To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=82166 Issue #|82166 Summary|TwinViewOrientation Clone stopped working in OOo 2.2.1 |->2.3 Component|Presentation Version|OOo 2.3 Platform|PC URL| OS/Version|Linux Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|viewing Assigned to|cgu Reported by|pantse --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Oct 2 06:11:48 + 2007 --- I hope I'm wrong, but I suppose we've lost the best possible presentation mode by updating the OOo from 2.2.1 to 2.3. When I'm giving a presentation, I always have my screen split by TwinViewOrientation so that in addition to what the audience sees (1024x768), I can see my full desktop (1920x1200) in my one laptop screen. The "audience part" is in left upper corner of the screen and it's handy to keep the things only you can see around this public part. In versions before OOo 2.3 activating the show caused the full presentation appear to this "audience" part of the screen - like it should be. In OOo 2.3 there will appear only a fraction of the screen to the audience part - and nothing else is shown. I noticed the two real monitor's TwinView possibility to assign the presentation to monitor 0 or 1, but this option is grayed out in this case I described - naturally. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I am using Ubuntu 7.04 and have the "unclutter" program running, which hides the cursor after a short delay, to get it out of the way. Unclutter works properly with all programs I've seen so far except OO. OO seems to be trying repeatedly to re-display the cursor, and as a result, the cursor appears to flutter off and on quickly. This would be a minor annoyance except that the CPU is also 100% loaded during the cursor fluttering. If I shake the mouse, a solid cursor reappears in the OO window, and the CPU load goes away. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I cannot deduct what you mean by: When I try to run tcsh, I get an error saying "Badly placed ()'s". What is the *excact* sequence of commands that you enter and in which shell? Secondly, check your cygwin installation. This: gcc: installation problem, cannot exec `as': No such file or directory looks like you are missing some more packages or there is a problem with your installation. "as" is part of binutils and a dependency to gcc, so it should be there. Start cygwin's setup to add the missing packages. You can also use `cygcheck -c` to see if you have broken packages and you should reinstall them if that is the case. [sw-issues] [Issue 82162] Window manager scrogged by ooffice startup

The "fix" is to reboot. This seems like the problem that the ooffice readme warns of: "often caused by the graphics card driver". My sysadmin says: >You have a reasonably up to date kernel and Xorg driver for >your ATI Radeon VE/7000 QY video driver. >The RPM name is xorg-x11-drv-ati-6.6.3-1 -- see >/var/log/Xorg.0.log for all the details. The OS is: Linux version 2.6.22.7-57.fc6 ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) (gcc version 4.1.2 20070626 (Red Hat 4.1.2-13)) #1 SMP Fri Sep 21 20:23:24 EDT 2007 It seems the trouble may happen when I dismiss the pop-up style palette at the same time the document is appearing on the screen--but this is grasping at straws. Does the finger seem to point at the driver? If so are there any confirming tests I might try, such as trying some non-ooffice application known to be similarly sensitive? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I have a word format and odf format resume that I wanted to look at. I noted an issue in the export function and wanted to fix it by hand inside Writer. But if I have the ODF version open the title says "Resume". And if I try to open the resume.doc file it just makes the existing "Resume" window flash. It doesn't actually open the other file, but seems to just make the current window think it was updated. I'm sure it is still showing the ODF version as the formatting issue isn't there. I'm guessing this is because you're tracking the files using only the portion of the name that doesn't include the extension. The easiest fix I see is to include the extension instead. Not sure of other problems that might introduce though. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. However, I had used that word already five times and five times I had written this word correctly. I think it would be a nice idea if OOo would check the malspelled words (according to the spelling checker) and if the same word is used more than a few times (five would be a nice number) in the same document, automatically add it to the custom word list or set the 'ignore all' flag for that word. Perhaps ask this pro-actively to the user when the spelling checker is turned on? Since, why would I repetively type a wrong word the same way? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. We have a dual-head setup. Each presentation would be open on a separate desktop. Each desktop would have the 'main' window and the 'presentation' window on separate screens. Now - with the option to assign the presentation to a screen we can no longer run multiple presentations at the same time. We can open them on separate desktops but the first 'presentation' window will be the only one to be displayed on the second head. In OpenOffice 2.0.3 we would see entries in the window list / task bar for both the 'main' window and the 'presentation' window. Now - with 2.3 we only see entries for the 'main' window and the 'presentation' window does not show up in the window list / task bar. We would love to have the ability to once again run multiple presentations at the same time on separate desktops and to have the windows on those desktops be displayed like before. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I want them roughly left, center and right. To do this I add two tab stops, one in the center (a left tab) and one on the far right (a right tab...the side of the text the tab location appears on). When I export I get 4 tabs. With two in the correct locations, but 2 more that shouldn't be there. This is confirmed looking at the exported file in MS's free Word 2003 viewer and OO. It happens even with 1 of the lines, but I included 2 just in case. The formatting looks correct in one of the exported lines, but it is just because the text is past the incorrect tab stops. I'll try to attach the two files, but it isn't immediately obvious to me how to do that. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. That's odd. I noticed it for the first time with one of the built-in envelope sizes and have since reproduced it for most of the sizes smaller than A4 (i.e. those that will actually fit in my printer), including custom size at various widths. As I said before, it only appeared to happen in OOo. Microsoft Word (the closest I have to Writer) prints all papersizes just fine. Most programs don't support as wide a range of papersizes as Word or Writer, but those that they support print fine. To rule out a corrupt or buggy driver I have just tried it with the driver for a similar HP printer: the LaserJet 1100, which also expects its paper to be centered in the tray, if I'm not mistaken. Same effect, it prints just the same as with the correct driver, both in Word and in Writer. