[sw-issues] [Issue 81512] ChemDraw objects are paste d as low resolution bitmaps
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=81512 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Oct 3 06:02:47 + 2007 --- I doubt that EMF will be used as data format at all on Mac OS X. According to my experiences PICT or JPEG are the picture formats being used. But anyway its probably a good idea to let the submitter check what formats are in the clipboard. There is a tool pasteboardpeeker that could serve or purposes here. The binary is not that big so I will attach it to this issue. Its fairly simple to use. Just start it copy something to the clipboard from within chemdraw select paste in the menu of pasteboardpeeker. In pastboardpeekers main window you will see the raw content of the clipboard. Attach this to this issue please. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. User changes the cell format to be a number, however this dosen't change the content that is still text infact. Then user attempts to do some mathematical operation, and it fails because the cell content is text. Could there be some test mechanism? For example, a checkbox in Cell Format tab check for consistence. If checked, any attemp to do cell format change would call a test, that would display warning, if the user specified cell format dosen't match with the cell content. see issue 70120 for an example of problems connected.. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. (On Windows, where the default is Times New Roman, you would for example insert a character from the Symbol font). * After that special character, type some more normal characters (which will be in the default font, which is correct). * Modify the font for the paragraph style of the paragraph you are in (Standard in a German Writer with a fresh document and default settings). * You will see that the characters that you typed after the special character do not show the change in the font. Writer behaves as if inserting the special character had applied a manual font setting directly after the special character, overriding the font setting from the paragraph style. Maybe this was done on purpose, maybe it was an unintentional change. It is not that big a problem since one can still revert to the paragraph font setting by Ctrl-Shift-Space directly after inserting the special character. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Why did you implement only 9? Translation of COORD, FORMAT, PARENTHESES, SHEET and TYPE are missing. The reason is that Calc doesn't offer functionality for those keywords even in English, so there is no point in translating them (you'll get Error result anyway). To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=24295 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Oct 3 13:58:35 + 2007 --- This just happened to me in v2.3. Documents (native write and calc) I printed in a previous session would crash OO on *opening* them. When I started/ reconnected the network printer, everything worked fine. To check, I disabled the network card, effectively disconnecting the printer, and again, OO crashed when opening those documents. Note that this is not an issue that occurs when you try to print, but rather a crash when *opening* documents previously saved after being printer. This is using a network printer (ie. not a printer connected locally to another computer), Lexmark E120N, in Windows XP Pro 64-bit SP2. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sc-issues] [Issue 8808] Need a solver

So might I ask Sun Legal, where does the problem lie ? Unless, of course, the decision is one of a particular ownership strategy that Sun management has not seen fit to divulge to the community ? As has been pointed out, there are already other forms of licensing in parts of the code integrated within OOo, under alternative permissive with certain restrictions licenses. Whilst I can understand that having all the code under one hat so to speak, makes life a hell of a lot easier for those who have to manage, sell, defend it, etc, we are not exactly breaking new ground (in terms of code management) with a code submission such as this, and indeed I would say again that is has been done before, and could be done again. Obviously, this is not what is wanted by the historical entity of the project. Alex And yes, I am a practising lawyer, and specialize in the field of intellectual property. Yesterday I received email notification from Sun introducing good news that a lot of features are there, check again, no SVG. I suffer because now I can hardly get high resolution diagram printed. I can only use low-resolution png and my diagram happen to be hard to convert to odg (external importer failed). I really don't need all these fancy 3D chart stuff and I am definitely not going to upgrade to 2.3. Suddenly I got a feeling like several years ago crying for png transparency support in IE. I know Sun provided OOO for free and we should be thankful, but I got a mixed feeling. I have waited years and years and read every release note, I subscribe OOO release notification only to wait for the day to come. When the answer given to this dialog is yes, Calc will modify cell G14 with the label The link could not be updated. Steps to reproduce the error: 1) Open the template or create a new document based on it (either way the results are the same) 2) When prompted to update links to other files, select Yes (if you select no, the cell is not updated) 3) Check the contents of the cell C14 I unzipped the file and searched content.xml for the string file but I could not find any match. This is because the file originally contained links to other files using with the file:// syntax (I do not know if there is another syntax possible). So my guess is that Calc is reading some content and mistaking it as a link. This could be a bug. In any case, cell G14 is being written with an undesired value. This is a bug from my point of view. Hope this helps improving the product. I have only used this file under Windows, so I do not know if the bug persists in another environments. I do know that this file has presented the same behaviour since version 2.0 (or maybe ever since pre-2.0 versions), unfortunately I do not keep a record of this. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. As for my porters, that would most definitely be me :). The patch was previously done by Lemote and I'm gradually trying to understand the code, so I can clean it up and improve it. That also means I have to ramp up my knowledge of Unix/Linux and particularly MIPS programming, which I'm doing at the moment. Still I would kindly appreciate and welcome any help from Debian and Gentoo MIPS porters as well. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Maybe hyphenpos=1 wrongly forbidden by the 2-characters limit. Please, check my example, not the default Dutch hyphenation pattern. LibHnj executable works well on my example. [framework-issues] [Issue 77824] Copy/paste Impress slide t o Writer is corrupted
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=77824 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Oct 3 19:56:02 + 2007 --- This issue is still open in OOo2.3. 1. Create or open an Impress presentation 2. Select and right click with mouse (ctrl-c with keyboard) on a slide in the Slide Pane and select Copy 3. Open a Writer document (new or existing) 4. Select Edit - Paste Special 5. Select Impress 8 and press OK 6. Blank image appears. If you paste using any of the other 3 special options or right click and paste with your mouse (ctrl-v with keyboard) you will get the text but no background image. This has been confirmed on 3 separate installations on Windows XP SP2 and various processors. More information: Using the Aquire - Paste as New option in GIMP 2.2.17 and the New from Clipboard option in Photoshop Elements 2 yield the same results as a straight ctrl-v into a Writer text document. Ironically, a straight copy and paste from Impress to Draw seems to work. However, Draw to Writer does not. I hope this additional information will help solve this issue. This is an important feature since I create workbooks that have the presentation slides on the left page with text on the right page. I remember this working properly back around 2.0. I tried this on 2.2 and it sort of worked but the image was not proportional as mentioned already. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Although it might not be used in the document, it still is listed somewhere in the XML code and so OOo wants that link to be updated. You get this problem if you create a link to an other spreadsheet like ='file:///C:/Dokumente_und_Einstellungen/Rainer/Eigene_Dateien/TEMP/oootestfiles/82226_links/testfile.ods'#$template.C9 (create it with = - click on cell in other document - enter) and delete the cell contents with the link afterwards. The link to the other document will remain (and is visible in the dialogue box), although it is not really used in the document. I can not see any sense in that behaviour, but currently I am not sure whether this is a bug or a feature. This problem also existed in older OOo versions. But put it before [mpWindow setFrame: , then fullscreen simply works = see fullscreen_carbon.diff patch 2) use to hide the menubar+the dock: [NSMenu setMenuBarVisible:NO]; to show them again: [NSMenu setMenuBarVisible:YES]; = see fullscreen_cocoa.diff patch Discussion: The first patch is more interesting if we want to keep the menubar appear when the cursor hits on top of the screen, but this is Carbon, close to end of life. The second one is Cocoa, but we lose the feature .. Opinions ? ( patches will be attached soon) - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
