To reproduce concern: Change the font to any font besides the default font (bitstram vera/nimbus roman in Linux). Go to the end of the document than hit the right arrow key or down arrow key. Expected behavior: The font remains the font I chose in the font toolbar. Actual Behavior: The font reverts to the default font for the specified style. It is non-intuititive how to change the default style. Microsoft Word 2002 is smart enough to know that, when the user changes the font in the font toolbar before typing in any text, or changes the font in the font toolbar before fiddling with styles, to make the style default font the one the user requested in the font toolbar. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I can open it in OpenOffice 1.1.2. However, it is not rendered correctly. The title appears and the last line, "Director of Financial Aid" appears. But nothing between those two appears, aside from the current date. When I use antiword on this document, I can see the full text without problem. But the entire body is missing in OpenOffice. I also see a smaller empty rectangle (about 4 inches wide by 1 inch tall) in the lower left of the document. The smaller rectangle is similar to the light rectangular outline for the full page. I was also unable to either delete or "cut" the regression to remove it from the graph. I assume this is a defect, but possibly just an enhancement request (not overly familiar with the software). http://www.andrewpangborn.com/images/oo3.jpg http://www.andrewpangborn.com/files/squares.ods - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 43146] Users should have the option to have the cursor position remembered when opening a document.
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=43146 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Mar 10 17:54:56 -0800 2005 --- I had the same problem (not saving cursor position) with OOo 1.0 and helped myself by painting red the last written word. So I could find it easier after re-opening the document and scrolling down. In OOo 1.1.2 the cursor position was saved and I was able to finish my dissertation (about 100 pages) without searching for the last position (because of lots of images and few memory scolling through the document took about 5 minutes!). If the new standard behaviour will not be changed back, I'll keep on using OOo 1.1.2 (or 1.1.4/5 perhaps) because this feature is essential for larger documents! I think there are more people using WRITER than IMPRESS or BASE, so the great advantages of OOo 2.0 could be drawn back by this. I recovered once after a crash, then canceled. My file was then backed up by several days, where a significant amount of data was lost. Is there some way to make it skip the recovery process without crashing? IE, if I kill it on purpose after I have saved my file (doing bug testing through attaching OO.o to a backtrace reporter) can I do so without losing data? Therefore, I have submitted this bug report at SourceForge for this code: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1161049&group_id=89564&atid=590555 Also, a better work around is to replace the __FUNCTION__ macro with __func__ If the maintainer at SourceForge updates that code, perhaps it would be worth updating that package withing OO.org. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This would, perhaps, help some users find the answers to their problems quicker. Maybe also just a general link to the OOo site and the FAQs. I hate when crap is the background and I don't know. Somewhere in XP there is a way to tell most of the stuff to hide and you can tell certain icons to never hide. But, as I said, I think it would be a bad choice to not have an icon if the program is resident in memory. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. If you fiddle with the "Before text" and "After text" settings in the same dialog you will see that they are far more accurate to what will happen when the user presses "ok". [framework-issues] [Issue 44541] Can not coerce argument type during coreflection for a NULL to an array.
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=44541 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Mar 10 14:59:40 -0800 2005 --- It looks like I opened a can of works with this one Stephen Bergmann indicated that this is a severe error in the specification of XDatabaseMetaData because UNO can NOT accept a NULL object. So, the IDL for the object should NOT define an argument as NULL. The real error here is NOT that the Linux box would not accept the NULL value, but 1) That windows did accept the NULL object 2) That the specification is defined as such. A new issue has been created to handle the required definition change: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=44685 Side note: Frank SchÃnheit agrees This leaves the problem that a NULL value is accepted as an argument of an UNO call under windows as the error. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 44667] EPS Graphics files do not show preview and only print the preview
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=44667 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Mar 10 14:56:26 -0800 2005 --- I tested on WinXP Pro (inserted an EPS graphic). Note the graphic does not display on the screen in Open Office Writer, only the graphic size is marked out by a rectangle. When I made a PDF directly from Open Office Writer, the PDF did *not* contain the graphic. However, when I print to a postscript printer - to .prn file on disk, and then use Acrobat Distiller to convert the .prn to .pdf, the resulting .pdf does have the original graphic (as desired). I offer this as a hint for anyone trying to get an EPS into a PDF, and as inspiration for the OO PDF team; it is possible to get EPS into PDF. And it would be fantastically helpful if you could support it fully, because the resulting PDF then has full accuracy and scales beautifully. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I think you mean that if I use a file manager (like Windows Explorer) I can email a file from there. But please remember, I'm a user and not a developer. So, as a user, I'm saying again that if the functionality of the program is going to be changed then it needs to be clear. To users. The previous functionality to link to an email program through OpenOffice.org is not there; there's no reason why it should have been removed. I could do it before and I don't see why I shouldn't be able to do it now. If OO.o doesn't link to any email program from within itself then why have the "Send" item in the File menu? I have no idea of how hard this is... and I have supported this project since Star Office 5.2... but I can't see why something that's pretty much standard has disappeared. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