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. When you add a snap line (by dragging from any of the rulers) the save button (and its corresponding menu entry in "File") is not activated. Same situation with a document containing some data and that it was just saved previously. The edition of snap lines is just not recognized as a modification to the data. However, the snap lines are indeed stored as part of the file. Modifications to snap lines should be treated as any other modification. This is particularly true for documents where the snap lines are very important, such as posters or pamphlets. Issue easily repeatable. Tested with OO 2.3 (i586) under CentOS5 x64 and Windows XP. I tested it with a component that replaces the original text of the smart tag with other text, and it did replace it on the help file text. Although changes are not stored, because the Help is read-only, the text gets changed by the smart tags component. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=82154 Issue #|82154 Summary|Duplicate "lingucomponent" causes checkout problem Component|www Version|current Platform|All URL| OS/Version|All Status|NEW Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P2 Subcomponent|openoffice.org CVS Assigned to|mh Reported by|hr --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Oct 1 17:31:44 + 2007 --- We've got two "lingucomponent" in OOo CVS repository. One is a top level project, one is a subproject of whiteboard. Alle the relevant stuff is in "whiteboard/lingucomponent", and accordingly we got an alias "lingucomponent" which points to "whiteboard/lingucomponent". Now we got the following situation: "cvs co -r lingucomponent" will checkout "whiteboard/lingucomponent" as it is supposed to do. But checking out single files does something surprising: "cvs co -r lingucomponent/prj/build.lst" will take build.lst from the top level project and not "whiteboard/lingucomponent/prj/build.lst" The reason for this is, that someone accidentally committed some files to the top level project on Apr. 27, 2003. These files need to be removed so that single file checkout works for lingucomponent. Please remove the subdirectories "lingucomponent/source" and "lingucomponent/prj" from the *top-level* project lingucomponent. All files in these directories and the sub-directories should be from Apr. 27, 2003, committed by khendriks. These files were never used, anyway. The subdirectory "lingucomponent/www" is still needed, of course. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Only when I gave it the extensions (file rename) that I initially chose, could the file be opened. So it's non-OpenOffice file format, but with an OpenOffice extension. For Calc the file formats are probably too much alike, because that opens without a rename. It may very well be a bug in Microsofts FileDialog, which I've also seen happen on Paint Shop Pro 5 (yes, ancient): it would save a file as the extension that is in the filename edit box, but with the filetype of the filetype selector. Hope this helps. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. What happens now? If you move your mouse down to select b3:b13 the active cell will be b13. If you now use the formula $f3>=$f$13 it is relative to b13. When OOo enters the formula to the cell b12, that part in the formula, which is still relative will be changed. Cell b12 gets the formula $f2>=$f$13 and so on. Cell b11 gets formula $f1>=$f$13 and b10 gets formula $f0>=$f$13. But a row 0 doesn't exist and you get the #REF! error. [www-issues] [Issue 82151] Shortcut URL for Wiki
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=82151 Issue #|82151 Summary|Shortcut URL for Wiki Component|www Version|current Platform|All URL| OS/Version|Windows, all Status|NEW Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|ENHANCEMENT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|openoffice.org website general issues Assigned to|[EMAIL PROTECTED] Reported by|tora --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Oct 1 16:00:06 + 2007 --- Motivation Since Wiki uses a title of a page as a part of URL for the page, the URL could be descriptive if the title was comprehensible. The URL, however, could be problematic in the certain conditions: - The length of URL could be too long beyond normal width of e-mail. [1] - To avoid a long URL, some people name a title with few words. [2] - A title with non-ASCII characters makes a cryptic URL. [3] [1] http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/OOoAuthors_User_Manual/Writer_Guide/Creating_one_file_from_a_master_document_and_its_subdocuments Too long! [2] http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Deadlines A deadline for what? [3] http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/OpenOffice.org%E6%97%A5%E6%9C%AC%E3%83%A6%E3%83%BC%E3%82%B6%E3%83%BC%E4%BC%9A What does that mean? See titles of the pages in the Wiki http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/mwiki/index.php?title=Special%3AAllpages&from=&namespace=0 Solution There might be many solutions. One of them is a shortcut. With use of shortcut, the URLs listed above would turn to be: [1] http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/?shortcut=xx [2] http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/?shortcut=yy [3] http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/?shortcut=zz [1] The length of URL can fit to that of e-mail. [2] If the real URL is better than its shortcut one, simply use it. [3] Since a URL with %xx notation is not descriptive from the beginning, a shortcut URL could be better than the original one. Sample Implementation Real URL: http://openoffice-ja.org/wiki/%E3%82%A8%E3%82%AF%E3%82%B9%E3%83%86%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B7%E3%83%A7%E3%83%B3/Sun_Report_Builder Shortcut: http://openoffice-ja.org/wiki/?shortcut=8380c4 Look at the top of the page, a shortcut URL of the page is printed. A user can copy the shortcut URL and paste it in his e-mail. Accessing to the shortcut URL, a recipient will see its real page. Sample Source Code I would like to directly send a source code of the sample implementation to the person who would be assigned to this issue for security reasons. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. My objective was to apply a green background into cells with a conditional format. Here are the steps to reproduce unknown references from Calc : - Select a bloc of cells from up to down : for example b3:e11 - Make a conditional format, for example : choose "Formula is", and in the formula field "$f3>=$f$13" /style "vert". Validate. Formatting doesn't work ! Why ? Because if you look at the conditional format of the cell b3 (for example), Calc has translated by a reference of type $F#REF !>=$F$13 Thanks - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
