I removed the links and it still crashes. I have found out that the problem is on rows 40 to 45 on the Presen sheet. If i delete all that then it saves ok. I tried to determine what cell was the problem, deleting them almost one by one but I couldn't. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It seems to me that even more important than choosing the type of transition is controlling the speed. "Fast"..."Slow" are very course and imprecise. I would propose expressing the transition in seconds with 1/10 a second resolution. Something like zero through 3600 seconds. This would bring to Impress the control that we have had for years with the old Kodak Slide projector. The fancier version of this would be to allow the user to control the transition on a time line marking the beginning and end of the transition. This model is expandable to allowing for a transition "envelope" for a non-linear fade. It would also allow for accurate sound sync. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. These worksheets contained fixed data (not equations) in cells, but they were in odd parts of the sheets. The sheets were also named with a path to documents that obviously don't exist on my machine, so I was wondering if they are pointing to external data sources. When I delete BOTH sheets, I can save as .sxc or .ods extensions. I have tried renaming the sheets, but this doesn't affect the crash. I did try it a couple of times before submitting it, and the attachment shows that I was not mistaken in which font I chose because it shows the font dialog. Maybe it was triggered by the fact the the font was newly-added to my machine. On the one hand I'd like to suggest that this might be important because it might turn someone off to OOo because they conclude that they can't use their favorite font. On the other hand I know that it's a pain to do anything about a non-repeatable bug. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The vertical spacing should have no dependency on width. The layout becomes unusable. It seems to be restored to normal after saving it in HTML view. To duplicate: 1) Start with a new HTML page 2) Draw three textboxes and put them on individual, adjacent lines by pressing Shift+Enter 3) Adjust the widths of one or more of them several times if needed and watch the vertical spacing See the attached partial screenshots (VertSpacing.zip). - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=45211 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Mar 26 15:40:41 -0800 2005 --- Ok, here's the skinny. First of all it some how fixed it's self. Well, not exactly but I cannot reproduce the bug. I loaded OOo-1.9.87. I was able to reproduce the bug (2nd page printing with a top margin about 1 inch too big). I used the same document and printed from OOo-1.1.3 and the top margin was perfect. So I tried some other tests. 1) printed to a file -- Passed 2) exported to a pdf -- Passed 3) printed to a taller page size (A4) -- Passed -- This one is strange because my printer was setup to print letter size paper, but the top margin was fine. 4) Installed a second printer, Printed the same document - Passed -- Ok now I'm begginning to wonder what's up. I found that I have two ppd files for my Photosmart printer. I unzipped them and copied one of them to /etc/cups/ppd/. Then I restarted cups and tried printing again. This time it worked. So I tried the other ppd. Same results, it worked. The only thing I am completly sure about is that at first using OOo-1.1.3 worked while OOo-1.9.xx did not. I am not sure of the significance of any of this but I am reporting this anyway. I believe that the orginal ppd file is the one that came with my distro, SuSE 9.2, while the other two ppd files were ones that came with the HP Manager software I downloaded from sourceforge. It appears that the SuSE ppd file is different and somehow only works with OOo-1.1.x Sorry for my rambling but I hope this helps someone. In the mean time I can say the bug is not reproducable. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Yes, Mathias, it's also buggy for me, no field-assignment possible and no database-file gets saved. If you are looking for a workaround (rather than just report the bug): for me it's possible to register the thunderbird-addressbook as a general type of external data-source (rather than "the" address-source). Once you saved a database-file for that, you can point the address-book wizard to the allready existing database-file. After that, when you use the mail-merge wizard, you can assign fields. [lingucomponent-issues] [Issue 46064] New - Request to add support for multiple dictionaries for one language
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=46064 Issue #:|46064 Summary:|Request to add support for multiple dictionaries for |one language Component:|lingucomponent Version:|680m88 Platform:|All URL:| OS/Version:|All Status:|NEW Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|ENHANCEMENT Priority:|P3 Subcomponent:|www Assigned to:|[EMAIL PROTECTED] Reported by:|dwb --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Mar 26 09:12:42 -0800 2005 --- The choice of dictionary is bound to a particular language and country code. For example "en" and "GB". One can define multiple dictionaries for "en" and "GB" but they are all checked for spelling and it is not possible to select which one should be used. It would be extremely useful to do so. For example, in the UK there are two distinctly different "house styles": one based on the OED house style and the other based on colloquial English usage. Sometimes one needs to use one and sometimes the other. We have created two different en-GB dictionaries conforming to the two house styles, but there is no way to select which one should be used without manually editing the dictionary.lst file and restarting OOo. It is understood that the same issue arises with other languages too, such as German. This is a request to decouple the choice of dictionary to use from the choice of language and country: e.g. "en" and "GB", thereby allowing multiple dictionaries for one language/country, and to provide the user with the capability to select which dictionary should be used without having to restart OOo. Thus if one selected "en" and "GB", one would have a further choice whether to use the "English (UK)" or "English (OED)" dictionary. (Assuming both are installed.) An alternative solution would be to define additional language variants, such as, for English, the language "English (OED)" and allocate it a different designator such as "en" and "OED" (rather than using "en" and "GB"). en-OED would be non-country-specific flavour of English. Whilst less ideal than the request above this solution may fit better with the current architecture of the application. