Well when you subcontract the manufacturing out to a competitor’s plant (UBNT) 
there is always the possibility of sabotage too.

This smells like a similar problem for sure. 

Assuming that this is a manufacturing and not a design issue,  my guess is that 
it's either some process causing a component crack (i.e. not properly baking a 
moisture sensitive part before assembly..causing popcorning, or a mechanical 
flex during separation), or possibly a counterfeit component.
