developer token not approved.

the error says that test developer token cannot be used for non test 
accounts. but I am using the test account only. How to check whether the 
account is test account or non test account. Or is this an error of other 
reasons?

Developer token not approved

Hello team,

   Team, I got the cust_id, client_id, client_secret, refresh_token and the 
developer token but when I hit the api(create Campaign) through my 
developer_token. Then it shows me an error:-  Developer token is not 
approved. 

Can you please help on the same.

Developer token not approved??

Hi,
It has been more than a week and I am not able to get the developer token 
approved.
Today I was testing the Google API code example, and I am getting this 
error:

*errorString=QuotaCheckError.DEVELOPER_TOKEN_NOT_APPROVED, fieldPath=, 
reason=DEVELOPER_TOKEN_NOT_APPROVED, *

So I wonder what's going on there? Why was it not approved? It doesn't give 
me more reason about it, also I didn't get any email with the answer
or how long does it take to be approved?
Please let me know ASAP.

Developer Token Not Approved

Hi,

I am very new to google adwords api have used analytics api before so 
followed the steps from making the first api call to adwords api and 
generated the developer token.
My company have a mcc account and few accounts under mcc accounts which i 
am using to run a test program getCampaign.java where in it complaints me 
about Dev token not approved. 
I generated the token on friday and only data i need to access is the count 
of clicks on the ads.
I am not sure whether i am missing out on something or whats the issue. 

How long does it take to get the token approved ? 
Is there anything on my end yet to be done which is y the dev token is 
still not approved ?

Developer token not approved yet

Hi,

We have recently set up an MCC account.The client account associated
with this MCC account is active from a long time.Now we are planning
to use AdwordAPI to integrate it with one of our internal application.

But our developer token request is not being approved yet and pending
from more than 2 weeks.We have already provided all the required
information like billing details, company details etc but
unfortunately not received any update on my token since then and the
status of developer token is still Pending.

It would be very helpful if someone can tell us how we can followup,
when it will be approved or what else information is required to be
submitted to get approval of our developer token.

The DEVELOPER 

_TOKEN_NOT_APPROVED 

 error 
is noticed when they're using an unapproved developer token to make API 
calls against Production accounts. An unapproved and test access developer 
token can be used to make calls against a test account. In order to use 
this test access token to make API calls to Production accounts, you will 
need a Basic access which can be applied by submitting this form 
. The API Compliance team 
will get back with a response within two business days, once the form is 
submitted. You can refer to this guide 
 about 
different access levels and their limits in detail.

I am testing the google ads APIs and even though i have created a test 
manager account and oauth creds against the account, I keep getting 
"Developer_Token_not_approver" error. Does this occur to anyone else? or if 
anyone has any workarounds, please let me know.

the Basic access? If yes, the API Compliance Team will respond with an 
answer within two business days through the email address provided in the 
AdWords API Center. Please ensure that it is a regularly monitored inbox. 
You can also contact the API Compliance Team by submitting this form 
 to follow up on your 
application. Meanwhile, you can continue using the API, by using the 
developer token to make API calls against test accounts

Hi Sreelakshmi,

It seems, I haven't completed this second part as i never reached this 
form. Also, I notice this is a form requesting a fresh new token and asks 
questions about previous tokens if any. I am not sure whether i have to 
fill out a fresh new token form and submit it, but will submit it and see 
what reviewer team decides.

Hi Sreelakshmi,

I filled in the second part and it worked. I believe there might be some 
information missing when I filled up the initial form which got completed 
in the second part. It just took a day for them to approve it.

The QuotaCheckError.DEVELOPER_TOKEN_NOT_APPROVED 

 error 
means that you are using an unapproved developer token to make calls 
against a production account. An unapproved developer token can only make 
calls against test AdWords accounts. This said, it is possible that you are 
making an API call against a production account rather that the test 
account. See the test account guide 

 for 
more information.

I would suggest to make sure that you are using a test client account ID 
set up in the clientCustomerID of your request header. If you confirm that 
you are indeed using a test account in your request header, could you 
provide the complete SOAP request and response logs so I could further 
check this? Please reply via *Reply privately to author*.

Developer Token not Approved on testing client account

Here are the steps i did for making API's Run

1. Create a Developer Token with the MCC Account
2. Create Test Manager Account and its client account.
3. Create OAuth credentials with the manager account.
4. Get Refresh Token with the Test Manager Account.

Now when i am trying to hit getcampaign Api via php library. it gave me 
error of DEVELOPER_TOKEN_NOT_APPROVED
when i change my client id to test manager account. API is working 
perfectly file with result : 0 record found.

can anyone guide me what i am doing wrong in it ?

Developer token not approved error when running getcampaigns

Hello, while attempting to call getCampaigns, I am running into the

Developer token not approved when using test account

[Mihir Chhatre]

I have created a production account and have a developer token. I have also 
created a test account. When I try to make API calls to the test account 
using the developer token I am getting an error "Developer token not 
approved". 
This should not happen as I am making calls to a test account.
Can someone please help with this issue?

The DEVELOPER_TOKEN_NOT_APPROVED 

 error 
message that you get is because you are trying to access a 
Production(Non-test account) with a Test Developer Token. Could you confirm 
that you are making API calls against a test account? If yes, could you 
reply back with complete SOAP logs with client customer id not redacted. 
You may *reply privately to author*.

I'm getting the same issue while following this 
tutorial. 
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/guides/first-api-call#create_test_accounts
My test account is 505-002-7092
My test MCC account is 756-028-1270
My prod MCC account is 482-920-6970
I confirmed that it is dispalyed as test account on the web console.

I can't start developing my application until this issue is resolved or my 
developer token is approved. And it seems the issue has been there for 10+ 
days. Is there any ETA?

