Well when you subcontract the manufacturing out to a competitor’s plant (UBNT)
there is always the possibility of sabotage too.

This smells like a similar problem for sure.
Assuming that this is a manufacturing and not a design issue, my guess is that
it's either some process causing a component crack (i.e. not properly baking a
moisture sensitive part before assembly..causing popcorning, or a mechanical
flex during separation), or possibly a counterfeit component.

in Texas and hire the experienced Mexican crew - that used to assemble good

I'm halfway through a box of 25 with 4 failures so far, all requiring truck rolls and embarrassment. I'm going to hold off on sending in the box of dead radios as we will probably have another one tomorrow. We had few failures too, I thought it was high too, but some how my staff convinced me that it is not too high considering how many we have in the field.
