the answers on those
pages and you must know there isn't such answer to be found for my
questions in the pages.

If there isn't a suitable answer you can provide, please tell me you cannot
provide one so both of us can do something more useful with our time.

Thanks,

Let me know if its possible