I am pretty sure I am truing to connect test account, not production.

I have Developer token in my MCC with Access level Test Account.

I am getting exact same error when I try to GetCampaigns from test account.

Do you have an idea what am I doing wrong?

I am facing exactly same problem:

I have followed the same steps as mentioned in the documentation for 
setting up the API.

1. Set up production manager account.
2. Set up test manager account.
3. set up test client account.
4. get developer token from production mcc.
5. create oauth credentials in google developers console.
6. get refresh token using test manager account.

When making call to API for getting the test campaigns from the the test 
client, I get

AdWordsReportBadRequestError: Type: 
QuotaCheckError.DEVELOPER_TOKEN_NOT_APPROVED
Trigger: 
Field Path: None.

I see that the same issue is being faced some users. Is there some thing 
wrong in the implementation on my side or is it a tech issue on the API 
center?

I am using python client library.

The google Adwords API team have yet to update a response.

got the developer token. I am using the developer token against my test

Request failure for basic example (Developer token not approved)

So I was trying out some of the basic examples provided

I have previously made a call, successfully

The DEVELOPER_TOKEN_NOT_APPROVED 

 error 
means that you were making a call to production AdWords account using test 
access developer token. An unapproved developer token can only make calls 
against test AdWords accounts. Also, please check if you have filled out 
the second part  of the 
application form. If not, please fill it out. Once you submit that form, 
the AdWords API Compliance team will respond with an answer within a 
business day. Let me know if you have further questions.

Hi,

I am facing the same issue as above.

This are the things that we have done so far:

1. We have submitted an application adding new scope auth/adwords in our 
oath screen, this is pending approval.
2. We have successfully get refresh tokens of our developer test token 
found on adwords->tools->api center, and it says Access level is Test 
Account
3. We have also created a sub account of our manager account.
4. We are able to successfully call  the api using below method

$customerServiceClient = $googleAdsClient->getCustomerServiceClient();  
  
$accessibleCustomers=$customerServiceClient->ListAccessibleCustomers();

but no data listing sub accounts

5. When we call the api getting list of campaigns of the manager account we 
get this

Request with ID 'dOHTNfeMZLVrDozVeY38yw' has failed.
Google Ads failure details:
authorization_error: The developer token is not approved. Non-approved 
developer tokens can only be used with test accounts.

It says for test accounts only, but we are using test accounts.

6. When we call the api getting list of campaigns of the sub account with 
the loginCustomerId of the manager account we get this
Request with ID 'RKumElLONz4Hka16ROERGg' has failed.
Google Ads failure details:
authorization_error: The developer token is not approved. Non-approved 
developer tokens can only be used with test accounts.

7. When we call the api getting list of campaigns of the sub account 
without the loginCustomerId we get this
Request with ID 'F3AH4tnSDAgodKD03q_EGg' has failed.
Google Ads failure details:
authorization_error: User doesn't have permission to access customer. Note: 
If you're accessing a client customer, the manager's customer id must be 
set in the 'login-customer-id' header. See 
https://developers.google.com/google-ads/api/docs/concepts/call-structure#login-customer-id

Thanks for reaching out. I can see that you are running into issues with your 
developer token. If your developer token is only approved for Test Account 
Access, you will not be able to make calls against a production account. Can 
you provide the customerClientId that you are targeting so that I can confirm 
if it is a test account or a production account?

Additionally, I can see that you are running into other errors separate from 
your developer token error. Can you confirm if these requests were made to the 
same clientCustomerId? Can you please provide the complete detailed logs for 
each request? You can enable logging by following this guide for your 
respective client library.

Please provide all the requested information via the Reply privately to author 
option.

Thanks for reaching out to us. Because test and production accounts cannot 
interact in any way, you cannot use a test account under your existing 
production manager account. To use test accounts, you’ll need a new account

I am generating the Geo Performance report using the AdWords API. I am 
accessing the "City Criteria Id" attribute. The report generated gives me 
the ID for different cities but I am unable to find the name of the cities 
corresponding to the ID. 
I came across this link 
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/geotargeting, but 
the file does not specify city names for the corresponding codes. It only 
gives information about different country codes.

Can someone help me with this issue?

AdWords API and are querying the “City Criteria ID” attribute and want to know 
the corresponding cities you get. You can use the LocationCriterionService 
"get" function to return a list of location/cities that correspond to a certain

Hi All

It seems I confused the access type of the MCC account with the test account

So, to recap for anybody possibly reading this you need:
1. Production MCC account which will provide develop-token. Initially, this 
developer token can be used against test-accounts.
2. Then you can create A manager Test account
3. Then you can add a test client under that manager test account. 
4. Then you can make requests with the developer token on those client ids. 

I also had another error regarding DEVELOPER TOKEN access not granted for 
project X.
Once you make requests under a certain project (Google Cloud I think) you 
cannot make using a different one.

How to make a call mcc test account when my Developer token not approved.

I'm getting Developer Token Not Approved in soap api response.
This is my soap api request in nodejs

Hello,

You are getting the QuotaCheckError.DEVELOPER_TOKEN_NOT_APPROVED error 
because you are trying to access a production account with unapproved 
developer token(Pending approval status). However, you could make the API 
call to your test AdWords account with developer token with pending 
approval status. Please check out our Test MCC account guide 
 and create 
the test manager account and test AdWords account. You could use the test 
AdWords account client id (as client customer id in ads.properties file for 
Java client library) while making the API call.

The production manager account and test manager account or test AdWords 
account can not be linked. Please check out testing with production data 

 section 
of test account guide.

i have one doubt can i get client customer id using api after user 
authorization.

The client customer id 

 is 
the AdWords account id for which you are adding/updating AdWords data.