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. (Oreja de Izaje.xls) If you double click the file OOo will crash. (note: the quickstart icon will duplicate some time and dissapear after a short time... and reappearing again also, you can't double click another document. OpenOffice will not start. Although in the task manager it will still be instances of soffice.exe and soffice.bin in memory and executing. (i counted 5 or 6 instances).. Also, Writer will not start anymore (until restart windows)) If you open the file from inside OOo (calc) it will open with a "memory shortage" warning. Obviosly the document will be unusable since OOo can't handle MS macros. I think that OOo can first verify if there are MS macros in a file and automatically disable them... it's better than crashing... :-) About Cotizacion 2966.doc: Now the problematic image is loaded correctly... but trying to double click on it will produce a "General OLE error". Also (but minor) in the images on the headers from page , the order of display is messed... (i will post a pdf file of the MS output next time) testing and the General OLE Failure is still there... but now appears at random points... (there's no reliable way of reproduce them... for now) still testing... Se ya later! J. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I meant writer. Basically I open a SXW file that has versions in it, and save it as an ODT file. The versions within the SXW file don't carry over, so I'm left without them. Make a SXW file, save a version into it, save it. Then try opening it in writer and saving as an ODT (OpenDocument Text) file. You'll see that the version you saved never carried over. This happens when I try to convert any SX* file to its OpenDocument format counterpart. The versions within it don't carry over and it's somewhat frustrating. When I import them in version 1.1.4, the resulting impress file is almost ok, I only have to modify the fonts to obtain a similar result. However the equations are imported as images, not as equations that can be edited. When I use the french version of version 1.1.3 (on fedora core 3 and my system is setup with french canadian as the native language and keyboard), the fonts are all perfect and many equations are imported perfectly as equations that can be edited. However, some greek characters are not imported properly. For example: rho. When I check in the equation editor of version 1.1.3 in french, I note that I need to put %rhà (with a circonflex accent on the o for those without a properly setup character set) and not %rho as should logically be used. On import, it seems that impress replaces every such greek letter by ''. Does someone has a solution to that problem, other that editing each equation and replacing each lost rho, mu or other... To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=46056 Issue #:|46056 Summary:|line breaks unpreserved when saved as "Text Encoded" Component:|Word processor Version:|OOo 1.1.4 Platform:|PC URL:| OS/Version:|Windows XP Status:|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|TASK Priority:|P3 Subcomponent:|save-export Assigned to:|mru Reported by:|benjer --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Mar 26 03:33:40 -0800 2005 --- When an OOo Writer document is saved as "Text Encoded," line breaks that resulted from the right indent cursor setting in Writer disappear. So, if I were to set the right indent cursor at the 3 inch mark on the horizontal ruler, then begin typing a line of text, a new line would start once that point was reached. In MS Word 2003, saving a document as a plain text file with the following settings: Text encoding: -Other encoding: US-ASCII Options: -Insert line breaks (checkbox is selected) -End lines with CR/LF ...will result in a plain text file wherein the line breaks caused by the right indent cursor are preserved. For example, the following document in MS Word 2003 was saved with the above settings, with the right indent cursor set at 3 inches. http://orst.edu/~ochsnerb/word.txt If, however, I make similar selections in OOo Writer: File is saved as "Text Encoded" (either via File Menu (Save As...), or via toolbar icon if it is the first time I saved the document) A "ASCII Filter Options" window appears. Character Set: Western Europe (ASCII/US) Paragraph break: CR & LF ...any line breaks that were created by the right indent cursor disappear. For example, the following document in OOo Writer was saved with the above settings, with the right indent cursor set at 3 inches. http://orst.edu/~ochsnerb/OOo.txt So, my issue is that plain text files created with OOo Writer are not preserved. I hope I have explained myself well enough. Terribly sorry if this ends up being a duplicate issue, as I spent a good 30-45 minutes searching for one already posted. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I've reconstructed the file and exported it to PDF (both variants) it used to be like this: http://www.gidoo.de/ooo/subjonctif-geb.pdf but it looks like this: http://www.gidoo.de/ooo/subjonctif-geb-after.pdf ### disappearance ### a) In the centre and right column under "2. Verben und AusdrÃcke des Empfindens und der subjektiven bewertung", I used a table, then a paragraph, a table again and than a paragraph again. All things after the first table disappeared. b) In all columns, I used a 2 pt heigh empty paragraph at the beginning and the end of each column. The ending paragraph is disappeared, too. So what went wrong? Thank's for your answers and Happy Easter Julius - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. On OOo 1.9.m84 - after install, clicking on OOo Base opens the database front end app. On OOo 1.9.m87, this does not happen - clicking on OOo base has no apparent effect. It will still open existing OOo Base databases, just allow me to create new ones? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
